if you download this mod you shouldn't play on a difficulty above peaceful.
but really how are they ruining your plumbing they are 3 meters tall and if memory serves they are allergic to water
redstone problems - again they are 3 meters tall
and its good they pick up blocks placed by the player maybe a little bit of a an annoyance but really that is kinda pathetic you can't deal with it.
but hey make it so you can turn the ability off and on, and you have decent mod
Can you explain to us how to keep them from marring up the entire landscape? Are you proposing covering the entire world in a 2 meter high ceiling?
Also, wouldn't making it toggle-able in the mod be kind of pointless? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but what would the point of that be? Don't you install the mod because you want to change their properties?

Don't even listen to him, in his mind if you are not playing Minecraft one way, and one way only then you are playing the game wrong, because apparently building anything isn't the point of minecraft, and adventure maps are not a valid way to play the game.
In fact anyone who is defending this tends to build one small base, gather as many resources as possible, and barely use them.
Great job on the mod Jeffrey6978, a lot of players have been waiting for this. I hope we see something like this for multiplayer servers though.
I find this mod sad, notch made a lot of effort to make a real hostile mob and give more challenge to the game, and you just ruin that with this kind of mods

What challenge? Enderman are only slightly more difficult to beat than zombies. The block removing effect is not a difficulty, it's a major annoyance if you've ever built anything you're proud of and don't want it defaced at random.

Put a lot of work into making them tough? Really? Zombies and spiders are harder to kill than endermen. Exactly HOW does making an NPC grief make them difficult? If I wanted to clean up after 2 year olds playing with my buildings I'd join an SMP server.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My signature is my friend. It is my thoughts. I must master it as I must master minecraft.

the solution is easy. if you don't like what this mod does, don't use it and in the spirit of minecraft we can all play the game the way we want to.
Reporting back after some testing. the building destruction that I've seen previously has stopped completely. endermen are still there but they are now behaving like Notch said and not moving player placed blocks (well, no block moving at all, which also saves the landscape from being ravaged).
If a creeper spawns inside my plumbing he just sits there until the next flood cycle and drowns like a good little monster. He doesn't start randomly yanking chunks out of the walls turning my lovely automatic farmer into a random flood machine.
Unless the farmer is made of natural blocks, it won't. Derp.
lol my friend was yelling at me for ruining a sing post but then we figured out it was those piece of **** endermen, does anyone know if its multiplayer compatible?

Not at the moment apparently, hopefully soon though! Maybe Bukkit will update soon, I'm sure they will deal with the Endermen somehow. Maintaining a server is hard enough without Endermen ruining everything.
Why are people so paranoid about Endermen picking up blocks? They only pick up naturally generated blocks. they cant pick up ones you placed
'cause you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. The intent may have been for them to only move naturally placed blocks, but right now they'll grab anything and as far as I have observed never actually put it down again.
I just put up a Waterproof Mod, that let's them keep the pickup ability, it's in the description.
I've also updated the links to all the other ones, hopefully these versions should work right for everyone.

yes. yes you are a *****
D/Ling it now :smile.gif:
Nerfing a already impossible mob to die from. Nice.
It's not the dying or lack of it.
It's the maintenance of having to run around and check/replace blocks all over the place because I got griefed by a NPC mob.

Endermen move blocks placed by players as well.
They raped my mob tower something fierce.
