I'm such a noob with this mod lol. Still trying to work it all out entirely, am making a bit of progress lol. It seems really awesome though, I'm sure I'll grasp what I'm doing sooner or later lol.
I think those tainted puffer plant things actually do this already. It makes the corruption self-sustaining.
Perhaps have the Taintspores (That's what their called) evolve over a period of time and have them able to defend themselves?
I don't like the idea of them sucking in Vis to turn it into Taint though that means you'd have to deal with an increasingly fast growing Taint and Petrification.
1. Under normal conditions, I cannot duplicate TotD in a test world where I do not know the discovery.
2. Logging in and out of this test world does not change the result, and restarting Minecraft does not change the result.
3. Logging into a world where I do know TotD, then logging into my test world (where I do not know TotD) results in being able to duplicate.
4. Any subsequent logins to the test world and the duplication still works, as long as I keep Minecraft open.
5. If I close Minecraft, then I have to repeat step # 3 above before duplication works again.
It seems that perhaps, somehow, logging into a world where I know TotD is getting carried over to the world where I do not, as long as its the same session of Minecraft
In any event, my guess is that any duplication of TotD is a bug, since (from my tests) you cannot duplicate Silverwood or TotDusk.
The issue with the duplication has something to do with the way I calculate the smelting/duplication value of items. The first time an item is smelted each session I run an algorithm to calculate its total value from its crafting or infusion recipe. I then cache that value so I don't have to recalculate it.
It doesn't work perfectly for infusion recipes thought. The first time you try and duplicate the item I detect it as a "complex" item since the recipe contains other craftable ingredients. However, during the course of running that algorithm those crafted ingredients get cached. So when trying to duplicate it again later it now allows you to since the recipe ends up being one step less complex according to the algorithm.
I'm not sure I described it correctly, but that is the gist of it.
Ooh, looks like Forge finally got released. Unfortunately it will be a while yet before I can update what with work and such. I will however start making a few updates to the WIKI till I can make an official build of TC 2.1 and release it.
EDIT: by "a while" I mean sometime later tonight, not in a week from now :P.

Will the 1.2.5 version still require ModloaderMP, or is that getting dropped now that forge doesn't require it? At least, it's my understanding that it doesn't...

You know, it occurs to me that the French are, in general, a highly melancholy people. On every street they rue something.
Have you figured out what was causing random infusion recipes to become "shaped" crafting? Stuff like the totems, where you had to arrange the items in a certain way or it wouldn't infuse.
Pretty much the R.Conduits allow a faster pace of moving Vis/Taint and the RA.Pumps are just stronger versions requiring more enchanted wood to make 'em.

I know why it is happening, but it won't be that easy to solve. Since it is a relatively minor bug I left it as is. Fixing it will require a large rewrite of the infusion system which I'm putting off till later.
