It's not so much the internal changes, since there have been updates this big in the past but the large internal changes combined with the new launcher and application structure has made this a bit of a doozy.
With regard to how difficult/easy it makes modding, there's really not much difference in difficulty.
Can we get a progress report on this mod? Don't mean to bug you, but YOU'RE AWESOME!!! Just want to tell you that you do a great job and I know you are working as fast and as efficiently as you can. I appreciate that. Thanks for the good work!
Guys... this Mod IS getting updated - someone took over ages ago -.-; If you people actually read what he wrote, Mumfrey is still working on it.
Also, be blooming patient. Yes, it's a uselful mod. Yes, us server admins are lost without it. So instead of all going "Oh, when ya updating it?" and "hurry up I need it!" why don't you all say "Thank you for your hard work, I'm sure it's been a little harder getting it to all work this time, so yes, I'll frickin' wait for when it comes out and stop whining about it".
Just think about the pressure you might be putting him under. It's HARD WORK that he VOLUNTEERS to do. Come on guys... you wouldn't like it if he was doing it to you - so don't do it to him -.-;
But on a different note... thank you Mumfrey for the hard work! I'm sure you haven't been able to play much yourself while your updating this Mod. :3 <3 We're rooting for ya!
Has nothing to do with being patient, I ask if he can make his own thread with download links that gets update so we dont have to sift through 78+ pages of this inactive devs thread to find Mumfrey's updated version.
New thread = less hassle for everyone including Mumfrey.

I'll be making a new thread when the update is ready, yetanotherx has given me permission to do so and will link the new thread from this one.
Re: people asking for updates. 1, that's against the forum rules and 2, appreciate that this was a massive update to minecraft and I have 10+ mods to update and have had to make radical changes to the loader before I could even start. Fortunately cpw helped me out with the new launcher stuff so we're doing internal testing of LiteLoader at the moment.
It's been only a week since 1.6.2 dropped, and this update is not like previous ones and quite a few things have to be rewritten from scratch. Please be patient.
Thanks for all the hard work Mumfrey! Also, thanks for taking the time to reply to my own query. I'm going to guess there's a conflict with some other graphical mod in FTB Ultimate, as the liteloader version seems to load, but it never actually does anything. Hopefully the FTB team will get their stuff updated to 1.5 (or maybe even 1.6?) so I'm not trying to shoehorn a dinosaur egg into the nest.

Check the logs, there may be some clue there that will help me with compatibility going forward.
Make sure to put a donation link on new thread. So much deserved
I never accept donations, I always recommend people who want to make donations make them to this guy who uses donations (and his own money) to buy minecraft accounts for people who can't afford them but can prove they deserve one.
I don't have any problem with people who want to make money from their mods, but to me accepting donations turns it into a kind of a job which removes some of the fun from mod development, since this is my hobby I don't want that to happen.

that's pretty awesome. When you manage all that mod-making, you will officially be one of my favorites. I was actually asking one of my friends to see if he could get perms to mod this but he linked me to your post. CANT WAIT!! Thanks so much!!!!
Okay I'll make a proper new thread when I get five seconds, for now here's the updated version. Consider it a beta because I haven't had a chance to properly put it through its paces.
I've confirmed that it loads and works with LiteLoader 1.6.2 and LiteLoader 1.6.2 chained to Forge, more in-depth testing will be performed at a later date and if there are issues I will release a fix so don't panic if it fails to work in some way. If possible provide logs/stack traces if you find things don't work as expected.
Here's a link to the LiteLoader thread with installation instructions over there. Dump the litemod file in "mods" as with all previous versions.

Great work getting a build out! I'm not sure if I did something wrong.... but I can't see the outline.. :/ I extracted the litemod jar, and put the files into one of my custom jars with other mods already in it. And then I put the worldedit litemod file into my /Roaming/.minecraft/mods folder. Should it have created a mods folder in the version folder or did I do something wrong. Thanks for the help, you are awesome! Can't wait for macros to be updated.

You shouldn't need to extract anything. The new LiteLoader uses the Tweak system that Mojang implemented in the new launcher so you just need to run the installer which will install the library and the config. If you want to chain it to forge or other Tweak loaders then use cascaded tweaks, and for other mods put them in the libraries entries. No mods require you to extract anything any more, the new launcher takes care of all that.
Basically, run LiteLoader installer and then just put the .litemod file in "mods" without extracting it.
Also, nothing should be in the versions folder except the minecraft jar and the json file.

Thanks for the info and the quick response! The reason I extracted it is because I need it in another jar, not the LiteLoader-1.6.2 jar. Otherwise I would have to get my other mods that aren't litemods and put them back into the jar which is more of a hassle. I'll work around it for now but just tell me if I need to change something. I really don't know how to use the tweaks either. :/

You don't need to put anything in any jar. If you want to add mods which don't use the loader then add them as libraries to your install. Open the LiteLoader1.6.2.json file and add your entries in there. Do not put them into the original jar, that method is deprecated and Mojang will be removing support for adding mods in that way in the future.

Sorry for all the spam. I have no clue how to add it to the json file... I see your stuff in there with all the liteloader stuff.... None of that makes sense to me. Could you link me to a tutorial or something? xD
I use the Misa resource pack which requires mcpatcher (which I use to install modloader, toomanyitems etc). I haven't got a clue how I can get all this to work together, please can you help explain if or how it is possible?
MCPatcher patches a copy of 1.6.2.jar and a new mods folder is created inside the versions > 1.6.2-mcpatcher folder by modloader. Only the conf files are located in the .minecraft > mods.
I have to say I do the same thing. I pretty much pray to Mcpatcher. I use it to simplify everything.

Thankyou for this. Now I have confirmation that LiteLoader had installed properly. Couldn't tell otherwise.
This is so useful, now it's pretty hard to make accidental edits to my world whist using WorldEdit. Also is there by any chance that this is open source? So I can make a few design changes, not a huge fan of the design ;S
I know about the issue but haven't yet identified the root cause I will release a liteloader update once it's fixed. For now just press F3 + S to reload the soundsystem and the sounds will come back.
If the new WECUI author can not update the first post in this thread with new versions, please make a new thread. It is difficult to find the download links or for people to even know there is an update.
