Can someone put up a tutorial for this? I know it seems simple, but whenever I put modloader in, then put all the extracted files into my minecraft.jar and delete the META-INF the game just gets frozen at the mojang screen

pinocchio: "My nose will grow"
My little pony is for little girls
What happens when the tree grows though? Do all the wood blocks become red? Do the leave become diamonds? I get that it's suppose to be a challenge and that the finished tree doesn't have to have a purpose but it would be nice to know what your growing. I don't have a problem with the lack of pics I just want to know what happens.
Hoping to use this on the TreeCrafters SMP server. Been looking for a great mod to add depth to the challenge. Hope you can get it working soon! http://treecrafters.com/
I hope the next update includes a config file, because currently I am unable to use this due to conflicts. I can't change the other block or it will mess up almost all my saves.

There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.

Is it possible to move the save file into the same folder as the map that is using it, or does the save file have all the info for all the maps that use it; in which case, can it be moved to the save folder.

im not sure if its a bug but i broke the spirit wood sapling and it crashed it dropped a sapling witch crashed my game when i put my mouse over it in the inventory
but i like this mod so have these
also you should add spirit wood planks they just look good
also when your on the spirit wood tree heart or what ever it heals you
I guess I'm overlooking something? Is the challenge of the mod to just stay by the tree the whole time?
What if you add an mob that attempts to attack the tree to add a bigger challenge. Once its killed it drops an item that you can use to venture a little further away from the tree without dying for a certain period of time?
First, thank you for making this mod and sharing it! The addition is a special tree type solves a lot of the issues keeping track of which wood came from our home tree. Very useful!
I've noticed an oddity in regards to the configuration file on my system. Rather than being in the .minecraft folder as you stated, I found it in .minecraft's parent folder. The file itself was named ".minecraft\The Tree Spirit.conf", and it was sitting right next to a file named ".minecraft\New World.ttsd" which seems to have save-specific data in it (heart coordinates and whether it has been placed). I'm not sure what caused this, but I thought it might be useful information.
Also, I've got the "Saving Chunks" crash from one type of spirit tree sapling in inventory. I say one type as I have two stacks that appear identical, but won't mix. The crash seems to occur on any mouseover that would cause the tooltip to pop-up. I did find a workaround to remove that stack from my inventory-
1) If the problem stack is already on your active item bar, skip to step 3. If the problem stack is in your inventory, pick up anything else on your mouse pointer and then click on the offending stack. The two items should change places without the tooltip for the problem items appearing.
2) Place the offending stack on your active item bar somewhere. I believe if there is an item in the space you pick, you can avoid the crash at this point. I clicked on a blank spot and got a "saving chunks" crash. This is fine, though... it's the last one I'm going to have. I restarted the game, reloaded the world and continued.
3) Find a spot you won't be entering for the next five to ten minutes or so and use the "Q" key to throw the items out. As the tooltip doesn't appear, you won't get the crash. The items are now out of your inventory and should despawn shortly. I would toss them in lava or a fire normally, but I don't think most of us will have that near the spirit tree by choice. :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: Additional Note - The problem saplings are generated from normal spirit tree saplings as follows: Place a spirit tree sapling, then pick it up again before it grows. The freshly acquired sapling refuses to stack with the rest, causes the tooltip "saving chunks" crash, and will not grow if placed again.
2nd EDIT: Looks like distance sensing still needs a bit of work:
That path is actually the closest block of Spirit Tree logs/leaves that is connected to the Heart Log (visible inside the doorway). I tested the distance earlier and the damage worked fine. I've closed the client and restarted a few times... maybe that turned off the distance checks?
And the detection error again means that the save files are screwd up, My mod can't find them so it assumes there is no heart block placed at all, so you wont recieve damage ( You can fix this by luckily placing the save to right place or grow new heart every time you play :3 )
I still seem to have some fixing with the save
I see. It's looking for it in one place and not finding it where it expects it. That sounds like it should be fixable once the code is located.
Despite the bugs, I'm still having a lot of fun with this mod. I'm looking forward to the updates when you have time. I hope your tests go well. :smile.gif:
I love this idea, I'll download and play this mod and play it later tonight. I'm a bit concerned about bugs though.
I get the impression there will be an update shortly to squash a couple of those bugs. It's very playable in it's current state as well, with a bit of care.
I also noticed that if you block the growing space above a sapling, it makes for a quite serviceable torch. Given that fire isn't exactly friendly to trees, this is a nice touch... very much in keeping with the "spirit" of the mod.

Yes I'm loving the sapling torch perk :smile.gif:
I had some issues with the saving chunks error but it's all good now. Please add a Spirit Tree ax! Even if it's really expensive it would help so much.
Nice mod! I just started, and god damn am I struggling. I didn't realise you couldn't use spirit logs to get wood, and started in a wasteland :sad.gif:
+1 diamonds to you, sir.
I've actually always wanted to try the Tree Spirit Challenge, but was afraid I was going to cheat, so I didn't give it a go. (Cheating, as in: "Oh, it's fine, I can step a few blocks away. Okay, just a few more.")
With this mod, it actually gives me new incentive to play Survival. Also, I'll leave my spirit saplings where they won't grow, just for free light. Which is nice.
Have you thought about getting this plugin made with Bukkit for multiplayer? It would be a neat thing to see done :smile.gif:

I saw that. :smile.gif: I just thought I'd post a workaround until you had the time.
File paths PMed. There's some personal info that I don't want posted here in them.
