Thanks! I was looking for that option in Sounds and Projectile, but it was under Ranged settings.
About making them stop following, that didn't work. Shift clicking them does nothing, If I right click them it opens a menu where I can tell them to wait. What I wanted to do is to "unhire" them, so they return to their original spot to be hired again, but I guess that's not possible without scripting.
I am using the mod "beneath" and i have kept natural spawning for the mob here. But it is not reflecting. If anyone has a solution please let me know. Any suggestions or help with this would be highly appreciated.

No, that's really an original question. I think you could run a scripted block from a command block and change the position of the npc and reset him also with the same - or different - scripted block
I'm experiencing an issue in 1.10.2. I created some NPCs several months ago then began work on a project in a different part of the world. Now I've returned and all their eyes are "Greyed over".... like they're all darkened, the whites are grey, or the eyelid color is white...
This applies to all NPCs I have placed or newly place anywhere. On any world. I have tried running ONLY CustomNPCs with no texture packs, and the problem persists. Can anyone offer a solution for this?
Worth noting, this doesn't apply to the model when editing, or changing the colors, just on the the outside.
EDIT: Closer inspection shows that when the Eyebrow and eyelid color is right, the actual eyes are darkened (Grey whites and darker colors) and when the eyes are normal, the lid and and brow are lighter than they should be. Also, sometimes eye color is lighter or eyes are too bright....

So i was wanting to tell you about a mod called Skinport. it basically allows you to use 1.8+ steve and alex model skins in 1.7.10! so i was wondering if you can talk to the creators of this mod and see if you can make it useable with More Player Models and Custom npcs. If not with Custom npc's then how about Custom npc's 2? if you do make Custom npc's 2 here's a few features!

-Use of 1.8+ skins in 1.7.10
-Both Steve and Alex Skin models
- Feature that allows you to give your Npc a personality making respond to what you say in chat by putting @Npc Name. and acts like a player. And also does what you want it to such as mining ores. Npc can choose not to do something if their not interested or don't want to go without you.
- Phone item now has the ability that lets you talk to Npc's without typing @Npc name.
-Features of your Choice!

As far as I know, Minecraft only has static lights. There are a few mods that add mobile lights by creating static light sources at your position and updating them every few ticks. You could try Dynamic Lights mod and give a torch to an NPC, but I'm not sure if that's gonna work.

I'm trying to make a "homemade" flying NPC in 1.7.10. (As I understand it, even in 1.11 the flying AI is wonky).
I have the flying creature mounted on an invisible orb - for all intents and purposes, it looks like the NPC is flying. However, NPCs can't use melee attacks while mounted.
Using projectiles with very short range just gets the mounted creature to accidentally punch its invisible orb mount.
How do I cause a set amount of damage to the player whenever he collides with the creature?
I've tried using an Instant Damage effect with the Collide tab but it doesn't seem to work, or I am just typing that aspect of the code incorrectly.

I'm not sure if it's been fixed for later versions, but I've tested using only forge and CNPC 1.7.10 installed.
I've tested all the shields and I've tested it agains hand held weapons plus arrows, but the shields don't absorb any damage.
According to here, they are supposed to absorb all the damage: http://www.kodevelopment.nl/minecraft/customnpcs/items
I've built a Player Character class around being able to use shields and function as a "tank" like character, but this is a deal breaker.
I know 1.7.10 is older now, but if you could patch it with a fix I wold be happy to throw a donation your way.

You can by adjusting its agro range
select npc - AI - movement - rotation set this to manual then nr 0 to 359 wil give you a direction.
See what number you want to get it to stand and look the way you want.

It works! I just tried it with the 1.7.10 version of Custom NPC's. Both a torch or a gold helmet do the trick.
Is it possible for ranged flying NPCS not to directly straight up blitzkrieg a melee npc? (1.10)
All flying NPCS I create, despite adjusting tactics, and ranged range... They still charge towards ground level.
