another bug with the new pre-version, when you annoy a neutral npc that has been set to shoot you, and you spawn near them, they continue to shoot at you instead of forgiving you upon death, they also shoot through walls to get you?
If you require aid with Custom NPC's give me a shout (In the thread, not PM's). I can read a bit of error reports, know most of the NPC workings (I'm attempting to work on scripting) and have been using it since its 1.0 version. Otherwise I'll help with any questions or problems I can.
Hey thanks this has been a great mod. I have had a few errors but i have been waiting for the fixes.
--First error- Talking to banker would cause game to crash. Updated to newer version and haven't checked.
--Most recent and only problematic error would be NPC's being part way in the ground.
Posted Yesterday, 05:27 PM Fixed most of the reported bugs. Except for the weird bug tobbiusness is having, because that seems like a forge bug and the not being able to attack lying npcs, thats being worked on
umm... checked the new factions with beta and saw faction points, is there a way to offset this with dialogue/quests/attacking that faction yet?
Nope not yet. Im working on it
I'm using this Build with the reset axis and NPC's are half way in the ground. This includes me trying to place new NPC's.
Thanks man!
--Edit--
Ok so It appears its necessary to have the Axis set to 5 5 5 or the npc's will be in the ground. For now i can manually put all the npc's to that and it appears to fix it. Its just redoing all my current NPC's.
EDIT: why does my npcs dont wander around? they keep standing in 1 spot
i think the new pre-release fixes that

How to make a faction attackable? It seems I can't attack previously (before the beta) attackable factions.
Does it has something to do with faction points?
with new pre-release old npcs half in the ground bug still persistent, npcs see your when your invisible, also the pathfinding bug was another corruption, could you check your downloads?

There seem to be some problems with the rendering for the pony models in the pre-release. They don't render the wings or horns like they did in the previous version, and the lying down stance is also bugged.
I also find myself missing the old standing-no body rotation with head rotation setting in the pre release. It was really nice for making alert-looking guard npcs that didn't have a tendency to turn around and stare at the wall behind them, but no longer seems to be available, which is quite a shame.
there must be some sort of "culling box" for the player model that stays the same when you scale the npc,
so when you look up in the sky a npc size==10 disappears at the same time as a normal sized npc.
1. cursor over black woolblock both visible
2. view a bit higher, cursor over yellow woolblock both npcs are invisible
Something similar happens to pony models of any size, the hind end will be culled if the front end is not visible. Not sure how much control noppes has over that stuff, but I suppose it can't hurt to mention under the circumstances.
ok when i load the pony model no wings at all,
but when i toggle the texture/player button in the display tab they reappear ?!?!?
please try it out @El Destructo
[EDIT]
i tested it with "MineLP Cloud Kicker" don´t know if all of them have wings
Indeed, that seems to be a workaround for the horn and wing problem.
The effect persists to at least one following chosen skin on that specific NPC if it shares similar features.
If you do the trick on a pony with both wings and horn, you can move to any pony texture with either of the two and it will continue to display them properly.
On the other hand, if you do this trick on one with only a horn and then try to move to one with both, it will only display a horn until you swap modes again.
This effect can be lost if you change to something without the features on it, until you use the trick to apply them again.
Sorry if this has been asked already, but how about allowing us to shift-click during transactions with a trader? It gets old when you have a lot of items to buy or sell to a merchant.
Also, it might be useful if people submitted how they set up their traders and money so everyone can save a little time by either adopting or modifying an existing system instead of starting from scratch.
Noppes could you please explain faction points? How to make an attackable npc that will not attack until you attack first? I don't get it how to do it?
I still don't see any working recipe. I try to make the hoe with bread-head and nothing works. Custom NPCs shows up in Minecraft's list of active mods, but can't I craft the tool. The zip file (1.4.6) is in Forge's mods directory. I'm using Minecraft 1.4.7 with Forge Universal installed. I don't get it.
Just a suggestion, but it would be nice if you could give NPCs optional immunity to things like fire, fall damage, etc., and maybe designate them as "undead" (affected by Smite) and "arachnids" (affected by Bane of Arthropods). Maybe poisonous NPCs, too?

The pre-release version already grants immunity damage such as fire and drowning (fall damage is in the works too), and in that same version it's also possible to add potion effects to NPC attacks. Designations as undead and arachnids aren't on the todo list unless we have any model that even remotely resembles some kind of insect.
On an unrelated note, Noppes had told me that allowing NPCs to occupy beds during the night has been a rather popular request, so you can look forward to that too.

Ok, so you have two boxes. One of them has friendly below it, the other aggressive above it. the numbers in between these ones will have the faction be neutral towards (a) player(s), while numbers above or below will be friendly or aggressive. to have a faction be neutral, set points option to be a number somewhere between the two

hey noppes, to fix the position offset that means we have to reset our old npc, could you leave it how it was before but instead add up to, or down to -9 instead? it would save map makers a bit of trouble, and its simpler than the 5.5.5
