Rule of thumb is that Better Foliage works with most everything, even if the tree type's not in normal Minecraft. So it's fine with the LOTR mod, Biome's O Plenty, Enhanced Biomes, etc. The only thing I've ever found problems with are certain Tinker's Constuct bushes, but that seems to have been fixed in the newer versions, and you can disable anything that does show graphical issues manually.
That said, unless things have changed since the last time I turned on rounded logs, that setting may look weird on larger/branching tree types, so you might take a look at that and then if you dislike, disable that setting in Better Foliage's in-game menu.

For those who don't mind a bit of reading, I've been writing mod examinations on Hubpages under the name Cliffwalker. So far I've done full articles for several mods, including the likes of Witchery,Enviromine, andLycanite's Mobs, and I have also written a few multi-mod articles to help those who wish to find upgrades for a specific aspect of their game, such as the Nether.
Would it be possible to put in a tree specifically for the Savannah? Such as the Baobab tree, or a more robust acacia tree? I'm using 1.7.10 and I set vanilla tree spawn to false. The world it generates is really nice with just the big trees, but the savannah is so bare. It needs trees.
Glad to see someone picked this awesome mod up! Might I suggest renaming it to Bigtrees 2 and making a new thread though? Since you are optimizing and making new trees and redoing parts it might be a good idea
I agree, it also would be easier to keep track on the new updates. 83 Sure can't wait to see new things added, even thought i just found this mod few days ago, but i'm allready amazed because of those huge trees!
Check into the LOTR mod's version of them(just start up a new game with cheats enabled and teleport down to Far Harad savanna, walking down there will take a long time). Those are completely new trees, but they look pretty impressive.

If you lookup the trees on google images they have a lot of different leaf style but the most common is large consistent trunks with acacia style flat leaf tops.
Hey Vidaj, I am currently picking up minecraft again and attempting to update everything to 1.8.9. I want to run a server with this mod running on it. currently I am using the "forge-1.8.9-11.15.1.1722-universal" server version for mods. I am using no other mods with the server and when I start the server I get this message in the server log
"[Server thread/INFO] [FML]: FML has found a non-mod file bigtrees-0.2-1.7.10.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible."
And when I log into the server, it is obvious the mod is not enabled. I have looked thru the most recent posts on this mod and I don't see anything that says that this mod will or will not work on a minecraft server. The old way of installing this mod on the minecraft server was adding the files to the server.jar... Tried this with no change as well.
I loaded big trees into my minecraft client with success, the trees appear and everything looks great!
The redwood tree is only to give a measure, but whats the shape of the tree on the right in saplings as the biggest tree I found out so far is not nearly as big or in the same shape as the tree and its just the right size
I'm guessing its a BigTrees mod as its the newest release of resonant rise 3 and sacred oak doesent branch like this tree does.
So since this mod isn't compatible with old config files, then the Biome's O' Plenty config files won't work. Does the new version already work with Biomes O' Plenty or other modded trees without special configs?

In addition, fans of the old Myth games may want to check out my map of Myth's world.

How do you do that?
Seems like the Baobab tree should be straight forward enough to implement.. I'll see what I can do :-)
Sweet! That'll look amazing on the savannah and much more fitting.

I'll create a new BigTrees 2 post when I release the next version
Anyone have any ideas on how baobab trees would look in minecraft? I'm having a bit of a trouble designing a pretty looking, huge baoab tree.
Check into the LOTR mod's version of them(just start up a new game with cheats enabled and teleport down to Far Harad savanna, walking down there will take a long time). Those are completely new trees, but they look pretty impressive.

Maybe something like this?

Ah it might be Recurrent Complex but yeah would be nice
or with a builders tool or scanner and builder.
I'll just hafto re-create it by hand

Okay....I know this might be a stupid question, but since big tree saplings were removed. How do I grow new big trees now?
any1 got the config for extrabiomesxl?
Also btw this mod could be more wonderful if you play it with Realistic Terrain Generation mod
Any news on this? Are you going to 1.8 or 1.9?
So since this mod isn't compatible with old config files, then the Biome's O' Plenty config files won't work. Does the new version already work with Biomes O' Plenty or other modded trees without special configs?
