Did you start a new world or continue in an old one? If it's an old world the new ores will only generate in new chunks. So you will have to travel a long distance to find them.
This is a new world, made with a seed from an old world. The veins are in the same chunk.
I only have Metallurgy & Balkon's Weapons installed, with their dependencies. The level seed is "8553288587835262181". Around X 123, Y 72, Z 764 is where I am and most the iron that I mine yields the old ore form. :blink.gif:
Uhh... I'm very hessitant to use this mod for many reasons but...
Diamond, Gold, Redstone, Coal, and Lapus Lazuli spawns were NOT modified by these changes, they will remain in their old statistics. Although Diamond's durability was drastically lowered to bring it more in line with the other tools.
D: Why!? Diamonds is the hardest thing on the universe, and if you lower it, how much?<--- Main problem..
Also, from the picture, I see a hell alot of ore, scattered, and can be easily found. Can you make a version, which is less scattered and concentrated larger vein, though I did not test this mod yet. Sorry if you have change that.

Diamonds aren't the hardest thing in the universe (technically), and the idea of mishmashing diamonds onto sticks to make tools is odd to me. I can't edit Diamond so it actually is the same old durability currently, I wish it wasn't though.
Configurations will allow you to tweak them however you wish.

From the looks of it he wanted to make it more properly tiered.

Umm... dont read my mind please :biggrin.gif:, but yeah, I want it abit more... systematic perhaps... but I guess I'll try this mod since you didnt change the diamond thing, I'll give some feed back later on. Good luck modding.
EDIT: Nvm, I guess I'll wait for 1.2 version... Good luck modding as always!
I would love some alternative textures for the mod. I am not a fan of artwork by ShadowClaimer. It's not horrible, its just not my cup of tea. So if you will please, go ahead and make those alternative textures. :smile.gif:
Hi, so excuse me a little because I'm relatively new to this. I agreed completely with TheEnlightened. I searched long for a solution and decided the only one was to make my own versions of the sprites.
I really hope to not offend anyone who is a fan of the sprites as they are, this is a great mod and I love it, but I like the look of my classic Minecraft tools a lot too. So what I have done is updated all the major metal tools. Aka: Steel, Mithril, Orichalcum, and Adamantine. I can do the rest if people prefer it, but honestly, I like the way that Bronze and Copper look.
I uploaded the file as Updated.rar. All you have to do is take everything in the "Updated" folder and put it in your "Shadow" folder of minecraft.jar
To my current knowledge, it works smoothly but I have really only tested it out for a minute. Hopefully someone finds this helpful. Thanks and have fun!

No complaints here, those came out exactly like that ones I had planned for eventually, I may add them to the main post later (if I can remember, this is a random post I'm making after waking up in the middle of the night)

the items added in use up item sprite indexes...isnt the whole point of forge to prevent that?
Forge isn't fully implemented until the next version. Only items that use indices right now are blocks (which is fixed in 1.2) and the replacement textures for MC base items.

Hey, in your first post, could you add what you need to get what ore? Like Wood for coal and stone, stone for iron and lapis lazuli, iron for gold and redstone, and diamond for obsidian.

If you read the installation guide, he says to add the mods first before metallurgy.

Dammit that's what I forgot for next patch, right now its wood for everything up to Tin, and Stone for Iron+.
It'll be fixed up to be harder than that though in the next patch.

Yeah, I noticed something about that. I was happily chopping away at mithril with my stone axe, not thinking: Waitaminute. This is supposed to be as hard as diamond.
Also, could you put some alloy recipes up? I want some Aluminium to make an aluminium sword so creepers can fear me.
i can mine all ores with a wooden pickaxe
please fix this.
