I love it!
I was redirected to this from Redpower.
There was this other mod, craftbook. It's the same as this, except this is soooo much better! I love the filter function!
My only complain would be that it is sugercane expencive. One of the rarest thing in my minecraft worlds! (I repeat MY minecraft worlds. I don't care that you can find whole farms of them at your startpoint.).
It's one of the few things I can't get using EE.
But it's not a big deal. I have sugercanes now.
(@modder; You can ignore the complain of mine, couse it's nicely expencive. Just like EE. RecipeBook and Craftbook where too cheap. This one is actually extremely usefull, and a bit hard to get.)
All in all, gread mod!

I'd rather hear no, or that I'm an idiot, then nothing at all.
Oh, great that you posted the crash log, but next time, put it in the

tag. Many forum pages have been flooded because that wasn't used. spread the word!
Well, i always get MASSES of sugar cane, especially in the desert rivers/lakes, so it's not that expensive.
Ag-hum: One of the rarest thing in my minecraft worlds ! (I repeat MY minecraft worlds.)
Please remember that minecraft worlds are not the same for everyone.
I CAN find sugercanes, but I usually have to travel a great distance to get them. It's a dangerous one, and if I die, I lose the sugercanes. AND I've got to get back...
But as I said : You can ignore the complain of mine
I am having two worlds, both of which I decided to settle in an area that could contain sugercane. And I now build great sugercane farms.
Sorry if I sound rude. If I was, I didn't do it on perpose.

Would it be possible to enable adding an item to the filter from your inventory? Take IC2 for example. I know a Macerator needs Refined Iron which I happen to have in my inventory. Instead of having to scroll through looking for the first instance of Refined Iron I could just drag it from my inventory to the filter.
Edit: I realized after posting that macerators don't actually use refined iron directly, but you get the idea.
@Folks with questions on doing specific mods: in order for that to work (without loads of headache for Qwerty :tongue.gif:) mod-writers would have to supply a txt file or something that says "blockid # xx belongs to my mod, yyyyyy"

TolyK of Bay12, Nowan of Hammersong.Want mods for your Bukkit server?
Really really nice mod. Replaces Risugami mod in all aspects.
I have a more technical question. I saw you are using a special library for handling the GUI. Is this library available for other mods ?
It isn't really public yet. I wrote it in response to the rather annoying tangle of complexity that version 1 of this mod had achieved, as well as how most of Minecraft's default components are overall inflexible and aren't really as interactive as what I have seen elsewhere. In the future, I definitely want to separate it so that it can be easily used in other mods, but I'm going to wait a while, until I'm reasonably certain that the basic structure won't need to change for any reason.
Edit: If you want to try using it, I could pass along the source, but there are no guarentees that it will be useful in any way, or even usable. At the moment, there are parts that may be a bit too heavily integrated with the mod to be easily reused. At the very least, any use of it would need it to be moved to a different package, so that, as the copes are inevitably changed, the changes don't conflict with each other.
CraftGuide, recipe viewer with a scrollbar! (Resizable window, too, if you prefer playing with a smaller GUI scale and are tired of GUIs only occupying a tiny square in the centre)
Great mod, just what this game has been needing ever since forge. Recipe book was great when we had 50 pages but even multiple books became a hassle when there are 1300 pages.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for a much needed enhancement to the game.
Is this intentional? I'm not sure if cobble or wooden planks have damage values. If it's a bug, it would be nicer squashed. Other than that, I really love this mod. Thanks!
It is, unfortunately, a side effect of how Minecraft works. In technical terms, an ItemStack of a Block uses -1 unless otherwise specified. -1 is, therefore, used both intentionally and unintentionally, and I have no way to distinguish the two possibilities.
Well, I was thinking that couldn't you just hard-code (I think that's the term) the stars for the items that have damage values? Like, anything that you want to have a star on you just layer the star over it manually? I don't code, and I'm pretty sure you'd have to star modded items by yourself, but just a thought...
hand coding mods items... that sounds like a good idea, if you have small mods, sure...
but...
then i add a few more mods...
like redpower 2...
aaaand...
edit: every piece of that "rainbow" as it was called by another user, is a damage value.
i dont know about you... but that seems like A LOT of work.
Yup, Eloraam only uses up to 16,700 damage values now, no problem hard coding all that right? God forbid RP2 comes out of Prerelease with even ONE more item that covers can be made from. Nope, no work at all:P
When I didnt have Redpower the CraftGuide as it was was completely fine.
However Im now having trouble navigating the pages.
Redpower spams out the lot.
So I would just like say it would be great if you added a text search function :smile.gif:
I know I would like it to be as in the forums where the recipe for stairs is shown but only one recipe with different blocks cycling though it to show what can be used.
But I dont know how you would make this automaticly detecting.

Yes, I know manually starring items would be a hassle for some people (like you :blink.gif:), but I guess you wouldn't HAVE to star them if you had a million damage values, right...?
(unless you're super picky)
The thing is, if you don't want to take 80,000,000 years to star each item, you don't have to, I guess. I wouldn't. I was just giving a suggestion, not forcing him to do it.
And by hard-coding, I meant that Uristqwerty would put the stars over the vanilla items that have damage values, and for modded ones, you do manually. Btw, is Redpower awesome? I can't seem to get the version on the blog to work with my mods... So I just want to hear about it!
Way better than recipe book, and the recipe to make the crafting guide makes more sense. By any chance, in the future, will you be able to view what using a machine in a mod on an item will make? Like if I look in your recipe book it shows me what I would have to stick into an IC2 compressor to get an advanced alloy.
Also, any way of making a front "table of contents" for looking up specific mods? My very bloated JAR has about 5 giant mods in it and it's a pain having to look for the recipe for a specific mod and you scroll right by it.
its semi-confirmed shes at least adding leaf sub blocks. shes mentioned she likes the idea of it :tongue.gif:
oh, i only brought that up because some mods have... a lot of items. hand coding is kinda, out of the question in these situations haha
and yes, redpower is incredible, and its still only in pre-release version!
Yeah, I just realized that Redpower is INCREDIBLE too-when I first installed it, I accidentally installed the TMI+Redpower patch wrong, so I thought there weren't a lot of IDs-then I installed it right, and then...
In case you can't see the tooltip for what I'm hovering over, it's the Hollow Pink Wool Panel, ID 116-6438. Yeah, maybe hard-coding isn't so good... but at least you don't have to!
I would probably create a second extra that removes every recipe producing one of those smaller blocks, except for a single one for each type (showing saw level and/or if it is possible at all), and a full set for a single material (likely stone). Bit distracted by another game at the moment, though, so might not get around to doing anything for this for a few more days (actually a good thing, because "other game" is likely to last less time than "Minecraft SMP", which might have been able to deprive you of updates for *weeks*!)

Just some food for thought.
It has to pause the game, or minecraft will lag really bad and you won't be able to exit it.
Even better: A table of contents
