Hi there. Loving the mod but noticing a few problems.
I haven't come across any of the little animals just yet, and on the server the whole thing crashes with a concurrent modification error. My friend has been able to force this crash by engaging with groups of redcaps. If a full error report is needed I can post one.
The mods I use are Simple Ores, Netherrocks, Custom Stuff, NEI, Backpacks, Twilight Forest 1.9.0, and Animal Bikes.
Thanks for the information. I've been investigating that crash, but I've not been able to reproduce it. I'm beginning to suspect that perhaps it doesn't happen if there's only one person on the server, like when I'm testing. Perhaps it is something in the Redcap AI causing it. I'll check it out as soon as I get a chance,
this is the BEST mod i have ever PLAYED!!!! It has everything i wanted like giant trees, mazes, wizard towers, and the best thing of all is that it has DIRT BLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May I ask what a maze map does? It appears to do nothing when held in hand
If you got a Maze Map through creative mode or NEI or something, it won't show anything because it will be centered on your spawn. Normal maps work the same way. You need to actually craft it for it to show anything near you.
Speaking of, I updated the main page with information about how the maps work and how to craft them. It's in the Items section.
Love the mod! I took over a Wizards Tower and now it's my base of operations.
P.S. Is it normal to have strongholds right under the ground in the Twilight Forest?
It is, kind of. The current strongholds are just a placeholder for when I eventually make my own. I figured it couldn't hurt to leave them in for the meantime.
So as far as I can tell from the modloader text the mod is loading properly but for some reason I can't get the portal to open
I'm pretty sure it's set up properly. Can anyone help?
It looks set up properly, but the mod can't recognize flowers from other mods. Use the yellow and red ones (or mushrooms or tall grass) only. I'm hoping to change that eventually, but it's not at the top of the priority list.
I recently set up a home server for me and my friends, and thought Twilight Forest would be an excellent addition to give people a place to go fight some tough baddies. However, it seems my computer may not be beefy enough to host this mod. Is it expected for the added level 7 to keep ticking even though no players are there, and to keep over a thousand chunks loaded?
For the time being, I'm gonna have to scrub this one from the server. I love the concept and had fun poking around it in SSP, but just can't handle the server load. My average tick with no players connected dropped from around 20ms with it installed to 1.05ms after removal.
Thanks for producing an excellent mod! I'm looking forward to the day that I can use it in multiplayer!

I think I did see a twitter (or maybe reddit AMA) post from Jeb explaining that he wasn't planning any more dimensions for the time being, because of the load they put on the server.
That said, I think there is an option in the code to unload the dimension when there's no players in it. I didn't use it because, TBH, I'm not a server guru and I wasn't sure if the mod would work or not with that flag set. If it does work, I could perhaps make it an option in the config file.
I don't think it would change the intense server load when there's players in the dimension though, just when it's empty.
I've downloaded the Mod and it's too awesome. I love it. But I encountered a problem. I don't know if something went wrong while I installed it but the Magic Map is just the "Strings" Item. Is it supposed to be like this or is it a bug?
Not sure if this has been mentioned before; or if this is where to mention it but,
The bosses really need to be worked on. Theyre a bit too..... easy, and the reward you get is crap...I was first expecting to get like 5000 xp
but I only went up to level 10... And maybe when you kill them you can get some special item... Like diamonds or something...
heya fellows. AWESOME MOD! now that that's out of the way, i do have a problem. i have equivalent exchange, thaumcraft, and twilight woods installed. i keep trying to combine a raven's feather with the blaze and glow dusts, but it doesn't work. the other thing is, the feather doesn;t look like it does in the preview on the first page. any ideas?

It sounds like something went wrong with your install. The map should have an appropriate icon. Perhaps it's using the normal items sprite sheet for the Twilight Forest items? I don't really know why that's happening.

Liking the new mas though
Thanks for your feedback. How hard the bosses are kind of depends on what kind of equipment you have. They're designed to be 'just right' with iron equipment, so of course they'll be easier with better gear and harder with worse gear. What sort of gear were you using?

A diamond sword. I cant remember if I was wearing armor or not.... But maybe you could make it so when you kill it you get better stuff from it. I got like 4 ender pearls, a gold sword and a ton of bones and that other thing whatever its called...
But otherwise, I love this mod. I love mods that add new content like this.. I wish 'Timber!' would work on the wood there though, that would mean a ton of wood XD
Anyone know of a Sphax PureBD Craft patch for this mod? 16*16 preferably?
EDIT:
Also, after reading/looking back the past couple of pages, I'm liking some of the ideas both you and others have mentioned, and that you have said you'd (eventually) work on.
Going on fro what others have said, I think there should be more powerful items. While I know you don't want to do this much as the vanilla tools/weapons will be useless, you could introdice new monsters that have a weakness to certain weapons, if this is possible. for example, maybe something like 'twilight pixies' that can be harmed well enough with normal weapons, but maybe a sword called 'pixiebane' for example, deals double damage.
Or maybe make like special armoor/clothes that make certain mobs deal less damage, or scare some of.
Like Ghost-walk armour which makes wraiths deal less damage, and can lew you jump higher, or stay up for longer.
Also, maybe make more treasure/rare items that make certsin tasks easier, like boots of speed which make you run faster, or one-use items that allow you to, for a limited time, be invunerable to damage, sprint but not loose hunger, etc.
Thanks, and I love this mod! When (and if) I make a let's play, I'll definately be using this mod

A firefly and an empty glass bottle. Should be on the front page, in a spoiler tag under the items section.

Ouch!
1-2 fps (on fast setting, with just about every video option that Optifine has to offer, set to allow fast execution of graphics) while trying to conquer a wizards tower.
Had a look on the F3 screen, and woot: Number of invisible entities = 7400+ And the other: Currently displays "All:" followed by the number of loaded entities: 7400+ Craziness?
Besides that, I've been enjoying the Twilight Forest so far

The seed and Coordinates are there for you.

We had to do some block ID changing and since the mod_TwilightForest.cfg only had this checksum thing we used the normal TwilightForest.cfg
I know I will always find,
