I might take some of your suggestions and put it in a seperate version that has 10x the spawn rate, extras and dropped distance in awareness radius. I will also think of optimising the awareness code to match the far fog distance therefore reducing the strain on chunk loading.

Its a bug im working on fixing. It happens usually when loading and unloading chunks that enemies are in. This is because minecraft seems to have issues with mobs trying to pathfind out of inactive chunks. Im currently working on a fix for it. For the time being, to help lower the strain, I would suggest to avoid traveling/flying large distances.
ok, managed to get a SMP server running with this mod + Buildcraft, Industrial Craft, Additional Pipes and BC+IC2 crossover mod. It makes the game so much more difficult.
However, sleeping in beds returns the night to daytime. Is there a way to stop this happening?
So i figured it out, what you said about the chunks loading makes sense because if i did tests and it would run fine during the day, and when it was night it would start to lag. So when i disconnected and loaded it back up again and when chunks started to load my game got 0 fps.
My simple fix of things was that i only but in the xd, yc and mk classes, So mobs could track you down from a large distance and creepers can explode when behind walls. And it runs fine and i can even connect into a world without having it lag.
All set aside, I really love this mod! Its very fun and I plan to do alot with it and eventually ill make my server run this!
Due to blazes only spawning at night, Im pretty sure they inherit the lighting criteria for spawning like other mobs. As for server commands, I will see what I can do for you.
If you intend on changing the code for blaze spawning to ignore lighting, I dont see the point and it could possibly make the surface unsafe all the time ruining part of the mod.
Wow, absolutly fantastic mod Funwayguy! It realy puts importance on creating a stronghold during the day to survive the night.
I do have a rather unique set questions tho; #1. Is there anyway to set this up to work "with" the baddies from either Mo'Creatures and/or Humans+ (or other mods that have evil creatures in 'em)? It would be (I.M.H.O.) extremely cool if you could have those mobs come after you too. #2. Is there a way to implement a way to select which type of mob(s) come to get you?
Im pressed for time at the moment but when i get the chance to update the mod i will put in new options for the server and client versions that should include settings for toggling:
- mod on/off
- blaze spawning
- napalm creepers
- slime spawning
- powered creepers
- breaching creepers
- awareness radius
I will also try to make it compatible with mo' creatures
I attempted to use this mod today for the challenge it offers, and I installed everything correctly, but for some reason, when my world loaded, it lagged so much that it basically froze. Im not sure if it's something with the mod or just my computer, but I was unable to play with this mod. Not even installing just the Infinite awareness part was enough to fix the lag.
Same for me: I noticed that it lags when Minecraft is generating new chunks. If I am in an area previously explored Minecraft runs smoothly. (I am using Client v2.2 on Vanilla Minecraft without META-INF. I tested the whole mod and the only infinite awareness/dynamic targeting part.)
This would be such a great mod but I don't want to be limited to existing worlds, please fix the lag issue for generating chunks !
Ok, ill get to work on fixing that again. Might take a bit longer due to computer issues but i should have it ready in the coming days. the result may limit awareness though.
minecraft 1.2 is going to pathfinding mobs and creepers so the breaching system may be changed so that if there is a way around they wont breach.
