The mod isn't dead, and saying so will only start arguments.
That's because it's a matter of semantics. You say it's not dead and I'll just say it's in a development hell that it'll never crawl out of. Let's face the facts here, this mod is using a version of MC that's 2 years old. And MC has undergone some major changes in that time; changes that this mod will likely never be adapted to.
There's a very specific reason why you'd be hard pressed to find a new programmer(s) who would be willing to just dive into such a large project without a significant amount of guidance from the original developers. Because it would be a nightmare. You'd have to spend many weeks just to get a complete grasp on its internal design. If you don't, you risk unleashing stampedes of bugs. So anyone here saying "well just go fork the project and update it yourself," has little to no understanding of the complexities of such a task. And unless the original devs come back to devote a huge chunk of time to ensuring this mod keeps breathing, one way or another, then this mod is effectively dead.

Or you could look at the fact that Benimatic is still working on this, and is doing so for the currently most heavily modded of Minecraft that exists. 1.7.10 is the main version for mods right now, and will probably be for a while yet.
Honestly, I'd rather him work on bugfixes and content than spend all his time to keep attempting to port to the latest modded MC version, which will have changed again by the time he does so.
I don't think you understand what "dead" means in this context. The original dev IS working on it. If there was absolutely nothing being done with it, THEN I'd consider it dead. But not as it is right now.
When I start my game I get the "[TwilightForest] Biome ID conflict detected. Fix by editing the config file."
Fair enough. I have many mods, this happens. But, how do I go about finding out EXACTLY what two biomes are conflicting? The in-game message is too vague to be of any help beyond just telling me it's there.
There is a mod called Anti-ID Conflict which well tell you exactly what mod is conflicting with what mod and the ID number and not just for Biomes either
You've awoken on this barren wasteland planet, a civilization once ruled and proud, but where is everyone? All the buildings are empty, nothing remains, all that can be seen is mass hordes in all directions of zombies, skeletons and other creatures never before seen. Inside isn't safe, Outside isn't safe, what will u do to survive this planet and escape? Can you survive the 1st day without death claiming you?
There is no natural light, when night time comes it's pitch black, no moon light and all that is heard is the scratching and moaning of whats around lurking to destroy you. Mining reveals unbeknownst horrors from the rocks just waiting to come out and devour your soul. Puddles of liquid blue or purple are not water, but also intent on harming you.
Just a warning to anyone who uses BrassUtils with this mod, there is a crash, but it doesn't happen until you reach the Highlands area, with the Uberous Soil. You will keep crashing until you remove BrassUtils from the instance. I've reported it, but I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.

Say, this may have already been answered, but I was playing Twilight Forest and my magic map showed something out in the middle of a great lake. I went out there, and there was nothing? Explanation please?

Sometimes, The Erebus really BUGS me...
In video games, you get rekt. In Jurassic Park, you get Tyrannosaurus Rekt.
That. Is. EVIL. Why would someone do that? There's no point... sorry, it just irritates me... since I was recording at the time... though it did help make for an interesting title...

I'm not going to spend 13 minutes looking for what your disappointing at, can you point it out?
Not sure where to report bugs. So I'm just going to drop this here. My apologies if it's the wrong place.
While running Twilight Forest 1.7.10-2.3.7 I began exploring the Ur-Ghast tower. The lag began creeping up rather steadily as I climbed and even after the admin purged all mobs and dropped items we experienced a few crashes. I finally made it to the top and summoned Ur-Ghast and the lag went insane. Entity lag was relatively normal, but network traffic was off the charts... it appears that while Ur-Ghast battle commenced the server was sending countless "Play sound ____" requests to the client, which ended up crashing the game.
Another oddity I noticed was when I died, I had multiple Charms of Life. I heard the sound effect play, but it had consumed all of the Charms of Life in my inventory; not just a single one.
If this is a good idea to the dev, add like a secret room you can find by breaking certain blocks (slightly cracked but hard to tell) in the labyrinth (well really, around the labyrinths border), and if possible, make a yellow medusa. I've already seen green and purple medusas in other games too many times. If you want some more feedback about the room: add like another area with these cracked bricks, the area has some loot in it. Maybe this "throne/nest" has the hidden area, who knows. Or maybe use an existing block, instead of these cracked bricks you can't pick up when you mine them.

It's the mystery symbol in the lake again. I hit that too.

I found this weapon called the Block and chain in the creative mode inventory and it has a cool function, kinda like a flail that destroys blocks.
Does anyone know how to craft this item?
I like castles and the Twilight Forest.
knight metal block, two or thee ingots and a knight metal ring that you craft. If you use NEI it lists the recipe for it.

Say, what is this "Annihilation Cube"?

This is my forum game, play it
I have a problem...
When I create the conditions for a portal to spawn on my server, nothing happens.
I have played this mod many times, so there are no rookie mistakes like not filling in the corners.
But the really strange thing is, it works normally in singleplayer.
Same mods, same config, same blocks, same actions, different result.
There are no errors showing up in the console.
I love this mod an the server is aimed towards exploration, which this mod is perfect for.
So if anyone could take the time to tell me what the solution (or at least the problem) is, I would be most grateful.
the last thhing i saw a WIP in the mod was the throny forest
Can the version of Twilight Forest upgrade to 2.3.8?
And it is a bug of giant

Erm... do you mean that something is planned to be there, but there is already something on the magic map?
