Hi,
Do you mean with "Skeleton Snipers" that Skeletons try to maintain a certain distance to you instead of chasing you ?
And the new version didn't fix the lag for me. I tried it on tiny render distance anyway. It still lags when generating new chunks and when loading existing chunks it's fine. Can you even reproduce the problem ? (By making a new world)
Edit: 2.3 always lags for me, 2.2 only lags when generating new chunks.
Yeah, I just tried the mod again today, and still, even with Optifine loaded and my settings turned down, even with setting the Priority to High and making sure I had nothing else running, I just simply could not play with how much lag I got. I dont like sounding like Im bad mouthing the mod, but it just will not work for me and I cant enjoy it.
I am thinking about generating the world (with Very far render distance) without your mod, then saving and playing with your mod. Or is there a tool out there which generates the world without having to play ?
There is still my other question: When Minecraft generates new chunks, it lags. When Minecraft loads chunks from a save it doesn't lag. Can you reproduce this ?
Hansebenger:
I have tried to reproduce it but I cant. My game has stopped lagging with the newest version both creating a world and loading one. Maybe if you say what your settings are on when you generated it I might try to replicate it again.
My settings generating a new world:
Graphics: Fancy
Smooth Lighting: ON
3D Anaglyph: OFF
GUI Scale: Auto
Brightness: Left
Particles: All
Render Distance: Tiny
Performance: Max FPS
View Bobbing: ON
Advanced OpenGL: OFF
Clouds: ON
Difficulty: Hard
FOV: Left
Windows 7 32bit
Java Version 1.6.0_18
Only ESM Client installed, Minecraft 1.1
With 2.2 it only lags generating new chunks.
With 2.3 it always lags.
I was running on max graphics and highest settings. I probably didnt notice it as much due to my computer handling the lag it caused.
But you'll be glad to know that I found part of the problem. Slimes awareness was still at infinite due to it having seperate code and that some of the awareness values were doubled. i.e. The 127 block awareness (max render distance) was actually reading 254, way outside the maximum render distance. I will double check to see if this helped reduce lag.
At daytime 2.4 worked but at night Minecraft lagged very hard. I switched to 2.2 and the lag was mostly gone. Repeated this several times. When not generating new chunks 2.2 seems to be much better for me ?!
The only thing I could guess whats causing all this is probably the amount of paths generated to the player. Other than that I don't know what else could cause it. If so, it probably not something I can fix though I will try
The riddle is why 2.2 works better than 2.3 and 2.4 for me. By the way Minecraft I can play Minecraft with ESM (2.2). Because of the presence of the mobs I can't travel much so I don't get the chunk-generate-lag^^
Im going to give it another shot at removing the lag. This time Ill put a delay when mobs spawn before thier pathing starts. This should give the chunks a buffer to load before the enemies start pathing out of it.

i hope this works. i am having the same problem. it for sure has something to do with the path finding, because when you put the game on peaceful the lag vanishes. it lags so much that it is unplayable for me as well. sad because i had big planes for this mod XD. great idea btw. thanks for all the hard work you put into it. hope you resalve the problem soon. i will be watching for new updates.
it lags when i jump and i only have the xd and yc classes installed it doesnt lag if i move around or walk sprint etc but if i jump it lags while im in the air

By the way thanks for your efforts.
If you do, Ill be glad to know
