the kobolod spawn is actually intentional. killing him would have gotten you a journal book that would tell you what you needed to do to get into the DF.

I figured it out finally. I had been getting an update notification for DragonAPI, despite me turning its checker off multiple times. I destroyed all 4 portals, closed the game, then updated DragonAPI, and I was able to remake the portal and it works without issue now. I'm guessing something Reika did in that older version of DragonAPI screwed up the portal system, which is not surprising at all as DragonAPI has almost always been the culprit when I've had awkward glitches happening in other mods before.
This is definitely the most AWESOME mod I've ever seen! (fricken love the medieval fantasy elements)
In fact, I love it so much I'll be working on a supporting texture pack!! Please continue being awesome!! > 3 < ♥♥♥

Oh, I also had another problem with Flan's mod vehicles disappearing whilst in the twilight forest, I had 2 different ones that disappeared while i was flying and i died....But I was thinking its because i flew over a biome that wasn't yet unlock and maybe the aircraft took too much damage and just disappeared but maybe i just shouldn't take any Flan's mod into the forest? I'm not sure.
i noticed the wiki isnt working...is there a different one i can use?

Oh i see. I thought it spawned them because it seemed like a little bit too much ore being pulled up (but i do have like 50 mods that spawn ores...) Either way they are useful because i dont have to tunnel underground to find the ores i actually use all the time.

it does not spawn ores, it pulls them up from the ground. if you would dig out under the tree you'd find holes for the moved ores.
You wouldn't find holes, you'd find tiny dirt deposits. Whatever blocks the ores replace are moved to the ores' original positions.

But after a while, the ores start piling up in the air around the tree. So there would be holes.
