Since you've responded to a few posts now Shadowclaimer, and having made the mod yourself you know the settings like no other, I'll ask again: What do you think I should change the spawn rate for Diamond to, to account for having Forestry, Railcraft and Buildcraft installed, yet not so frequent as to unbalance it?
Diamonds might be getting a spawn increase for release, but only slightly.
To actually answer your question, rather than just pin it on IC2 ( ), yes, you can change the IC2 configs to be the dusts from M2. I did it for the dusts and ingots for gold and iron, and also the ingots for copper, tin & bronze, meaning that they always come out as the M2 version. Changing the ingots ID is more for aesthetics, as they do function properly under the ore dictionary, but it's nice having the extra coloured texts for the ingots
I would also recommend changing the bronze tools & armour ID values, or else you'll craft the IC2 versions rather than the M2 version. I'm not actually sure which is better or worse, but again, they'll fit better in the aesthetics. If you have Railcraft installed, do the same for the steel tools, as well, which are definitely not as good as the M2 version.
Bear in mind that you may not be able to change the IDs of worlds that already exist, as I kept getting crashes in a pre-existing world after changing the copper chestplate IDs. It may be they existed in a dungeon chest somewhere? But I would recommend a new world.
You mean to override their IDs with ours?

Bukkit plugins add new ways to use items that are already in the game. They do not add new items. I already tried another mod on a bukkit server, it didn't work.

There's a difference between mods and plugins. I've made several bukkit servers with other mods on them. That's what bukkit ports are for. Plugins are server-side only, and usually deal with commands and such. Mods do... things that mods do.

Didnt know where to post this but i just started the game and traded one villager and BLAM FML 241, and every mod listed as of: 10/2/2012 .. 7:00 PM [MM/DD/YY] I used the beta core if that counts?
I used to get them here back in the 1.2.4 and .5 days http://www.mcportcentral.co.za/index.php ... Seems kinda dry lately still 1.2.5 so that's what made me wonder if we still needed to get the ports.... Metallurgy was one of those ported mods which forever hooked me on it. I could never play minecraft without all the extra minerals/metals again. So now I am stuck waiting for this mod to be complete plus the ports to be done... Then I have to re-learn how to get them to all work together again. Seems like all the documentation and videos to make that happen are for the old versions so...
So you have regular mods that work on bukkit servers? What are they and how did you install them onto the server? (I don't want to post more off-topic on this thread so please send your reply via private message. We can continue the conversation that way.)
I love the new ideas about the donation metals and being able to convert the special irons to regular iron Shields would be a neat feature also.
What about maybe being able to craft special bows or special arrows that either did more damage or had special effects? Maybe it would be more appropriate to make crossbows. That should be something you could implement without having to mess with the gui. If you added to the gui to have a shield though, rings, charms, and stuff like that would be neat. Your typical RPG full armor sets. Set bonus would be neat too.
I've been thinking and i actually like the iron idea but sense the advanced irons are so good from the transmuting you get a byproduct which you can create metals or repair or something.
Hi
I followed your procedure to install Vanilla server first but nothing works I put a block it disappears immediately ... etc. I Forge 1.3.2 server stable and I followed your instructions to the letter but nothing works you can also run it on bukkit server? thank you in advance journer good

There isn't a Bukkit version of Metallurgy yet, when there is you'll be able to do it, until then it won't be compatible with Bukkit.

Forge needs to be ported to bukkit before any of it's mods can be ported.
Zanaknz: If you install base, the problem will go away, looks like I forgot to check for base before adding village trades, I'll fix this before release.
Really loving this mod, currently preparing a texture pack for sphax bdcraft so all the ores looks nice in my world, just wondered if the gems be making an appearance in the official launch ?
Nope, we won't be adding new features between the beta and launch, just making sure all the bug are fixed. Gems "may" be added at some arbitrary point in the future, but we don't currently have any plans for them.
Also noticed that creating bronze armor always gives me the IC2 version, although it uses any type of bronze bar/ingot, and copper armor can only be created with M2 copper
The Dust issue needs to be resolved on their side unless you replace their IDs with ours (IE: in their configs set their Copper Armor to our Copper Armor, etc.) which 'should' fix some of the problems but may cause others.

Why SHOULD I use Bukkit, when I'm able to pick all the mods, that I really want, make them compatible and adjusting them if it's necessary? I've a quiet neat Mod-Packet for my private-server and I would have way more problem on 'balancing' the whole thing, if I would use Bukkit in addition. Only problem I have is, that my favorite 'NPC-Strengthen-Mod' isn't out for 1.3.2 yet and I haven't found a good replacement for it.
Bukkit is for server features, that's what makes it amazing. Its easy to catch griefers, cheaters, etc. with it.

Crushing tools and armor into dust? I think shadow replied that he liked the idea.
