I actually really enjoyed creating constructs combining mob farms with the soul crucibles and using the vis from that. So... any chance of an update please :D?
I realize that Arcana craft is meant to replace thaumcraft, but if you feared thaumcraft would turn into a sort of utility mod or whatever, there's nothing wrong with that o3o is it possible to keep developing thaumcraft alongside arcanacraft :D?

ive set up a new heavily modded yet simplified 1.2.5 single player game with an emphasis on magic, combat and exploration. thaumcraft 2 and to a lesser extent equivelent exchange 2 are the "main mods", with none of those pesky tech mods (well other than powercraft and thats just so I can have easy to make chest sorting devices) and only one new ore. Bolstered by better dungeons, the ruins mod, mo creatures, more creeps and weirdos, extrabiomes, twilight forest and tropiccraft-among a few others and a custom made texture pack cobbled together from many sources. Can anyone suggest other lesser known mods that would go well with thaumcraft2? (something thats not redpower, industrialcraft, buildcraft or any of the mods in that incestuous family) And if anyone is interested in playing along, I can share my configs.

I can get for this time an automatic energy system for the quarry of buildcraft. Here is my design, this afternoon I was searching in youtube and in the web how could I carry the energy to the engines but the energy has to go directly to quarry. Here is the design.
I love thaumcraft 2 and Im a big fan of thaumcraft in general! I know this mod is probably discontinued due to Thaumcraft 3 being released but I was hoping it could be updated to be compatable with the upcoming redstone update! I imaging they would work well together with storage minecarts unloading items into crucibles and redstone comparators being used to detect how full a crucible is! It would really be awesome if there could be 1 last update for thaumcraft 2 :> Sorry if you get asked this alot but i Just love thaumcraft 2 !
I'm playing Thaumcraft 2 in technic pack, and i accidentally made my home near a very ungenerous Tainted piece of land. It's growing fast. Is there some sort of thing I can make to prevent it from getting to my house?

Silverwood trees( those white mystical trees) will stop its growth, or you could put down manmade blocks like steps or planks around it
Hey there. First of this is a great mod. I was playing it on yogbox. I was worrying about my taint levels increasing in/around my house, so I looked up on how to reduce it. Wiki suggested I built a nullification seal (dark-magic or dark-magic-magic). I did it but suspected it not working, so I built a Crystal Ball to see if it was working. It told me the seal had no effect.
Later I looked up my TC2 version and changelogs on this topic to discover that the seal combination I built hadn't been implemented in my version (2.0.2 :S ) and neither the Thaumonomicon which means a lot of wiki searching or note taking for me which I don't like. Anyway, I couldn't update it to a better version inside the yogbox and after trying to install the correct version TMI for my Minecraft (yogbox 1.2.3), I thought it would be fine. I was gonna cheat some basic stuff in. Anyway, the game crashed with "saving chunks" message after a half minute or so never to be opened again. Still "saving chunks".
My TC2 progress so far has been: a crucible above arcane furnace with 4 arcane bellows, one vis storage tank, 4 vis filters, thaumic infuser, separate dark infuser with its own crucible, quaesitum with bookcases (5x5x2) with a brain-in-a-jar in the setup. Not many useful things have been crafted discovery-wise: axe of the stream, and several useful looking, non-realized discoveries.
TL;DR:
I decided to create a new world with a fresh TC install without yogbox on 1.4.7. Should I go with latest TC2 or TC3? I watched a couple videos on TC3 on youtube. It seems many things have been changed. Like taint is replaced with flux and it has no physical form and I think the Thaumic Infuser is replaced with Infusing Altar or something and research /infusing seem to be very different from TC2.
Should I continue my TC2 experience (I'll probably use TMI to get back to the point in my previous world) or just start a new TC3 game?
You get the recipes by doing research. This is a very good and probably the only beginner's guide for TC2 without spoilers: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/archenterons-beginners-guide-thaumcraft-2.12330/ It tells you how to start up on researching and what you need. Furthermore, if you craft Thaumonomicon, it will list all the currently available recipes for you.
The mod pack I built for above campaign includes: Thaumcraft 2 (latest version of 2), NEI, Better Dungeons, Airship, Keep Inventory, Rei's Mini Map, Enchanting Plus, Ropes Plus (for Elemental Arrows), Inventory Tweaks, Crystal Wing, Millenaire, Crafting Table III. Forge is the choice to load these mods. Texture pack is Painterly for Yogbox.
For me the this Thaumcraft was the best, I hope that the coder or someone update this mod to 1.5.2 or 1.6 in the future... The research method, the taint zones, the vis, the monolith....the sword of zephyr with the big jump...awesome mod, I recently played ars magica trying to look for something similar to thaumcraft 2 in actual minecraft but ars magica is so far from thaumcraft 2. Sometimes I think how can be the next step of this mod and I can imagine other places with the continue of research of monoliths, trading change with villagers, npcs.... I hope that this mod continue. I like Thaumcraft 3 buts for me is not the same. Thaks anyway to Azanor for create an awesomes mods.
