Hi brandenissp00n i'm SniperM82A2 and i see you need a little help on coding your mod. I am making a mod just like your, that is adding Lapis Tools, but i'm having a problem of making the Lapis Lazuli cook to turn into Lapis Ingot. Can you help me? i'll help you too :wink.gif:
PS: I'm Brazillian, and i dont know how to speak English very well, so if you add me on Skype i'll not talk ok? :S
that is sort of stealing my mod dude. but i'll help you add something else instead pm me your skype name.
Look i dont want to steal anyone's mods, i just wanna help you, i was just telling that i was making a mod like yours, i want to help you out, but i was just telling, ok?
add me on skype marc078910
I really like the new recipes and items but the mod crashes Minecraft when I try to use it.
I'm getting this error:

Pity really.
EDIT:
I think the problem is that I dropped the zip into the mods folder instead of putting the files in minecraft.jar. Normally that shouldn't be a problem but it appears that you've modified some Minecraft classes which I think is causing the problem. UIt would probably be a good idea to put that on the first page as well.
The mod loads fine now but because I'm running other mods I've run out of sprite ID's (Millenaire and Tale of kingdoms are sprite hogs)
BTW your mod is will be incompatible with Flintcraft as both modify the dj.class file.
EDIT 2
I'm an idiot. I forgot to remove the zip file from the mods folder, everything works fine now

ok thanks for the info im hoping in the next update i can make it so none of the base classes are edited and it will work by putting it in the mods folder
Now that I can play the mod I've been working on icons compatible with my favorite hi-res texturepack PureBDCraft128x.
This is what I've done so far:
This first icon is the obsidian block as it appears in PureBDCraft (for comparison sake), the second is my take on the obsidian gem which I've made to look more like a shard. Below those are swords and pickaxes in 2 different styles because I can't decide which one I prefer. The pair on the left are a more traditional style in the while the the pair on the right are more rustic looking.
They're more for my own use at the moment but If you like them I can put together a compatibility patch

To be honest i have no idea wat u mean by compatibility patch cause i know noting bout texture packs and stuff like that.

Basically when you use a hi-res texture pack (like the 128x128 pack that I use) vanilla Minecraft icons (at 16x16) look blocky and out of place. So essentially a compatibility patch contains replacement icons that match the style and resolution of the pack in question that so that your mod will fit in.

ok kool it would be awesome if you could make a patch for it :wink.gif:
Now that I've had chance to play with the mod for a bit I have a few observations.
There's also an issue with donut 'smelting'. When you put several units of wheat in the furnace only the first 2 will smelt and produce 4 donuts, all subsequent wheat units smelt at a rate of 1 wheat to 1 donut. So 8 units of wheat produces 11 donuts when it should be 16. If you remove the donuts as they are produced then you'll get a ratio for wheat to donut of 2:4. for all but this means that you have to micromanage the process.
I'm not sure if this is a bug but obsidian ingots produce one ingot per unit smelted. The recipe on the first page indicates that it's supposed to be 2 pieces obsidian per ingot.
On another note You could a bit more clear about the relative strengths of the different toolsets. For example obsidian tools seem to be as strong and as durable as diamond but you can't mine obsidian blocks with an obsidian pickaxe. I haven't tried the diamond crusted tools yet (I haven't found enough diamond to make any) but how much stronger are they?
Speaking of which the diamond crusted obsidian recipe is a bit expensive, 1 diamond and 8 obsidian blocks producing 4 diamond encrusted units would be more appropiate IMHO. That said it's still odd that you have to smelt obsidian 'gems' to get craftable ingots but don't have to do the same with the diamond encrusted ones. To get around that inconsistency you could replace the obsidian blocks with ingots and produce craftable diamond encrusted ingots instead.
Regarding Lapis and Redstone tools; Adding tools that are analagous to iron doesn't make much sense since in 1.0.0. iron is so plentiful they win't be worth the trouble. However making them more powerful would make obsidian tools redundant; So how do we make them stand out and worth crafting?
One way would be to add an enchantment to each toolset or specific items in the toolset or armor. So lets say that Lapis swords have the Looting enchantment and pickaxes have Silk Touch while Redstone swords have Fire Aspect and axes have Unbreaking etc. So now even if the items are similar to existing itmes in terms or strengtha nd durability their special abilities will them them worth crafting and the mod will be different to the other mods that just add tools.
The last thing I want to comment on is pizza. Wheat and sugar? Kind of silly really. How about wheat, milk and pork instead?
Please don't take the above criticism as and indication that I don't think the mod isn't good because I think there's a lot of good stuff in the mod ( I installed it instead of one of my favorites due to the sprite ID limitation). It has a lot of potential and I think a few tweaks will make it a great mod.

thank you for the advice. as for the smelting recipe on the front it is not wat u think only one is supposed to come out it just shows that 2 have been smelting.i will look into doughnuts bug. obsidian tools last about 1000 more uses than diamond and i know for a fact you can mine obsidian with the obsidian pick because i made sure of it and i collect it all the time in my normal mc with the obsidian pick also diamond encrusted things last about 7000 more uses than diamonds.
