Hi guys, HansiHE here, and I've coded the Simple Alchemy system suggested by Vechs into a mod. This is my first mod, so please leave suggestions/bugs/issues in this thread. Hope you like it :biggrin.gif:
1.1
-Countdowns now based on game ticks, not gui draws
-Extention potions can be crafted with charcoal
-A few code improvements
-Default config updated
1.11
-Countdowns now based on timer thread
1.2
-Added potion: Strength Potion
-Fixed: Timer running when game on pause
-Changed: Spacing between each buff icon
Edit:
Also, here are some useful combinations to try:
Firebrand + Speed: This gives you the a knock-back attack combined with burning damage, that is very useful when fighting creepers.
Regeneration + Shield: This combination will totally save your life when burning or poisoned.
And remember to hunt skeletons for bonemeal, so you can make Extension potions to use your favorite combinations for longer periods of time. :smile.gif:
Awesome!
Here are some shots of me testing all the potions in game.
Currently, everything works fine for me, with the one exception that the Extension potion recipe only takes coal and not charcoal, but that's a trivial thing to fix. (Fixed.)
Crafting:
Burning a cow with a sword strike while having the Firebrand Potion buff:
Running around with Regeneration, Speed, and Shield active:
It installed fine for me, and it works pretty well. The only thing that doesn't work is the firebrand potion. The problem is it only sets enemies on fire. I was hoping that whatever you hit would catch fire. A good example would be to fire an arrow down the hall to light it up. Speaking of light, the fires don't have any. It would be pitch black and a flaming enemy runs up to you and it doesn't get any brighter. I didn't play around with the other potions as much to see if they were buggy too. This was the only one I was excited about for that one tactical reason. Nice work though, but I hope you can fix that bug at least.
Oh also, is there any way to see how long a potion lasts? I don't know if you can add a bar or something above the health or glowing dots around your character or something. It's hard to tell.

You can see the durations ticking down in the top left of your screen.
You can use the an extension potion to keep your favorite potion going a bit longer. :smile.gif:
And yes, setting fire from a distance is a feature we would like to have, it's just harder to code than the others. Hopefully it will be in a future version. :smile.gif:

Could it be TMI?
Just tested, everything works fine for me. Did you install it correctly?
