Ok, I finally got it to install, but the water effects do not show up. No Errors or anything, just no effects. Switched to Fancy Water and everything. Any Ideas?

Now this is a great patch. I'd really love to see it be able to continue.
I'm running around 22-38fps which I'd say isn't too bad with having the shaders. Also should mention I have it running with smooth to give another case of it working.
Sorry but this only works on Optifine HD_A :sad.gif:
I don't mind if you distribute my patch on MCForum, but you might want to also link to my post on Reddit on your page, since that's where I keep it updated and can provide help. Also, I've already patched for OptiFine 1.8.1_HD_MT_A and HD_B1, so you page is slightly out of date. By the way, for anyone that cares, the patch for classic also works on smooth. You might want to add a mention of that near the link. It says in the instructions that it was made with HD_A and tested with HD_S_A, but most people skim over them.
Also, the part about it working with Better Than Wolves is outdated. It worked for it back in 1.7.3 before BTW was using forge. I might do another patch for OptiFine and MinecraftForge in the future, but for right now that was just an oversight that I forgot to erase.

Thank you so much
i included a link to your original post on Reddit too :wink.gif:
THANKS!!
BTW I dont think you have to have permission to make a merge, but it helps!
I don't think so either, but I've already gotten the OK from sp614x and Necrowizzard, so it's a moot point. Also, I don't distribute their mods (or at least the entire mods); I just distribute the 3 modified files that make them work together.
So I got curious and I decided to do a little test regarding this patch and a few of the mods out there. This was instigated because I noticed a couple of mods changed there wording a bit.
Here's what I saw: Optifine is now compatible with Minecraft Forge. Because Forge is required for such mods as Industrial Craft and what not, I figured I would check to see if with the help of this patch I couldn't have fancy water in my Industrial Craft + BuildCraft World.
My findings: As long as you install everything in the right order this patch lets you use Water Shader and Forge together, and going a step further IC and BC didn't cause any problems when I added them into the mix. Or I should say they didn't cause me any game play problems. It seems that the oil from BC uses code connected to the way water renders, meaning that oil becomes transparent and wavy like water. Yet when the fancy graphics are turned off... the oil stays fancy while the water returns to normal. Hey though, that's nothing really to do with this patch, and a small price to pay to be able to have fancy water in an Industrial Craft + Build Craft World.

Hey, how did you get the water shader to work with forge and it's mod? I tried if and it totally broke my game.
What are you talking about? I want my minecraft to be like that!
Who needs Acid Trip? XD
