I know that metadata is only stored in bytes(or was it just nibbles?), so I assume you took use of tile entites to do this? Doesn't this increase the file size a tad bit?
I don't understand the question. How can you store more data in the same size?
Can you make it so we can install it in our mods folder if this method isn't already possible?
Can you optimize your mod to reduce the number of visable faces of the miniblocks? - a large number of these in one area can lead to a large amount of lag
So i think optimizing is the first thing you will probably want to do - after you fix all of the blocks properties (ie torches are torchlike, and can hang on walls) cake is edible, etc (i can provide a full list of things that normally work, but are broken in your miniblocks)
Regardless some ideas for optimization
-Reduce number of visable faces, but remove uneed faces - ie meshing 2 of the same textured blocks right next to each other into one, or 4, or 8
- in doing the above you will probably use more sprites, i suggest you support forge for its unlimited sprite idexing
-Optimize so if the player can't see the texture, its not actually there , a sort of "live loading" method will be required - as the player walks near and turns head he/she sees the textures, as he/she looks away the textures vanish - thus reduction of lag
May I make a suggestion ? let us get the blocks back when destroying the SBB (small blocks block). Also the SBB should have a better icon :smile.gif:
I agree. Also, instead of using a block to make it into a block where you can place small blocks,
have it that you craft 512 blocks from any item using a chisel. (this saves you having to mine large quantities of material to make a small structure) however this would require you to make new block types.
My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
I'm trying to make little blocks functional but it's not simple.
Today, I'm gonna make an update with metadata support (wool color, trees...), step support (step blocks aren't one full block), some other fixes and optimization.
what if you could make a small house, shrink yourself to see if you like it, and then make it so that you can transform it into a big house. like put it in a box or sumthin.

Make the blocks functional
Then this will be the alltime best mod(with Kodas Clay soldiers combined) ever

its already possible it takes like 5 secs too break it...
Toddtime here (guy who posted in the ideas forum),
I made a banner :smile.gif:
WOO!
theres what to put in your signature if you would like to support this mod :smile.gif:
say you're stuck in a cave, and your pick just broke and you're hungry, time to pull out the mini blocks and omnomnomnom.

Heres one :smile.gif:
One suggestion: could you make the textures on the blocks fit the bigger blocks?
1. make sure you delete META-INF from you minecraft.jar
and don't copy the "readme.txt". Only copy the "net" folder and the "mod_littleblocks.class"

Thanks man :smile.gif:
