I have uploaded a new version featuring another, relative-to-your-stuttering approach to fix this.
Thanks for that. It has slowed down the decent to only a meter every couple of seconds. And when I face straight up towards the sky it is able to push up enough to keep me from falling at all, but as soon as I start to look downwards from the sky I start falling again. This is consistent and doesn't happen at all with SPC /fly. Proof at least that you aren't using their code. :wink.gif:

Well this is the issue with not modifying EntityPlayer, i cannot change the in-between-frames falling to zero.
It's definitely an FPS problem, i can watch my y position down to the 10^-12th figure and its NOT FALLING.
- changed upward push to be even more aggressive
Now I understand what's going on then, that makes sense. What you changed has made a huge difference for me. Thanks!
There is still a tiny bit of variability for me when I have more mods installed. Usually it won't drop more than 4/10ths of a meter now before stabilizing. Even then it may eventually go back up some more, and occasionally it shoots up a couple of meters, then gradually end up back where it started. But most of the time it remains stable enough that it won't cause me any difficulties.
The other system I have to use, Vista, has some weird problem where it keeps running into Java out of memory errors even though it has the exact same amount of memory allocated as the one on my home XP system which has never had a memory crash, both 32bit.
That isn't your issue, but it presents an interesting extreme test case for your mod because as the client gets closer and closer to the Java memory crash the falling issue with HAX grows stronger and stronger with predictability. Even with this newest version. It starts off very stable though, proving that your solution is making a big difference. But eventually gets to where even it starts to fall steadily and pretty fast. :wink.gif:
I think you have successfully made a huge difference for anyone with a reasonably slow or overloaded client! I would rather have a little bit of this problem than for you to have to do anything that would sacrifice any compatibility. Compatibility is the Core strength and purpose of the HAX mods so far as I'm concerned, please keep it like that.
Again; thanks for listening and coming up with the explanation and solution that you did. It helped. :smile.gif:
Hey AtomicStryker, could you make a mod that changes flight to keybinds like Zombe's Flymod? [At least do Q for down and E for up] I wanted it to OVERLAP old flying with or without modifying base classes. Could you possibly make an option to toggle flying in survival mode? Like, F to fly.
[NOTE: I posted this before seeing the zombe's mod pack for 1.8.1]
That was fast! Unfortunately; I now die the instant I touch ground again in 1.8, regardless of how slowly I touch down.

This time it happens to me too, OMG. The falldamage var is not correctly set to zero (or theres a new one).
However trying to fix it in obfuscated code is like trying to rewire a bomb ... in darkness
The 1.8 Simplyhax fly, is glitchy. Lowering your self onto a block, or right above a block with ctrl causes severe damage or kills you instantly. Also, you tend to bob up and down while flying, which either causes you to teleport above the clouds or, if you are under something while fying, kills you instantly. :angry.gif:
No good comment to give in cheating (mod) threads. :dry.gif:
LOL, why is flying considered a cheat? Anyone ever wonder when they debug the game for errors that they couldn't just fly around by pressing a few keys? Since the capability of flying is even built into the code is proof enough that it was put there intentionally for that purpose.

While using the flying I was able to set the key bindings to what I wanted, but the other stuff I was not able to. Such as, when I fly, I cannot change the speed. I tryed 1-10 and nothing worked. Also, with the sprint/speed modifier, I put it at .01 and it still went about 23523 mph.. Any help, please?

When I'm With You I Feel 3 Pounds Lighter... Probably Because You Bore The Sh*t Out Of Me...
Unfortunately minecraft enforces certain 'engine' limits as to how fast entites can move (with friction or without) unless you set their acceleration to something ridiculous (which results in teleporting or plateless Aerial Faith plating)
you should add the abbility to throw computer moniters at players on SMP. should be a great way to prevent griefing. also funny. *sees a griefer* HAAAAAAAX HAX HAAHAHAHAHHAHAXXHXHXHXAHAXHXASHAHXAXHAX *tons of computer moniters get thrown at griefer* see what I mean? :laugh.gif:

So, wait, anyone who uses this mod is simply "cheating", but it's not cheating if you use it? :U
