Hey I know that you have most likely been asked this before but are you working on an updated version of the mod. I have tried everything from putting the forge on 1.5.2 to trying out the 1.6.2 forge but whenever I put the mod in the game would just crash. I think its because the mod is still only for 1.5.2... I cant seem to work the 1.5.2 forge anymore so having an updated version of Custom NPC would be helpful thanks!
Honestly, you could easily have scrolled up and looked for yourself instead spamming the page with requests for 1.6.2 ... This mod is being worked on, but its such a complex mod and the changes of the 1.6 update means this mod needs to undergo a lot of work before it'll be ready. Just be patient
How long will it take for Noppes to rewrite the mod? I keep having to use villagers as placeholders for my Npcs. I also have a world that I can't go in to because it will remove all my Npcs.

as a random guess i'd say around 1-2 months due to the content (custom ai, items, guis etc.) unless noppes and dark sig. are much better than half the modders i've seen (more then likely)

the mod is being rewritten, so you'll have to wait for 1.6.2
If you require aid with Custom NPC's give me a shout (In the thread, not PM's). I can read a bit of error reports, know most of the NPC workings (I'm attempting to work on scripting) and have been using it since its 1.0 version. Otherwise I'll help with any questions or problems I can.
Good news first; we have gotten the mod stabilized, and are currently in the process of fixing the remaining bugs caused by the change in resources. We have recently gotten everything compatible with the resource packs (including a new asset browser), and all we have to do now is tweak our skin loader and re-fix a couple of ill-rendered guis. I have also already implemented some of the changes mentioned earlier, such as new AI, a sound menu, and a few new quest features.
The bad news however is that we can't give any accurate ETA on when the mod's ready for official release. Rest assured however, the chances of the release being more than a month from now like the guy above me says are absurd: we're not far behind schedule, but we're not quite polished yet either. With Noppes being in and out of contact recently, it's been difficult to coordinate our priorities as effective as we normally do. If however all goes smoothly, we may have the mod ready for release by the end of next week, but be warned that is by no means a promise.
Since I play most of time on Creative mode, I'm waiting for all mods I have change to 1.6.2 so I can update my Minecraft 1.5.2 to it. Custom NPCs is also included :3
Really hoping for custom Models be included in the next update.
Can you post a recipe page for all the items in this mod?
That could be really helpful.
Actually, you can check them in-game, the only thing is that you need to use the carpentry bench
instead of a crafting table, actually, you can edit them and create your own recipes, you can check
while in the Custom NPC menu, on the global tab and in "recipes"
Don't quote me on this, but I doubt this will be implemented it the near future. DarkSignal and Noppes may have other ideas of models to implement. Also, they have to fix the things with the current models, pushing the idea back a bit. It's lovely seeing the community come up with ideas for mods, but suggestions are more easily implemented after a rewrite. Perhaps in a few weeks or so, if the mod is updated, you could suggest this again, but nobody wants too much extra work inside of the update.
I don't want to say anything to confirm/deny any ideas, because DarkSignal kinda pwned the last guy who mixed speculation and the word "will" without actual resources.
Well you could make your centaur model on techne, and expect Noppes and DarkSignal to implement the custom model option soon, which it's all now just a possibility.
This may be a far-out there request, but I use SmartMoving on my server and was wondering if there's any way to make NPCs who can use it (i.e. climb iron railings, crawl through 1x1 logs, etc) Not sure if that's an easy or a hard addition, but I figured no harm in asking...

This being one of my favorite mods I've ever played, I'm incredibly excited to hear that they're getting close to updating. Hoping for more models!!
likewise, but if we're going to have to wait on that. noppes and darksig. are updating the mod to 1.6+ first before any major content addition, a week to wait for that i recall? am i about right?

at the earliest yes, but the time frame expands from about a week to about two weeks, so no promises.
Had a rather annoying incident on our WIP rpg/pvp server. One of the builders made a bunch of zombie NPCs, then forgot where they had been created -.- I used the NPC wand to try to search for them, but it only covers NPCs in the immediate area. Is there anyway to search globally for a lost NPC? Could global search be a feature in the next incarnation of the mod or so?

Well, that's disappointing, but thanks for the info none the less
Oops.

In your minecraft/config folder, you can change the start IDs there.
