I've received a very puzzling crash report from the 'MetallurgyCore' file. Sorry for the lack of compaction, no idea on how to use spoilers. note the 5th line. That's new to me(Its all greek to me, I can't write code).
Spoilers are done by doing [spoiler]your text[ /spoiler], without the extra space in front of the"/".
uhm i did a quick search on "id bug" and i couldn't find this
but i have somewhat of a bug where a couple of ids are basically being overwritten without forge noticing it resulting in for example that inolae ingots become potions from zelda swords skills I've had this kind of trouble every one in a while with metallurgy and when i think i found all the double items and go to the configs...
well the items aren't said to be generated on those ids... can someone help me? (i love inolae but having to wear potions is kinda weird...)

Item Id's are usually the number in the configuration +256.
So if you get an conflict on id 11456 it prob says 11200 in the configuration.
I don't know which Git you're talking about o.O we don't have any release up on TeamMetallurgy.

Regardless, I'd like to take this time to announce that Glassmaker (of ExtraTIC fame) will be taking over development of Metallurgy. I'll be moving on to other projects that I'll be discussing more of in the future.
He can be found on Twitter @JeanGlassmaker, he'll be making a new post as of 1.7 for Metallurgy.
Could you give a link to this guy? it would be much appreciated.
Jenkins releases are meant for Metallurgy developers, not general users. They're like pre-Beta releases for the Devs to make sure the Beta release will be mostly playable before the official public release.
I'm the current maintainer of Metallurgy,
I want to clear something things, like using the development builds from the Jenkins link that Mod-Mixer posted.
1- Use the Metallurgy development builds on YOUR OWN RISK.
2- DON'T Report issues with Metallurgy development builds on this post / Curseforge / Github / Private Message, although you can report them in the IRC channel only, upon that It's better to wait for the release which will be posted on a new post.
3- Metallurgy 3 is on halt, so there won't be updates until further notice.
Our brand new server, Super Massive, has added Metallurgy3 to our modpack! I just wanted to let you know and invite anyone interested to take a look at what we're doing. You can go to our main forums by clicking the image in my sig. Or...
So, I really want to use this mod, but I don't fully understand it. Why would I use an ore thats either rare, or only found in the nether, for something as good as a stone or iron sword? I'm not hating on the mod, this is an actual question.

Well, some people try to survive in the nether with nothing from the Overworld. For such cases, these nether ores replace stone and iron tiers. And all ores have a use via the machines - such as turning the ores you don't need into experience with the abstracters.
Alternatively, there's what my personal favourite - use the configs to completely remake the tech tree, and make all the ores have their use, such as being better than average for armour or weapons or be more enchantable or have high durability.
Hope that helps. Can't wait for an update on Metallurgy 4. Go Glassmaker, after your work on ExtraTiC, I have complete faith in you making Metallurgy 4 amazing!

But if I'm not living in the nether, and I don't want to remake the tech tree, how do I use this mod?

Use the strongest metals you can find for your armor, sword, and pickaxe. The weak stuff can be turned into the less essential tools like shovels and axes. Alternately if you're using dartcraft or rotary craft you can turn weaker metals like prometheum into iron by making buckets out of them and then either force transmuting them (dartcraft) or turning them into scrap iron (rotary craft).
I do agree that they should have more general uses to them.

But isn't a simple diamond pickaxe or sword better than 99% of the metals?

No, diamond is only mid tier in Metallurgy. As soon as you find manganese you'll be able to make steel, which has the same power as diamond (but is less durable). The last two nether and last three fantasy metals can't be mined by a diamond pickaxe at all, and the swords made by a high end nether or fantasy metal will make diamond look weaker than overcooked spaghetti by comparison.

Thank you! I'm assuming they're so much better, not because of an increase in damage, but an increase in things like enchantibility?

Fantasy equipment has a higher enchantability. The nether metals all make swords that come with enchantments already on them. (For example, ignatius will set mobs on fire and vyroxeres will poison them). The damage for each will obviously increase as you move on to higher tiers, but both will surpass the +7 damage of a diamond sword.
Does anyone play with the latest releases of M3 that had the textures of the fantasy exp orbs fixed? If so, do they work for you? Made one of the higher tier orbs, filled it up 1/4th of the way, tested extracting the exp again and the orb (I think it was an oureclase orb) transformed into the low-level prometheum orb after exp extraction.

This is the same in Zelda Swords.
This is the site I got the 1.7.2. Latest version too.

We've only just opened the server for little more than a week. It's free to play, survival/adventure, MCPC+1.6.4. Any interest is appreciated. Thanks!
