Can we just assume that Jeb isn't going to release 1.3 until the end of next month. So Azanor I think we are desperate for a tease or an update.
I'm sorry to say, but I've run into a bit of an issue in RL involving an unexpected move and some other things. I doubt I will be able do much coding for the next month or two.
I'm sorry to say, but I've run into a bit of an issue in RL involving an unexpected move and some other things. I doubt I will be able do much coding for the next month or two.
Sorry to hear that Azanor, the best wishes to you and your family.
Hope everything goes through smoothly!
[Edit]
Might want to add something to your OP then that you probably wont' be able to be contacted for the next 1-2 months so you don't get millions of PMs.
Dang, hope things get settled smoothly and the issue isn't as much of an issue in the end. Good luck getting everything sorted out and we'll be rooting for you.
We'll clean up all the taint that spawns in the thread too, no worries!
a few questions,
what all do bellows on a crucible and/or a arcane furnace under it do?
if you set a custom vis value in the config for say, the totem of dawn, will it take and let you dupe them?
does optifine just mess up textures, or does it break the mod itself?
very nice mod, keep up the good work(maybe after a delay)
Personally, I don;t have any problem with optifine. Then again I'm not using the current version, but one of the earlier 1.2.5 versions, Sorry, didn't have the version number stored...
The bellows increase the efficiency of both devices, allowing the crucible to produce more vis and less taint, and the Furnace to use less fuel. When used on both stacked up, it has both effects. In that case you don't need ones on the top crucible.
Are yo using MCPatcher for HD support? If so, give OptiFine a try and use MCPatcher solely for building a jar disabling all the patch options.
Yes I am using MCPatcher, but not sure what you mean about solely using it for building a jar... I have used it to install mods unless the mod says it goes in the mod folder. I also downloaded Optifine as you said, started with a clean install, ran MCPatcher, then manually installed Optifine as in opening the jar with winrar and installing. (as I wasnt sure what you meant aboug not patching with MCPatcher, but now I just get a black screen after installing Optifine, I havent even tried to install any mods other than Modloader, ModloaderMP, and Forge) I am soooo lost lol. I have been up half the night trying to figure it out. So guess I will get some sleep and see if I have better luck tomorrow. Since again I am very new to the whole minecraft thing and modding, I got hooked after watching my son play on the xbox, so I bought the pc version, about a week ago.
I was just playing around with the chunkloading seal and I realized, we have no way of seeing which chunks are loaded.
Azanor, would it be possible to add some sot of effect to a chunk which is being forcibly loaded? (perhaps visible only with goggles? (since it would fall under the sort of "chunk analysis" function of the goggles, and the "seeing the unseen"))
maybe the monolith lock/void interface symbols raining slowly down from the sky? or possibly the pink/green sparks from the seal popping into existance for a brief moment to give the area a sort of "obviously affected by magic" look
just something that serves the purpose of telling us that the chunk won't be unloaded, but at the same time, looking nice and possibly allowing us to make a neat "high magic zone" (imagine our thaumotoriums with visibly charged air caused by the sheer magical power rooting the universe in place)
(this is actually the only mod with a chunkloader that has no indicator for a loaded chunk, additional pipes has the lines, railcraft has the nether portal sparkles, this has .... nothing)
oooh, what about bits of floating nitor (but a different colour (I say green ))
get a minimap (I suggest rei's) make it show chunks grid... done, still the chunks borders can be seen trough the values showed by the goggles change, so if you want to do it the hard way just mess around and mark on the surface the chunks borders (also the chunks grid showed by minimaps it's not that precise so again for a perfect border use goggles)...
So no MCpatcher, no Optifine (Optifine lets textures disappear somehow, annoying if there's an almost invisible creeper)
any Idea?
really first time I see this... might be a corrupted mod file... try re-download Thaumcraft 2 again... if this don't solve try with a fresh jar and re-mod again.... might be a forge installation wierdness

540 is "hidden" in Thaumcraft2 CFG (Config)
not really good at java but you seems to have assigned a value major of 256 (that is the max without the 4096 fix)to a block entity go in cfg file and clean your mess
for you. Using the recommended version of Forge (108) instead of the latest (114)
the problem solved itself. Thanks
yes the latest sometimes it's real derpy... eared that with .114 thay're trying to get rid also of modloader so might be causing weird bugs all around...
Edit: 666th post... now I feel really evil!!! also Mark of the Beast O_O never noticed it... Easter egg FTW!!!
MCPatcher comes with his own HD texture patch and a few others (namely "HD Textures", "HD Font", "Better Grass", "Random Mobs", "Custom Colors" and "Connected Textures"). Those must be deactivated (just uncheck them) to use the ones OptiFine provides.
ok gotcha on the uncheck part of that, so can I still use MCPatcher to install the mods, or do I do it manually? And will this allow me to use better texture packs then with Thaumcraft 2?
I really appreciate you taking the time to help a noob SillyBits! Thank you!!
I wanted to throw my alloy furnace into my crucible... It didn't accept it.
Now here's my question:
Does Azanor need a RedPower API or vice versa? xD
and if yes, does any one of you know if it's coming? =D
it's strange the crucible should be able to smelt even mods things as long as they're made of vanilla items and not too complex...
but might be too complex now that I think about it... it requires more than 3 steps...
clay->brick(object)->bricks(block)->Alloy furnace... yes more than 3 it's too complex...

+1. I've been repeatedly suggesting something similar. Pleeeeeze Azanor, make it happen.
get a minimap (I suggest rei's) make it show chunks grid... done, still the chunks borders can be seen trough the values showed by the goggles change, so if you want to do it the hard way just mess around and mark on the surface the chunks borders (also the chunks grid showed by minimaps it's not that precise so again for a perfect border use goggles)...
One should not have to install another mod to gain access to another mod's functionality. Yes, I can map out Chunk Borders with my Goggles and some cobblestone. Should I have to? Probably not. I've considered installing Railcraft JUST for the world anchor, and the nice visual effect that you can toggle on or off. Right now, I'm running Redpower 2, and Thaumcraft. If I have a way to do something in Thaumcraft instead of Redpower 2 (such as crop and mining automation) I'll do it in Minecraft. If there isn't a way to do it in Thaumcraft, I'll build a machine (powered by the Arcane Generator for Bluetricity). If possible, I will try to blend the two.
I'm planning on building a giant flying Arcane Bore machine, using frames, tubes, and the various items from both mods. It will eat the low value items by automatically feeding them into a crucible, which will power the Arcane Generators for bluetricity to power the frame motors, automatic repairer for the arcane focus, and infuser that will automatically pull redstone, glowstone dust, and coal from a supply and create arcane singularities to feed back into the Bore. Taint will be dealt with by using a series of Filters (SCREW THE ENVIRONMENT), Dawn Totems, and Dark-Magic-Magic seals. An earth-magic seal will keep the area around the Bore Platform loaded.
Probably will use the Earth Focus (Wide focus, medium range?) and an extendable "arm" to lower the bore itself down into it's hole so I can hit bedrock. Void chests with Void Interfaces will feed the items back to my base. And of course, a teleport seal will allow me access to the control room, where the whole thing is powered by a Redpower2 computer.
Ok then, have fun with Thaumcraft .... and watch your back, ahem, no, wrong movie ... watch your taint, yeah, better xDDD
Yes, MCPatcher solely for combining those mods into the vanilla jar. And another yes, but I haven't changed TC textures, I like Azanors
Everyone started as a noob ^^ Enjoy TC
Thank you SillyBits!!!!! It works wonderfully now!!! I event tested some really high 256x256 textures and it still works, though all I wanted was the Steelfeather texture pack that is only i think 64x64 that I first started with. Thank you sooo much for your time and help! =D
Now if I may ask one more question, and I will appoligize up front if this problem is not from this mod. but my son was playing yesterday and when he went mining, he ran into a bunch of invisible blocks, he could mine the invisible blocks but not pass through, it was a pretty big area that was that way, and he could see the crystals and lower caverns through the ivisible blocks. We noticed this only after installing this mod for him. He has MCPatcher, but not using any HD texure packs he is using a 16x16 texture. I will also try and install Optifine for him as well, just incase that is it. But he would really like to know what might be causing this.
If you have an Arcane Furnace with 4 Arcane Bellow attached, it boosts smelting speed to 550% as normal, but if you destroy the Arcane Furnace and replace it in the same spot it will only have 100% smelting speed, the same as if it had no Arcane Bellows attached.
The bellows appear to be attached when you place the furnace again, but will provide no boost.
The bellows seem to only boost furnaces if they're placed after the furnace.
Sounds like the chunk didn't load properly.
Did you push escape and wait a few seconds?
And/or:
Is there enough RAM dedicated to Minecraft?
again I am a noob lol, not sure how to check or change the memory, but next time he notices it (he hasnt gone mining again since this happened) I will let him know to try the escape button.
if you press F3 you'll see it in the upper right corner.
alrighty, ty so much, will give it a look.
On another note my son has had more time to play with this mod than I have, just now getting mine to work (Thanks SillyBits). But he was wondering (and we looked on the Thaumcraft wiki pages first) is there a way to plant Silverwood trees, or to get/make saplings. Or are they something just will regrow with time?
Yeah, I don't have to use it often myself. Last time I had to use it was with a lovely crash bug with the BC teleport pipes addon.
HAH, nice. Love the "definition" there.

Crucible is closed, everything out of the crucible. No Vis for you!
