That's a shame. : / I even tried turning off all animations in OptiFine but still ThaumCraft's kept playing. Maybe someone else will be able to help you, since I can't find anything else in the configs.
is it just me or does the tinker tool thing seem like that thingy off doctor who that that nameless doctor guy always has with him?
when I use the recipe book to look at the recipes I get a saving chunks crash when I mouseover the purple armor around the book in recipe for the thaumcraty book thing

It seems that RecipeBook is trying to read an item outside it's range. Me personally would use NEI, as it has the functionality of RecipeBook installed but part of the inventory editor. NEI don't get crashes like the one above, so try use NEI to find the recipe.

The inventory editor part is why I never use mods like nei
they add needless cheat commands that ruin minecraft
and it can read the recipe fine, its the item name it seems to have trouble with
if I go to the page its on no problem its when I mouseover the armor (thaum chestplates or whatever) in the recipe for the thaumawhatever book it crashes(but it doesn't seem to crash from the chestplate being mouseovered in the other recipes...
I was more curious about why it crashed because of something it shouldn't have a problem with
(its kinda annoying if you accidentally slide the mouse and oops crashy crash)
but yeah if you are gonna recommend other recipe viewing mods(to me in place of risugami's which works fine with most mods)please make sure they aren't ones that just add stuff like creative mode stuff to single player (if I need to test items I use a creative map)

Thats why we prefer NEI It's widely configurable, so one is able reduce it to a "simple" recipe book, either in-game or via config file (to disallow switching in-game). And with "simple" being ironic ... there are quite a few plug-ins which allows for showing special "stuff", smelting recipes and crafting ones which do need special machines (besides all infuser recipes, also forestry carpenter and railcraft rolling machine, if those plug-ins are installed of course ^^).
With NEI there is a function to remove the ability of adding items to your inventory, but still see the item pages. I find it useful when I want to see the recipe of an item, but not cheat it.

hmm if nei is to be believed then the recipe recipe book had shown was an error...
nei is showing the recipe as scrolls in place of void or thaum body armor (nei's recipe is more...believable)
Does the thaumcraft stuff just show up randomly around the place like the better dungeons stuff(where you suddenly just walk around and some castle or whatever suddenly generates on a chunk at random)anyway sounds like a fun little mod to play around with
now if only I could work out what was causing my exp chest conflict had to stop using that cause of a conflict or something that I never looked into

Off topic of course; his name is "The Doctor". That's why the title for the show, "Doctor Who", is the joke. It's not funny though, because I just had to explain that is what it is. I must say that the arcane tinker tool doesn't do nearly enough to put it on par with a sonic device, which I suspect could open monoliths on it's own.
Hey, Im just reporting a bug i found. im not sure if it is thaumcraft because it is the first time i have seen this out of the many times i have installed it. When i craft a wooden pickaxe it gives me tcbtaint with an ID of 270. It mines just like a wooden pickaxe and so its fine but i just wanted to mention it.

Yes and no. Thaumcraft 2 won't be updated. Azanor is making Arcanacraft ("Thaumcraft 3") for 1.3 or later.
I'm well aware of Arcanacraft, but I'd rather have this for 1.3, atleast at first. I love the occult, cthulhuesque feel of it, thanks to the pipes and whatnot. I realize he feels that he made 'just another tech mod', but me and my friends would love to be able to play this together.

This is a game breaking problem.
I think he's completely changing the mod around and Thaumcraft won't be getting updated because of the new/revised mod he is creating, which is based almost entirely off of TC. If you'd like to make suggestions there i think he's actaually even asking for players' imputs.
Taint can't spread to man made blocks. So just build a floating base. I use Marble and Basalt from Redpower 2. Also, if you have Equivelent Exchange, the destruction catalyst can destroy taint.

additionally, Thaumcraft has taint control features built into it as well. I would have considered deleting that world before removing the mod all-together. It really is an awesome mod.
Bug Report: When using Thaumcraft, and only when using thaumcraft, the Cloak of Agility from the Aether mod does not function correctly. The cloak is supposed to allow you to walk up a one-block ledge without jumping. When Thaumcraft is not installed, it works fine. With other mods, it works fine.
With Thaumcraft installed, it does not work at all.
Great mod, i was amazed when watching the mod spotlight videos. i have few questions,problems that i need help with.
First of all what does the "NEI_ThaumcraftPlugin 1.0.6.15" do?
i have NEI and thaumcraft at the moment and minecraft is running fine..but when i copy that plugin into the mods folder whenever i open my inventory " i press e" a "saving chunks" screen appear and then minecraft crashes

There's an option in ThaumCraft2.cfg that might help: 'graphics.low='. Change false to true and see if it makes a difference.

I'm well aware of Arcanacraft, but I'd rather have this for 1.3, atleast at first. I love the occult, cthulhuesque feel of it, thanks to the pipes and whatnot. I realize he feels that he made 'just another tech mod', but me and my friends would love to be able to play this together.
I was forced to delete Thaumcraft from my mods due to the fact the taint was completely ruining my map.
The worst part is, I had not started using Thaumcraft items in the world yet.
The world was only 3 hours old ( no Thaumcraft items created yet), and my base with the entire land around it ( as far as I could see) was purple blocks.
This is a game breaking problem.

Retired StaffI think he's completely changing the mod around and Thaumcraft won't be getting updated because of the new/revised mod he is creating, which is based almost entirely off of TC. If you'd like to make suggestions there i think he's actaually even asking for players' imputs.

First of all what does the "NEI_ThaumcraftPlugin 1.0.6.15" do?
i have NEI and thaumcraft at the moment and minecraft is running fine..but when i copy that plugin into the mods folder whenever i open my inventory " i press e" a "saving chunks" screen appear and then minecraft crashes

another thing, what is ThaumCraft2Api0.3? do i place it in the mods folder? what does it do?
and about the "taint" i hear it can corrupt worlds...how to avoid it,stop it from appearing??
