DON'T CHANGE THE NAME!!!! It's not copy right infringement, it's more like tribute to one of the greatest authors ever. Who cares if people can't pronounce it? This gives them the opportunity to learn proper pronunciation, so let 'em whine if they can't figure it out, 'cause it's never too late to go back over elementary school lessons about what noises letters make when put together.
Agree. Even if you changed the name, what's that power called? Still Thaum.
If people can't pronounce Thaumcraft, they can't pronounce Thaum.
So, either you change the whole thing, or leave it there :sad.gif:
I think you should change the name to Thaumcraft, and I think mostly everyone else would agree, due to how alike the mod is to the same thaum from the Terry Pratchett novels. I see it as a tribute to how great the discworld series are.
There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
After playing around with this for the past few days I thought the mod was extremely well thought out and has A lot of room for expansion.
although I would like to see some items that can be charged with the infuser that have a certain amount of uses.
I did notice that when there were large amounts of thaum pipes, nodes and condensers (say filling about a 5X5X4 grid) my game performance plummeted from 150-65 to about 3-7 fps

I'm still weighing my options. I might keep the name of the mod (Thaum is just a derivative of the word Thaumaturgy), but I will definitely need to remove the Discworld references.

Any specific configuration that caused this? I used way larger conduit systems in my test worlds on my crappy work laptop and never experienced significant slowdown.
Do you experience the lag even when there is no thaum in the system? It might be caused by the transparent textures. I'm considering removeing them as well and just using the vanilla minecraft glass look for the piping. Too many people are complaining of issues with Optifine.
Letting you know that I started adding this mod to the Item Descriptions. It is currently only used by Crafting Table II to allow descriptions of items to appear when a player mouses over the item.

I havent had a chance to look at the mod yet, but the name for the portable hole is thaumportablehole
Okay will use that for now until you get a look at it.

So I'm also using Metallurgy, and I'm trying to add its ores and such to the Thaum.cfg so the Crucible can break them down, but I can't seem to do it right.
Those are the item names, from Shadow, but after adding ItmCopperBar according to your example (I set it at 2 since it's SO common) it still gets spit back out at me with zero thaum gain. Any idea how to fix?
I had a look at the metallurgy thread and I noticed you tried to use this:
I am having a hard time thinking of Pratchetty descriptions for the items: Item Descriptions

Actually while attempting to recreate the lag it seems I have narrowed it down to the crucible specifically an overflowing one.
If it helps I took a screenshot of the lagspike that happens when the crucibles overflow, however I used about nine of them to intensify the effect my fps does drop severely if just one of them overflows. lagspike
and one more notable thing; i'm using the technic pack in its entirety so im not sure if this plus one of the mods is conflicting with each other to cause the lag.

Oh wow, look at all those nodes.
Several issues may be causing this - the transparent textures on the crucible when they overflow; the items being smelted (more complex items require more cpu time); all the updates required to get the thaum flowing into all those nodes.
Additionally, if there is no available space around the crucibles for puddles to form it might cause lag (due to crappy programming on my part). I've improved that in my current dev version.
Add higher levels with the thaumic singularities.
NOTE: unstable thaumic singularity = UTS
stable thaumic singularity = STS
make a "Unstable Thaumic Apocalyptic Bomb" by using 2 STS's in a thaumic infuser.
More devastating
stabilize an Unstable Thaumic Apocalyptic Bomb by using an infusion mold.
EVEN MORE DEVASTATION :laugh.gif:
And...
make something that, when a STS goes off, makes all items appear at the place where another STS goes off.
control this via a Thaumic Singularity Controller
And it has different "frequencies"
So u can easily mine stuff.
And put a :smile.gif: on my face.
i LOVE the thaumic singularities
P.S. I think you should keep the name to ThaumCraft
Also change the name of Enchanted Fabric to "Infused Fabric"

Defintely planned

Missing portable hole at the moment.
Is that good or bad? If it was a jeb face I would say good, but I am not sure about notch face.
Btw, what is the portable holes code name?
Also what do you think of my description of the obelisks at the moment.
That is the "iapprove" smiley :smile.gif:

I had a quick look at it and the name you are actually looking for would be item.thaumportablehole
The descriptions look good to me :smile.gif:
I had a look at the metallurgy thread and I noticed you tried to use this:
SMELTING.copper_bar=2
SMELTING.copper_ingot=2
SMELTING.bar_copper=2
SMELTING.ingot_copper=2
SMELTING.block_copper=2
SMELTING.item.copper.bar=2
SMELTING.copper_vein=2
It is case sensitive so if the item is called "Copper Bar" then you need to add:
Item Descriptions
Much obliged :smile.gif:
Just a note - the range of the nodes is pretty generous - roughly 15 squares between node and symbol.

Just so the post isn't wasted: Could I request a Forge version, if only to not use terrain indexes please?
