does a volcano remain active?
if not: will the lava within the pit disapear?
if so: does the valcano become active again?
oh and:
this doesnt seems right to me
Yes, the A type volcano(old ones) will go to sleep, at least they should! While it's inactive the lava will slowly turn into obsidian(one by one) and there's always a slight chance it will wake up again. When it wakes up it will refresh the lava and start destroying again. This is an infinite loop for the volcanoes' life.
The picture: That is correct, I actually intended the obsidian to remain flying, I can add an option that obsidian will proceed to fall down after the explosion too(very easily done :smile.gif:)
Version 1.3_1:
Customize the spawnrate and hear the terrifying roar of the world, say hello to sound(No audiomod! :biggrin.gif:)!
You can't make the obsidian explode before it hit.
It actually do explode before it hits, if not it would consume the explosion and you only hear the explosion. This was a problem for me in early development :tongue.gif:
I installed the mod ( works great and love it!) And then, I was in creative mode flying with the spawner, and all of a sudden I got text that said "Beware...". Is that part of the mod?

I've been getting that "Beware..." thing too, I have no idea what it is....
Volcano generation... or more commonly known as the text "Beware..." means that a volcano has spawned nearby. You can expect to see a volcano around when wandering if you've waited long enough(this for Type A volcanoes).
Also, this mod is coming for EvilMinecraft, I joined the crew and work on the World Generation :smile.gif:
Is it possible to alter the velocity of the block entities while they're in the air? Keep in mind that velocity includes direction as well as speed because if you are able to do that then what I suggest may solve the problem of type A volcanoes looking like failed volcanic cones. I haven't tested the new version of the mod because I don't want to mess around with my jars at the moment, but it seems as though type B's manage to consistently get a solid cone, so I think type A's should focus more on spreading far without growing tall. Now, if the blocks from a type A in phase 1 are launched straight up very high, well beyond the clouds, and THEN, at the apex, you change their velocity so they move outwards at varying speeds, then you avoid the problem of the blocks forming a pseudo-cone, and you get more of a "field of lava" effect, like the example type A you have in the OP.
Awesome mod, but you can get a more realistic look by keeping the lava at bay until stage 3. I know nothing about coding, but it seems you've got the ground pushing upwards and flying about with lava mixed in. If you could get just the ground to push up and form a mountain for the first stage... have the lava fill in the center of the newly made mound in stage two (maybe a lava leak or two)... then stage three (occurs randomly) have the lava blow the top off the mountain and commence the eruption.
Thats just my take on making it even more realistic. Like I said though, coding isn't my thing so I don't know how difficult this would be to pull off.
The suspenseful thing about volcanos isn't whether or not they are going to pop up out of the ground (they're all over the place already), its whether or not / when they are going to erupt.
Are they based off the pseudo-idea I gave - pushing up the ground around the volcano relative to how close to the core? Seems like they generated that way, but I havent found one in-game yet, so Ill keep looking :smile.gif:
Either way, great to see this updated to 1.1, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing how this develops in the future :smile.gif:
If you have ever taken Physical Geology and covered Volcanoes its pretty interesting to see how the eruptions take place over time but even more when they happen in Minecraft! It would be nice if the mod had other types of volcanic activity. If you are looking for more types consider cinder cones, shield volcanoes, and the most violent type, volcanic domes. Pretty great mod!

Volcanic domes isn't the most destructive............

I haven't done it exactly like that, when a layer is added the width will add a random 0-3 and resulting in creating either a fat volcano, coned volcano of simple a hill with lava on top...
Everything is random, so you can't really complain that much as I am not responsible for it's appearance.

No, that's not the one that sleeps, Type A sleeps :smile.gif:
Obsidian land and explode.

Look at the picture part in the OP, and you'll find out :smile.gif:

Ok... Good to know your opinion. Any idea how I can improve it? :smile.gif:
I've been getting that "Beware..." thing too, I have no idea what it is....
i second this notion! +1
btw is it normal for my game to freeze with a blue screen during stage 1 ?

And expect a new version, 1.4 :smile.gif:
i will sugest a volcano for underwater.
one that is like Realy tall and stuff...

Wow, these new volcanoes look great!

but it's do not erupt and throwing obsidian..
