These videos are kind of old, so a lot of this has been improved on and some other stuff has been added. Also, this is a beta, so if there's any glitches, please reply here so I will know about them and fix them in future versions.
2. Locate your Minecraft directory. It should be in...
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft, or you can hit Start and then in the search bar, type %appdata% and you should be able to find it easily that way.
3. Make a backup copy of your bin folder and your saves folder. This is so you can easily go back to the way you had the game and you won't mess up your current saved games.
4. Extract the "resources" folder in NamCraft.zip to your .minecraft directory. You should have a folder named "resources" already there. This is the sound files for NamCraft, so if your sounds don't seem to be working, you probably don't have this installed to the right location. You'll want to merge this to your existing folder.
5. Open the folder named "Bin" and using WinRar or an equally capable ZIP program, open minecraft.jar.
6. Delete the META-INF folder in that .jar file. (IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOU GET A BLACK SCREEN WHEN YOU START!!!)
7. If you haven't done it already, extract all the files from your AudioMod.zip into your minecraft.jar
8. Open up the folder in NamCraft.zip named "MinecraftJar". Copy ALL the ".class" files, folders, and the .png files and drag them to minecraft.jar, being sure to overwrite/replace the existing files. DO NOT JUST MOVE "MinecraftJar" DIRECTLY INTO minecraft.jar!!!
9. Close minecraft.jar
10.That should be it. Run Minecraft and try not to get killed :wink.gif:
Troubleshooting
Q: I start the game, but it just goes to a black screen and doesn't do anything.
A: Open your Minecraft.jar file and make sure you've deleted the META-INF folder. In other words, check steps 5 & 6 above.
If that doesn't work, open the READ-ME folder and the text document and make sure the version of NamCraft you have
is compatible with your version of Minecraft.
Q: I can play the game, but the sounds aren't working.
A: Make sure you have the latest version of AudioMod installed and make sure the resources folder is installed in your
.minecraft directory. The sounds for the mod (elephant1.wav, jetflyby.wav, etc.) should all be located here...
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resources\mod\sound\namcraft
Q: Why won't NamCraft mod work with this other mod?
A: Namcraft and another mod are trying to use the same file, or share the same number for an item, mob, or whatever, you get a conflict that causes strange things to happen. It's kind of like that movie "The Fly". What happens when the DNA of a human and a fly cross? You get one ugly looking beast. While some mods can work well with NamCraft with no problems, mods that add custom items, blocks, or mobs to the game will likely cause problems. I wish this was not the case, or there was an easy fix for this, but it would take a lot of time for me to redesign Namcraft to make sure they could all be compatible. In a nutshell, Namcraft is designed to be played by itself. The current solution to this is just to keep a backup of your bin folder with NamCraft and have a separate one for your other mods. Switch which ever one you want to play back to your .minecraft folder when you want to play it. If you experience conflicts, see the next question on how to get NamCraft working right.
Q: Why do the animals look like people, or my items don't look, or act like they should?
A: Again, you probably have another mod installed that's causing conflicts. Make sure you have a clean bin folder with no other mods installed that might interfere with NamCraft. To make sure you're using a clean bin folder, cut your bin folder, or even everything in your .minecraft folder, and paste that into another separate folder on your desktop, or somewhere else for safe keeping. Now start up the Minecraft launcher like you usually do and it should download all new files to your .minecraft folder. After that, reinstall Namcraft, Audio Mod, and the resources folder like normal and it should work.
I installed it, and so far it works great! The only problem I had was that the coconuts, for some reason, use the texture for the upper half of an orange portal from the Portal Gun mod. I'm just changing that texture to a coconut.
Amazing mod, just note in the OP that it's not compatible with the Portal Gun mod. For some reason, Portal Gun mod textures end up replacing NamCraft textures.
now make it so we the players can drive the helicopters!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!
I'd really like to do that, but that's a little bit beyond my programming skill level right now. Perhaps in future versions I'll do that, but I can't really promise anything. Right now the Hueys just drop supplies for you, but I'd like to make it so they target Vietcong and NVA and fire rockets at them.
Oh and yes, there might be some incompatibility with some other mods, so you might want to start with a clean copy of Minecraft before installing. I do know it does work well with Single Player Commands Mod though.
ps: Elephant should be ridable like in vietnam they use to do in the war :smile.gif:
I have thought about that. I've a lot of stuff I want to add to this, so I didn't put that at really high priority, but it still might get done in the near future.

No, just AudioMod, if you want the sound f/x to work.
Be my guest :biggrin.gif:
