I am retiring from Minecraft modding
A couple reasons really.
First off, this whole actually having a job thing means I have way less time than I did before. Eight hour office job plus an hour commute each way (though I do plan to move).
Second, what spare time I have I'd like to spend doing something, I don't know, actually social.
Third, I'm just kind of burnt out, mainly due to remaining relatively unknown these past months.
So yeah. This is kind of sudden, but it's for the best for me to just pull out here rather than dragging things out with "but I'll update soon!" nonsense. Nobody likes that. For the mods themselves, I am turning the source over to the Technic team (and specifically TehKrush) who have pledged to update them. Be nice to them!
I won't be updating the mods here anymore, but I'll leave this thread open for any discussion about them that people want to have. It's been a great few months, and all of you fans have been wonderful, but it's just time for me to move on. I'll not really be watching this thread but I may (may) answer PMs and I'll probably be in the technic pack IRC because those guys are the best and deserve all your support.
Thanks for all the support and hopefully the game and its mods will only continue to get better even after I leave. Have fun!

power crystals has been a part of Technic from the beginning, did you not know this? His power convertor blocks were a request by me that he graciously put together. He is among the best coders in the Minecraft modding scene and its sad to see him go.
Now, being the extremely cool, level headed and classy guy he is he has given his source to us (or rather, to TehKrush) specifically to keep things rolling.
Technic is a Good Thing™ for the community, even if we don't bother trying to have a presence here on the MCForums.
i was actually consdering downloading the minefactory mod, but knowing you support the technic pack, i will not be going near any of these mods.
The major forge modders have basically all been pressured into acceptance of the technic pack by the community and enticed by small donations. It sets a bad precident, and I for one won't use it either, but I won't complain if they won't.
You know who else supports Technic? Eloraam, sole maintainer of the Forge. You should stop using all Forge mods now. Please, go on, we'll wait.
1. I would like to see a quote from Eloraam saying she "supports" it and not just that she accepts it.
2. Even if El does support it, many of the other forge based modders don't, such as Sir Sengir of Forestry and Alblaka of IC2. It's rediculous to say you should drop all forge mods because one modder is ok with it.

I don't think you are getting what I'm saying: Eloraam makes FORGE ITSELF, not just her mod, she is the only person doing the day-to-day of updating the API. All other mods depend on her work. Why not ask her yourself what she thinks of Technic, unlike everyone else in the MC community she is not a big attention-seeking baby so she doesn't make huge declarations when it isn't really necessary; everyone should know this by now if they follow her at all.

Where do you guys get your information? Why do you guys feel the need to speak for people you don't know about things you don't understand? Preassured into accepting Technic because of donations? How would that even work?

I for one always enjoyed power crystals mod, i am sad to see him leave but do understand his reasons. I wish you well my friend, thanks for all your hard work and hope your future is bright. That being said i think i am gonna give mightyporks Powercraft a try, i like the idea of conveyors and his seems pretty good.
