So I can't create NPC's in singleplayer...
I know I've seen more people have this problem, but I can't find any post that says how to fix this, if possible.
I can create NPC's without problems in multiplayer (as long as I don't have mobspawn off in WG) but nothing happens when I try in singleplayer. I use this mod for my server mainly but still got to ask if there is a fix for this?
I also tried your testversion (version 1) but no difference, didn't work with that one either.
Is there any commands to spawn NPC's instead?
Also, tried the cloner but couldn't use that one either. The GUI showed up but if I chose a mob (since no NPC's exists because of the issue) nothing happened.

Well. I found out how to fix it on my own (yeay! :P).
changing "only let ops create npcs" to false in config was all I needed to do.
The video is outdated things change with every update I put out. The mob spawner and npc cloner were merged.
I've been playing around with this a while now. My biggest problem is that I have no clue to how the command block works. Why didn't they just make it send commands as either the player or server? hmf.
Anyway. If you ever feel like going deeper into the commands-part of the mod I'd love if you somehow make this work together with bukkit plugins better. I have no idea how you'd do this so just see it as a wishful idea. Also the command block commands. If you could instead make it send the command as either the player or the server (being able to choose if the command should be sent as player or server). This way an NPC could use a all commands a server supports which would mean commands from plugins as well.,
Again. This is just my little wishlist. Love the mod.

I think I got the command dialog to work. Im guessing thats what you are talking about?
If I send it as a player the player will need the rights to the command, otherwise it wouldnt work. I think I fixed it for mcpc+ users. If you want to test it try this Test Version

I'm not sure what this is caused from, but today I have encountered a bug with custom skins being loaded into the mod.
I have a custom skin and sound pack for a server I run, and it worked great. Recently, I logged onto the server to realize none of the custom skins were there (Purple and Black missing texture).
I checked my assets folder, and the custom npc folder was completely empty. And now everytime I try and upload the skinpack to the assets folder, they instantly get wiped and do not show within the server.
Anyone know whats causing this or a fix for this? Thanks.
Ps. This is happening to all players on the server, so I would imagine its not just my server, and everyone with custom skins on customnpcs.
I just put all custom things inside the .zip instead. As long as that doesn't update it's all there.
I did this because I had problems getting it to work with a folder. Never really had the time right then to figure out where the hell to put it so I just put it all in the npc mod-zip together with custom sound and all
When it come to using the folders. Try write protect it.
Amazing mod! We are using it in our custom mod pack for our server. It is running fine for us, even with our 50ish other mods, including MoCreatures etc. We are on 1.5.2, using latest forge for 1.5.2 and MCPC+. We have run our mod pack for about 8 months, before we added Custom NPC's, and it used about 1.5-2GB memory to run. We added Custom NPCs for 1.5.2 about 2 weeks ago, our server boots up with about the same amount of memory. But over a few hours the memory usage just keeps going up. After about 5 hrs or so I will restart the server, after it has hit about 5GB of memory used. We have ~20 NPCs created at spawn, mainly guards and traders. We are really wanting to get in depth with this mod, adding quests, custom bosses, clans etc.
Is it normal for the memory usage of this mod to continue to just keep climbing or is this a possible memory leak? I have watched, and the memory climb only occurs when there are players online. As soon as no one is online, the memory climb stops, but it does not ever go back down.

Currently working on the conversation job. Seems to work pretty well. They are going to have availability options and are going to be able to start quests as well.

We're not sure if we're going to update to 1.6.4 or not. One of our big mods, Legend Gear hasn't updated to 1.6.4, and it's looking like they may wait to update to 1.7. All our other mods have updated, so if that one updates, will will go to 1.6.4.
I'm glad you may have found the leak... we will get by until we update. When we update I will let you know how the memory behaves.

Yea really, luckily I had most of my skins backed up, but wow this really bites. My worlds are now populated by untextured beings.

NPC drop down, how to fix?
Npcs sometimes sink into the ground. Its a minecraft bug. What version are you on? I think its happening less in 1.6

It would be nice if you all new versions of fashion under the old version did Lane (1.5, 1.6)
From 1.5 to 1.6 minecraft changed the way textures are loaded, it's just not possible to give support for older versions.
