Hey im a texture pack artist and was wondering is there anyway you gould provide your gui files in layers? or possible just the designs from your guis? like everything from the gui except the light gray minecraft default gui? cause iys really hard to cut out the infuser disign and make it look clean, same for the recearch table, if you would, im making a dokucraft thaumcraft add on.
I've heard about this! It's called something like Short-Attention-Span or Demands-Instant-Gratification. But hey, who believes all that medical mumbojumbo
If I have only about an hour to play the game each day, does that mean I have short attention span or want instant gratifications?
If I don't know, what this mod can provide, there's next to no chance I would install it even for "a short glance", given the current difficulty of mod installation and conflict resolution.
I DO CAN install mods and resolve ID conflicts, not a big problem, but it takes time and not help me enjoy the game.
Just dawned on me but I cannot check since I'm at work....
Has anybody experimented with seals and pistons? Since the redstone deactivation was removed in TC2, I'm wondering if we can push around / block off the seals with pistons instead.
I couldn't find that anyone have such a problem but encountered it when I placed 2 blank seals. One underground and second right beside the door on surface. It ended in corupting my world. So here is a error code. Hope to help fixing this.

Maybe this was asked before, but I was a bit too lazy to read the 15 (!) new pages written since last time I checked:
Are you still planning to update for 1.2.4 since 1.2.5 is announced for Wednesday?
To use Optifine HD MT B with this and an NVidia card on windows:
1. With Minecraft running, Ctrl-Alt-Delete and Start Task Manager, look for java or javaw that's using quite a bit of ram in the process list
2. Right click this process and hit "Open File Location" Note the location of the java executable that's running
I include these steps as some people have multiple version of java installed and you need to ensure that you're going to setup the proper one
3. Open Nvidia Control Panel
4. Locate Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings (tab)
5. In the Programs drop down, remove Java if it exists (be sure to hit apply after this step just in case)
6. Add a new program, and navigate to the java executable you located previously
7. Change setting "Threaded Optimization" to Off
Relaunch minecraft with Optifine HD MT B and hopefully texture glitches will be no more, it seems to be working for me so far but I haven't been testing it for long, wanted to share this with everyone.
I did not see any response to my bug/compatibility issue, so I will post it again.
Thaumic slimes can spawn too close to the player when spawning naturally. This would not be an issue normally, but if you use Somnia( a mod that simulates the world while you sleep, instead of just changing the time) there is a pretty good chance that you will die in the morning due to a Thaumic slime spawning inside your house(my first house that I died in was just a 2x2x2 hiding place.) This leads me to believe that slimes don't have a min distance they need to be from the player to spawn, as I have died 5 times in hardcore mode due to slimes suffocating me in my sleep.

There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
Something I was thinking would be a neat idea, would be a book, or a tome or something. Something you find early on, that has all the recipes for the beginner stuff on it, and you can put your discoveries into, so they don't clutter the place up. Maybe with a bit of basic information on what vis, aura and taint are. Something like an ingame wiki almost, that we add to as we discover things.
I agree with the above, except that I can't think of a way to implement that properly. I don't think its possible (or would be accepted) to spawn it into the players inventory at the beginning. Making it really common would be annoying as you would keep finding it and that would clutter up the place. I suppose the only thing you could do is make it craft-able but that would just feel...wrong.
Well, I know that I often will wait until I find a village or something, where I find chests with loot, which often winds up being artifacts, before I settle and build. Why not have it spawn in chests like that, and any extras you get can be researched like a common artifact?
By clog I meant the vis was waiting to be consumed by the block so it builds up in nearby conduits.
I was actually planning on allowing the bellows to connect to conduits and effectively increase the pressure in that conduit. Obviously best placed next to a conduit that is adjacent to a machine you want to give higher priority. It will also have the side effect of extending the range of the pressure. The bellows will also be switchable with redstone.
So this means that it will be possible to force Vis towards an empty tank from a Tank that isn't full right? Awesome I can't wait for this, I don't know why but the inability to manipulate Vis like that has turned me off from the mod for now...that and I accidentally corrupted my world losing everything ;( but that was my fault.
I hope that didn't sound like I was dissing this mod. I am not! This mod is the best in existence, I will take no other opinion as valid. Its also pleasantly similar to an idea I had had.

Partly because villages are too rare, so making something so important rely on something so rare is a bad idea. And also because you would still need to account for some problems like what if the player dies carrying the book and can't get back to it in time, or even the book drops in lava. Then you need a way to get a new one...and finding two villages is even harder than finding one.
It would be nice if Thaumcraft payed attention to vanilla minecrafts particle setting. Especially since so many of the TC stuff have particles to go with them so it would be nice to be able to reduce some of the lag by disabling some of them.
I'm sure there is a post on this thread somewhere, i've been through the first chunk and this post is for my own convenience.
What is the verdict on SMP, my friends and I really want to challenge each other. If the post and answer is out there can someone be kind enough to link it to. If not you all can ignore it since this is a selfish post. Do love the mod like no other!
Guessing is you don´t care this pic becomes added to the wiki.

Not %success, they add speed. You can test it seeing the numbers.

Just an idea.
