Did you set your aggro range? Maybe try increasing the attack range for the npc.

2, Is the NPC standing on or in any modded blocks or liquids, And if yes, what? (Probably won't effect anything.)
3, Are any Ichun Portals visible?
4, Are the NPCS visible on your minimap when you spawn them?
5, does it happen on single player as well as on the server?

So I have used the 1.7.10 version for over a year now on my server and then about 2 months ago all of a sudden the URL links no longer work no matter what I do. Then I tried to add the skin files to the jar folder (following a tutorial on YT) and it just gave me broken textures. Can anyone help me at all? My server is based around these NPCs as it is an RP server with quests (well I mean the server is shut down atm but we are wanting it to come back up). Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to get the files to work in the Jar or the urls to work. Upgrading to a newer version is not an option as the majority of the mods I use are not upgraded past 1.7.10 and I don't want to lose my core mods. Please someone, anyone help me!

1 : Essentially, yes. It has something to do with the client loading the npc, as the crash occurs either when an npc is first created, or when a player logs into an unloaded chunk where npcs are already present.
2 : It varies. We're using biomes o plenty, so they could be standing on practically anything. Grass, modded grass, ash, etc.
3 : No, there are not.
4 : Yes, they are.
5 : No, it does not. In fact, it seems as though singleplayer corrects the issue, as following the crash, if a player logs into singleplayer and spawns an npc, they can then approach or spawn near an npc on the server without issue. Though obviously, I would prefer to fix the issue itself rather than use this method.

Referring to the skin urls, are the urls using 1.7 skins instead of 1.8 skins? There is a similar error in 1.8 when you try and use a 1.7 skin on an npc. it's possible that you need to use 1.8 skins on them.
Your note about broken textures leads me to believe that you're using the wrong type of skin texture on them, or perhaps it's formatted improperly.
Hmm. It seems to be something on Custom NPCS end. At first, I thought it might've been a problem with your minimap crashing as it might of not knownwhat icon to assign the npc.
Anyway, i'll take it up with noppes on the CNPCS discord. Good spot for stuff like this.

Skins for 1.8 and higher dont work. You need to convert the skins.
Another question: Is there any way to use un-localized strings instead of hard-coded strings? I've had requests to translate my modpack, which has CustomNPC dialog. To translate those, you'd need an entirely different set of dialog jsons for each language, meaning a different version of the modpack for each language. It would be far easier (for me) to have the dialogue reference un-localized strings that are then turned into full dialogue by en_US.lang, etc. That way, users could select their language from the minecraft main menu instead of having to upkeep and maintain different versions of the modpack.
If this is not currently a capability, how would I request it?

Hmm... well, it's good that Noppes will become aware, but if this is a bug with NPCs, is there anything I can / should do on my end? For example, seeing as he's working on 1.11 and higher now, would he release a backport update to fix this? Has he done so in the past? Because updating the server after getting all of this set up will be a nightmare...
I have a question about respawns. There are 5 different options. The first 4 make sense to to me (yes, day, night, and no), but the last one (naturally) I don't get. is it for the natural spawns, or is it unrelated?

Whenever I try to edit the Custom NPCs' inventory, the game crashes. This has never happened before. Can you please fix this?

Anyone have any idea how to tint Custom NPCs? I can't seem to tint anymore like i could in previous versions...

Referring to the skin urls, are the urls using 1.7 skins instead of 1.8 skins? There is a similar error in 1.8 when you try and use a 1.7 skin on an npc. it's possible that you need to use 1.8 skins on them.

If you convert the skins and dont use BIG letters, it should work fine

Anyone having a strange problem of the leg/arm textures just both being the same leg/arm? (Example, look at the pants of every steve skin.)
