When Thaumcraft 2 does come, I figure I may need to remake or rework a previous Thaumitorium, but then again... would there be any sort of issues if I use an old world?
So (Here comes a pointless story) I quit Minecraft for four months and came back. I heard the Aether had finally been released... I was excited, I was getting ready to upload all the mods I used to have. I looked through the yogbox to see if anything new had been added, and I found this. Thaumcraft. I have fallen in love with this mod. It is the greatest add-on I've ever seen. But I can't seem to get it to work. I seem to have really bad luck because I finally come back to find all these mods... and Minecraft updates to 1.2.
Does the mod not work because the mod itself needs to be updated, or could I simply be doing something wrong? I got Mod-loader, then Mod-loader MP, then I got Forge. I put the mod in the correct folder, but when I start minecraft, it either fails and goes to the old black-screen or it goes to the Minecraft Updating screen, with the green bar nearly full (And it continues to stay like that till I close it).
So in short, my question is: Am I doing something wrong, or should I just be patient?
I really should have checked deeper into the forum post for more info on this, but I didn't. Bear with me.

Yes, the mod itself need to be updated. And it will take some times, as both modloadermp and Forge need to be updated. And probably Azanor will move directly to Thaumcraft2 without updating TC1.
So if you want to play now, you need to downgrade to 1.1.
TC2 will probably have SMP, but not in the first relase. You'll need to await a bit.

I was planning on releasing TC2 with SMP support, but I've decided against that now. SMP will be released eventually, but I'm going to avoid giving an ETA for that.
I'm not dropping SMP - I'm just releasing TC2 without it at first so I can get it out there. SMP is next on my list after that.
Unfortunately there really won't be a way to convert TC1 to TC2. The block and items have been coded completely differently and work differently as well. You will have to create new worlds to use TC2 or make sure and remove every single TC1 item from you world before upgrading to tc2.
Theoretically you could run both tc1 and tc2 together if you play with the block-id's a bit which would allow you to easily use old worlds, but the blocks and such won't be compatible.

I can never find any eldritch trees. I've looked for about 30 minutes, it's not on peaceful. I have the right version of the mod. I've only seen one, but that was at the very start, and I didn't know what it was. Any tips?

The trees aren't common and they only spawn at night, so if you sleep through the night you won't find any.
I'm deciding which mod I'll be using in an upcoming series between ThaumCraft 2 and EE 2, for 1.2. Basically, which ever updates first. I'm hoping it's you.

I just want to make a real game now but i read something with a broken world in Thaumcraft 2 which is nearly released. Should i wait for a TC2 release and then starting to get the best TC experience ? Or i play TC1 and can convert my world ?

Yeah, NEVER EVER give an ETA for SMP (and for that matter never give an ETA for any hot feature) because then people will jump on you like you killed a family member when you don't meet the deadline due to that one nasty bug.
Also, count me in too for the bug-testers list, loved this mod since when it first came out. But not for like the next week because ME3 is coming out tomorrow.

Hopefully by the end of march. Depends on how quickly I can finish the research system, hunt bugs, balance stuff, etc.
