If anyone wants to make a video showing Endermen Don't Pick Up Blocks Mod in action, that would be great.
Maybe you can show a before and after video in The Ender House level, first load up the level without the mod, to show their destructive powers with them picking things up, then install the mod, and unzip a new copy of The Ender House level (important because even after you install the mod, they'll still hold whatever they picked up before you installed it), and show that they won't destroy the house now.
If you do make the video in The Ender House level, be sure to use 1.9 Prerelease 5.
If you can do the video with commentary, that would be awesome.

I didn't expect you to have this updated so quickly. I think I might do that video for you. later today after sleep.rendering it now.30% uploaded. Heres the video on the mod:
Thinking of posting a thread for the video in the video section and it would hopefully get more people to use this mod. Thread HERE.

Awesome, thank you very much for the video of it. :biggrin.gif:
It definitely helps to show people who are checking out the mod, that it does indeed stop them from picking up blocks.
I will be adding it to the first post in the thread, so that everyone can see it.
Your welcome. Glad to hear its going to the first post. I had a few problems trying to install the update but, they were all my faults. lol First I installed 1.9.4 version of the mod into 1.9.5 .JAR and kept getting black screen then I found out I was adding the wrong one since I had both versions in my .minecraft folder. Then it worked and I was able to continue to doing the second half of the video. Surprised I didn't need to cut it at all really when editing. Also hate doing the "deer in the head lights" thing when recording.
Awsome mod thanks for making a server version as well. If you could make one that keeps them from spawning at all I would appreciate it. I don't want to see another enderman for a long time! And I have no intention of ever going to the "end". I hope Skylands is revised at some point.. a world of floating island you can reach in your dreams via bed was a cool idea.
love the mod for my 1.9 pre 5 server. The only some what negative thing I can say is your chose of file host. I dont know if its just me but some times megaupload.com dose not like to load and when it dose its vary slow. maybe you culd put up a mirror some place else.
I would like to download this mod, but i cant because the download link is meagupload and because i am on a college campus, someone is always downloading something so i cant get the mod. Can i ask for a different download link?
Thank you so much for this! I've been playing large-scale adventure maps and the endergrief was unbearable. I don't mind walking through my forest and occasionally finding a hole in a tree (I can chop it down and plant a new one) or finding a sand block missing from a beach and sitting in a nearby swamp. But endergriefing was turning houses/castles in the adventure maps into rubble. And you should see what they did to this one jumping puzzle... >_<;
I'm probably not going to stop using this even in my survival worlds. It's growing on me. :3
Heres a good example as to why they need to taking that feature away form Endermen. Possibly add it to first post for those asking why should we want this mod.
I just wanted to mention for in case anyone is wondering. This does with with OptiFine. I installed this first then "OptiFine 1.9.p5_HD_D2" second for in case the order in which you install them matters and the version. I tested it in the "The Ender House" in the first post to make sure they were compatible.

That's a very good example video, I've added both of them to the first post, thanks guys!
If you use the Prerelease 5 version of both mods it'll probably work, I think I read that the 1.9 versions of their mod don't alter the class files, but I haven't tried it myself.
I may try to make this mod ModLoader compatible after ModLoader is updated to Minecraft 1.0, so that this mod is more compatible with other mods, we'll see.
I won't be updating the 1.8.1 version of this mod though.

I might make a list of mods that this mod is compatible with after Minecraft 1.0 is released, I can tell you for sure that the 1.8.1 version is compatible with Zombe's modpack, I've used both of them together for my main world.
TBH Notch really needs to stop Endermen picking up blocks outside of the The End, except perhaps when they are stared at and are shaking, at which point it makes sense for them to reach out and grab a block of dirt or sand to fight with, but they should drop it on death.
I won't play off peaceful without this mod. I still see what looks like the odd isolated bit of landscape damage (on dirt structures), but I'm not sure how old the damage is (and whether it pre-dates my use of this mod). I repair it when I see it, so hopefully I won't be seeing much more. :smile.gif:
Jeffrey6978: Keep up the good work :smile.gif:
Yeah, it would be great if Endermen outside of The End, only picked up blocks when hostile, as a way to get to you, if you're hiding, and maybe even throw blocks at you to hurt you.
But, randomly picking up blocks when you're not even around, just plain sucks.
I imagine the damage predates your use of the mod, I never even loaded up my main world in anything but 1.7.3 until I completed this mod, and I've been using this mod for my main world constantly since then, and I've never encountered even the slightest bit of damage.
It just goes to show you just how much damage the Endermen can do without you even knowing about it, in the time you played without the mod.
There is probably damage in your caves under the area you were playing in as well.
Wow it hasn't been out for long and you already have an update of this. Thats pretty fast and amazing. Keep up the good work. I was watching someones Let's Play series and they wondered through the woods that they never gone through and the thing was like swiss cheese. I agree having them pick them up what hostile. It would be like the same thing as a creeper blowing up. Your able to avoid them all together or try to kill them before they do damage to the terrain. Though endermen should drop them on death as a reward to killing them before they kill you like killing a creeper before it blows up.
EDIT: Did this mod disable the staring thing too? Cause I went to the Ender House and looked at the Endermen and they don't seem to care. I was walking into them and everything. They turned hostile once I attacked them. Is this a new feature of 1.9.6 pre or a mod thing?

Luckily, it's a fairly simple mod to code, aside from the occasional problem that crops up.
All I have to do is delete some lines of code, and set a few things to false instead of true.
And since I already know where everything is in the Enderman file, I don't need to wait for MCP to update, before coding the mod.
Yeah, that's precisely why I don't mind Creepers (in fact they're my favorite monster), you can avoid them if you're careful enough, and if they end up blowing up, that's entirely your fault.
And with Creepers, you know exactly where the damage occurred, so you know exactly what needs to be fixed.
Endermen just roam around randomly destroying stuff, and a lot of the time you're not even close enough to see it happen, so you end up having to search around for damage.
The reason they weren't going hostile in The Ender House for you, is because Prerelease 6 makes it so that if you are in Creative, you can stare at them all you want without them going hostile.
If you change the level to Survival with NBTedit, they will attack you if you stare at them.
That's a dumb point of view. Just because some people don't like the endermen ability they should play creative instead?
I am trying to get the single player version updated as well, but I'm running into compiler errors.
If you think you can help me solve them, that would be very much appreciated.
Here are the errors I'm getting:
Now, I'm still new at Java (this mod is the only thing I've done with it), so I'm not entirely sure what's going wrong with it.
I'm thinking maybe the compiler is mistaking "public class if extends wf" as an if statement, but I'm not sure how I would fix it.
Here is the server version:

I'm testing out the new single player version of the mod, to make sure it's working right, and I'll upload it shortly.
Sorry for the delay.

I built an "Ender House" around a couple of Endermen in The End, the house is made out of a bunch of materials the Endermen can normally pick up.
As you'll see in the screenshots, they are completely unable to pick up anything.
You can download The Ender House save file here, there are two Endermen inside the house when you load it:
