Update! Storage Blocks and Crazy Ores are up to date!
Welcome to tasogarereiken's mod release thread! I am welcome to ideas and suggestions but keep in mind I'm a busy college student and may not respond immediately.
I am also accepting any decent Artist to make my mod(s) look better. If you have an improvement just post a screenshot and a link or PM me the pack and if I like it I'll switch over and give appropriate credit.
If there are compatibility Issues with my mods I strive to eliminate them when possible. Just let me know if you find them (NOT BlockID conflicts or mods not compatible with Minecraft Forge to begin with)
I am looking into SMP releases for my mods that don't have them yet, don't ask.
To install copy and paste all files in the 'Put into Jar' folder in the download into your Minecraft.jar file. You can open the Minecraft.jar file with WinRar.
Storage Blocks 1.3.1 [1.2.3] RequiresModLoader and MinecraftForge
Store your items as Blocks! With storage blocks moving from base to base is much easier as you can store all of that meat, redstone, coal, and other materials as blocks, taking 9 times less space! In addition to that, you can now store Milk in powdered form and turn that into blocks.
These items can be crafted into blocks (and back of course!)
Flint, Redstone Dust, Slime, Coal, Cookie, Red Apple, Gold Apple, Bread, Ender Pearl, Sugar, Wheat, Powdered Milk, Rotten Flesh, and Cooked/Raw versions of Pork, Beef, Fish, and Chicken.
Uses 250 and 251 for BlockIDs and 1000 for an ItemID. All are now customizable in the properties file generated after its installed.
Based on the ores from the browser based game Kingdom of Loathing comes Crazy Ores! Features 9 new ores from materials found normally in real life. It ranges from the weak ores of Cardboard and Styrofoam to the toughest of materials, Teflon. Features Velcro that is the easiest material to enchant in the game and somewhat better than Iron, Asbestos which wearing a full suit of armor of it makes you fire and lava immune, and Vinyl which is like gold but is used to craft blank records from which you can make copies of records you have.
Recipes
Cardboard Ingots and Chrome ingots can be used in place of some planks/iron recipies, see Readme for details. Chrome can be used for all of them while Cardboard can generally only be used to make boxes, like chests or the workbench.
All ores smelt into ingots as iron or gold and can then be crafted into all tools and armors following standard recipes.
In addition to those, Vinyl Ingots can be crafted into blank records which then can be crafted with other records to make copies.

Doable but it would be complicated handling partially eaten blocks (Probably if its partly eaten, don't drop) and I'd probably need a unique BlockID for each meat due to limited metadata. The BlockID being the big thing because I personally use a multitude of mods and the fewer blockIDs the better.
It would be quite easy to make one similar to the cake block. Just use ModLoaders special rendering. I think its called renderWorldBlock or something like that in BaseMod. And add the method ModLoader.getUniqueRenderID() returns a int. Then in you block class add this method getRenderType() which returns the unique id you got from your method in mod_YourMainModClass. Make sure to make it non opeque and not normal render.
Basic way of setting up a special render.
block.setBounds(0.0F/*you minimum x*/,0.0F/*you minimum y*/,0.0F/*you minimum z*/,1.0F/*you maximum x*/,1.0F/*you maximum y*/,1.0F/*you maximum z*/); // This will give you a normal block | a half block has a max y value of 0.5F
/*Using the RenderBlocks class*/
renderblocks.renderStandardBlock(block, x, y, z);
There are 16 pixels in a block so. Each pixel has O.0625F. Since you only have 11 meta data left and 9 ham for a block I suggest you go by 2 and maybe split the last pixel in 2 which will eat up 9 meta data leaving you 2 left to make new blocks :smile.gif:. sorry for my bad grammar as I don't give a **** about it. PM me if you need more help.
Crazy Ores screenshots and information is out, let me know what you think!
Download isn't ready yet, just found a glitch with shovels not working as they should so I need a bit more testing to ensure a bug free release. At least as much as I can get :tongue.gif:.
I like how bubble wrap and linoleum turned out though I'm not that great an artist :smile.gif:.
It took a bit to figure out that McForge, at least the version I used to make Crazy Ores, doesn't set the tool efficiency for default blocks for shovels.
Glad to hear it, Grugsy, that is the goal of the mod ^^.
Hey there. Great idea for mods. LOVING the idea of new storage blocks and patiently awaiting the 1.0.0 SMP release.
I noticed a problem though. Your 1.1 download is an empty zip file that's only 22bytes. I think a re-upload of the mod may be necessary ^^
Looking forward to trying it out once it's up :smile.gif:
Gah! Didn't even notice that and nobody mentioned it :tongue.gif:. Fixed it, let me know if you have any problems. Holidays kept me busy, I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner.
Haven't worked on the SMP versions of these mods yet but that is the next objective.
i don't know if anybody else had this problem, but I tried downloading StorageBlocks via the link and got an empty zip file (22 bytes is the filesize mediafire reports).

I am not a ♠ but I play one on the internet.
Crazy Ores is now up to 1.1.0 and StorageBlocks is next. CrazyOres no longer modifies base classes. I sent CrazyOres definitions to the Kingdoms mod but I'm not sure it got into his 1.1.0 release.
AdCraft is shutting down so I changed all links to MediaFire direct.
Minecraft Forge is provided with this version of StorageBlocks because the Forge hasn't been updated yet. I took the copy of the Forge that Millenaire provided and updated it to 1.2.3. I still don't understand how it works so there could be bugs but it seems to work just fine with my mod.
As with the license for Minecraft Forge, I have provided the modifed forge Source Code in the download and as with the Forge license you are free to use it within the terms of the Forge license.
