Is it possible to add a config so that number x through to number Y won't show up?
I can do it with just the API, and add it as an extra, even.
... I may or may not have finished after completely forgetting to post for half an hour or so. Haven't tested yet, so might or might not need more work.

Something to do with the quickguide shortcut key or something. i dont have much installed right now (Modloader+MP,Gui AP, Player AP, Crafting Table II, IC2,AudioFix,Forge)
Hmm... Did you download the Minecraft 1.8.1 version of QuickGuide? The latest version works for me.
Also, new extra: CraftHide. With it, you can hide every recipe containing a certain item. Or, really, any one of a list of items that you give it.
Only problem is that you need to manually add 256 to item IDs (Minecraft does it to make room for the block items...), or more if you have a block ID extender of some sort.
Best part, the download link is a direct download! I'm going to miss the automatic counting of how many people download it, though.

Just a reminder, there IS an API that CAN be used to add recipes such as those. I'm generally leaving it up to individual modders to include their own crafting systems (it can be done in a single file, I believe), though I guess I could do it for them if they requested it.

how does the views function work? I can't see any difference when I click the buttons, but then again I'm not looking for anything. Something in OP showing what they do would be useful. AAAAAAAAAAND thanks for the great mod. No longer am I cursed with hundreds and hundreds of ways to cut up blocks and transmute them. Not to mention my own personal mod that adds over 15 pages of recipes.

GENERATION 21: The first time you see this, copy it into your signature on any forum and add 1 to the generation number. Social experiment.

Any chance of adding an extra that only hides recipes that make certain items?
Also, does CraftHide work with ranges of items? (on vacation away from my computer with minecraft)
How are you on multiplayer support? If you haven't even started, I would to port this mod to SMP. You see, I have a thread (link: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/769422-100181ssp-mods-in-smpsmpbukkit/ ) in which I port single player mods into multiplayer ones. I'm asking permission to make a multiplayer version of CraftGuide that will need a special client addon. Everyone will still need to download the original mod, but this addon must also be on the client side. You will get full credit for your hard work and people everywhere will be able to finally figure out how to craft millions of things that they didn't even know existed (other than from TMI) with the company of their friends. PM me with a response.

That would be wonderful if you guys can come to an agreement.
So can somebody explain to me what those two buttons on the top left do, the brewingstand the trashbin and furnace, and what the button that has the crafting guide icon on it, what do they do?

Everybody gets a bit bored sometimes, click the link to not be bored for a few hours.
(Note screenshot includes content from x3n0ph0b3's awesome mod, Equivalent Exchange. And, on the slight chance you complain about me showing someone else's work, I asked first.)
Also depicted: Shapeless recipes do not show grid lines, making them easy to recognize. Additionally, you can click on an item in a recipe to filter the displayed recipes so that only ones that require or produce that item will be shown (In this case, books). Use the clear button to go back to seeing them all.
Umm, both of those things are NOT depicted in the screenshot. Just a heads-up!

If you want to, go right ahead. All of the complexity is in the GUI itself, so I doubt it would be difficult to make a multiplayer version.

They switch between two different modes. There is the regular one with recipes, and then the other one switches to letting you see the different recipe types. From there, you can set each recipe type to "show", "hide", or "only show this". You see the effects when you go back to the regular recipe view, and they would be most noticable if you managed to hide everything but the furnace recipes.
Not really useful unless you have BrewGuide, as it adds a massive number of recipes that you probably wouldn't want always visible.
Umm, both of those things are NOT depicted in the screenshot. Just a heads-up!
Ah, yes, I'll fix that as soon as I can.

I think that anyone who can mod decently should be able to throw something together that can do all of that.
I prefer, wherever possible, to have it discover recipes when you first open the guide (Since that way it automatically updates itself to match all current mods), but if nobody else wants to try creating a custom recipe display system, I could throw together another extra.
I'll probably leave it for a few days, to give others a chance to try. (And answer any questions they my have, if there are any of them)

this is an nice Mod. I have many Mods, and many Pages shown in ne Guide.
May you implement an "Search" tool, where you can type "Querry" (BuildCraft) and all Recipes will shown who needs Querry and Recipes where you get a Querry?
I know, you can "Filter", but then i have to search the Querry first, to click them ^^

Derp, human error on my part :biggrin.gif:
Can you also make CraftGuide also display recipes for IC2's compressor, extractor, and macerator's recipe?
Theres also the Alloy thingy on RP2, or the transmutation table in Equivalent Exchange, forgot what else has similar systems.
