i don't know if this has already been suggested, but what if there was a device you could make that could reverse these effects by moving the planet farther from the sun? you would need a crap-ton of redstone, gold, and diamonds to do it, but it would make the sun smaller and stop it from burning everything. maybe something like a pants-shape of gold with 1 redstone in the middle and a diamond on the bottom makes a graviton thingy, and 9 of these makes some mid-stage thingy, of which a + shape of makes a planet pusher or some such. (sorry. i may be good at science, but i'm really bad at naming things) this device would take maybe 2-3 days to take the sun down one stage, or something like that. it wouldn't happen as fast as the initial transformation; maybe 2x-4x as long. you'd still have to replant all the trees, break all the glassified sand, wait for grass blocks to spread, etc., but i think that helping the world recover from this disaster could be fun, too. it would be a lot more fun than putting a glass roof over the entire world, which is what i'm trying to do now.
I've been doing a Let's play on this mod, I really love it.
After a few days playing on Hard mode tho, the game started to show lighting bugs and was reducing my FPS (while recording).
When I did the last episode, I realized I was playing on Peaceful that time, so I put it on Hard again and suddenly my FPS crashed down to 20 and below.
Any idea how this happened?
My youtube account is here btw.
Thanks in advance,

when you load a new chunk the game need to play catch up as new chunks have grass and trees. (i fixed it, now new chunks are pre destroyed)
Either incompatible with Moloader, ModloaderMP, or Mineforge. I think it's Mineforge, but anyways, the incompatible thing is when placing a torch, the game crashes.
So far I'm able to do most of the things I want in modloader this "should" make it compatible with stuff. still have a few small things to figure out.
I would love to see the eclipse that lets you safely go on the surface for a short time would be awsome love to see the destroyed world. I'll keep watch for this i will download if there is something like this! Great job otherwise.

I decided to allow above ground travel at night however if the world above is lava you wont get far :tongue.gif:

At long last I found away to stop the storms.
Status update
I have had major success with mod loader i can get everything working except for:
Sun growth will need to mod a base file (shouldn't affect any other mods its purely decorative) same file should control sky color when i find it.
Mobs spawning at night on the surface I want to remove this badly but need to mod the spawn code unless i can find a way in mod loader to do it.
I have been having fun with the particles commands I'm going to build my own particle type for some fun visuals :tongue.gif:
I hope to have the modloader version done in a few days, depending on how much time I get to work on it.
When I was asking Silver_Weasel about a missing part of one version of his mod (sky color), he said the sky color is in the same class as terrain generation (in 1.7.3, that'd be yf.class).
Speaking of his Wasteland mod, maybe the Solar Apocalypse is how his world came to be. Plant life and oceans gone? Check. Random fires? Check. Shelters partially burninated, leaving only rubble and the ocassional flooded basement? Check. Only thing is, the sun is normal size there, so maybe it's a few centuries after the Solar Apocalypse, and Minecraftia has settled back into its original orbit.

Why is there random light spots located all over the landscape. It is like there are invisible blocks that emit light all over the place. Is there any reason for this?
Can somebody explain to me how to install this mod on a server? It says to put it in minecraft_server.jar but I can't find that when I search my entire computer.
Where it starts ripping blocks up from the ground every now and then. Doing similar to your idea of the lighting
