I was playing around with this for about 5 minutes. I must say I like it, but a minor set back for me.
Upon using the speed modifier (left shift), you could not control the direction where your player is moving unless you stop, turn, start flying forward and then use the speed modifier again.
If you come to a complete stop and hold shift, you start going in the direction you were last flying.
These are minor problems that set me back, since I'm used to having that speed modifier to move around quicker.
I used no other mods, only Mod Loader and this. Most recent Minecraft version, modloader version and simply hax version.
If you need any more information, I'll be glad to give it, but I'm sure it's just a honest mistake in the code.
Keep on strong Atomic, and continue making great mods.

Holding the speed button amplifies whatever xz motion you have regardless of which buttons you press or your heading. I could code something elaborate to incorporate heading, right now i dont feel like doing it.

I would be more than happy to attempt to code in the heading, if you wouldn't mind of course.
The source is provided, I just want to make sure if you wouldn't mind me doing so. I had problems in the past when authors didn't tell me I could modify their source >.>
Ended up losing some money, oh well.

Will this work on servers as well? I just need to know for when I update the listing in my thread. :wink.gif:
Oh, and does the current version as of this time (I just redownloaded it, no version numbers? :tongue.gif:) also include the "lock the players y axis" you mentioned earlier, or is that a maybe for later?
The "Sprint" flying isn't the best, it seems to have exponential acceleration until you reach the cap.. Something that Zombe's mod does not do, and is instead a simple multiplier. Also at default speed, you move too fast and my SMP server kicked me for moving too quick! (Flying was allowed in settings) Again Zombe's max doesn't cause this issue, and is still pretty quick.
The other thing that stops me using this over zombe's is the fact you take falling damage. That is something that is a real turn off for me. Disable Falling damage when exiting fly mode, and make the "sprint" function a simple movement multiplier and I will reconsider.
Anything that reduces the chances of conflicts is great in my books, but only if it works well.
Also, consider adding the option to increase non-sprint speed while flying as well as the sprint speed. I like to be able to fly faster than I can walk for building. Then having the sprint to cover larger distances.
I'll stick with Zombe's for now, but it's bound to conflict one day.

Well it has happened: Zombe's gs.class conflicts with the latest version of MineForge 1.0.5. So I'm jumping on to this mod. Thanks for this.
But as slothy89 stated, one always get hurt when landing. Can you change this or make it an option perhaps?
I was thinking of another "Cheat" mod that would be useful to have. Lighting - by this I mean a key to light up the surrounding area so I can see what the heck I am doing at night/while spelunking.
edit: oh and I would love it if you could see if you could do something about the fall damage, I die all the time when attempting to land, and this happens both from just turning off flying, and from using the down button till I hit the ground.

I can't reproduce this. I never get fall damage from flying, both in mcp test environment and my heavily modded main MC binary. Do you have another mod that might be the cause of it.
Can you add zombe's ore detecting? I want to find lots of shiny ^^
Technically, i could. However zombe's ore and "cheat" packages don't really conflict with any mods since they use exotic classes for their hooks. Plus i have my Finder Compass, and i don't really want to make mods that obsolete each other.

Same here, I've never gotten any fall damage from it, but I also have not adjusted the cfg speeds in any way (default settings so far). I've tested HAX fly with the following all installed at the same time:
No fall damage with default settings. I've also only ever used it in SSP.
However; I do have that feather fall problem where I keep falling slowly in a somewhat erratic way (even when it's only HAX and modloader), mostly when I'm not perfect straight and looking forward.

This is in SMP, is it possible this is the reason? Have yet to test in SSP

Well, i can tell for sure that Free Running is also modifying "falling", and perhaps the Pressure Plate mod. Try disabling Free Running?

Motionless movement inbetween ticks. I guess i could lock the players y axis.

No the locked y axis isn't in yet. It's just a matter of 3 or 4 lines of code but its too damn hot to do anything.
Great, thanks. I've updated my Cubic Chunks support mod listing and recent news post.

Do you do anything specific. Or do you just fly up and down, and upon touching ground you get hurt every time.
