Hooray! Steve Jobs is dead. To show my appreciation for him FINALLY going away, I'll go ahead and finish production on the Mac version. It's almost done. We just need (I think) one more test.
If my comment regarding Steve Jobs offends you, I've got an app for that.
Anyway, any help for a guy using a 64-bit Windows?
Absolutely! I was beginning to think nobody was using my mod anymore. Are you running 7 or Vista? Also, what happens when you try to run the executable?
Just a quick update on the progress of the update, I'm just about ready for a new release. The holidays will take more time to update, but since it's not quite December yet, I'm going to go ahead and release without updating the holidays just yet and will aim for a more updated update before December 1.
One holdup has been that the Blaze mobs and the brewing stand all together don't sit well with me, so I've been turning my gears trying to come up with a way to make more sense of it. My work in progress has Blazes that look more like the lost souls from the Doom series and they drop a orange/red "soul stone" in place of the blaze rod which is then chambered in the construction of the brewing stand and generates the power/heat required for distilling. When crafted, the "soul" will produce 2 "crushed souls" that will more appropriately integrate with the combined crafting items.

Also, with RandomMobs integrated in to MCPatcher, I now have the opportunity to implement mob varieties without concern for compatability, so you can look forward to that as well.
Lost-Soul Blaze is finished (I think). Items are in progress. Cacodemon-inspired magma cube was a huge bust. Might just borrow something else as a filler until I come up with a better idea. HATE brewing stand. I know how to build the textures for it, it's just wonky as hell. Liked the cauldron idea better, but it wasn't executed correctly. Going to build my own game and make cauldrons work correctly.
im new on using mods and i dont know how to put the mod on\
There are very detailed installation instructions included in the download. Not trying to be evasive at all. Rather, the best way for me to help you is if you follow the instructions and tell me which specific part you're having trouble with.
We're currently working to resolve a dispute between Jens and the mod development/content creation community. Until we find a resolution, there will be no updates. See the Get Satisfaction link for more info.

At this point, I've given up on Jens taking the format back to the original standard since he's made a public statement on his open refusal to comply regardless the countless hours of labor he's caused all content creators to endure.
Now, I just want an apology for being a **** about it. It doesn't necessarily need to be a personal apology to me, but at least addressed to the modding and content creation community as a whole for destroying an established standard with no warning, for providing no support in resolving the issue, and for being such a hard-assed ***** in his response to inquiries about the issue. And it needs to be very public. I won't accept any of this Twitter or Reddit ******** where it will just get buried in a pile of minutia after five seconds. I want something like a YouTube video or personal letter embedded on the Minecraft site somewhere. It's just an apology. I'm not asking for much.

I should also mention, the Mac version is unfortunately on hold. I've got a copy of leopard downloaded, but I can't get it to run properly in PearPC. I could dual-boot, but I'm REALLY not a fan of Mac OS and don't want to do anything that would semi-permanently saddle me with zombie Steve Jobs' love child. If this catches the eye of anyone with bash or shell scripting experience on the Mac OS and you'd like to take a crack at it, please contact me.
This mod reminds me of Animal Crossing lol, both use the real dates for seasons. I could see myself switching my computer's time and date just to speed up time... Really cool concept when applied to Minecraft

I love Animal Crossing. It's so peculiarly and unexpectedly entertaining. That was a big part of my inspiration. Props to you for recognizing that subtle influence!
Have you considered being able to launch the Seasons Launcher through the command line thus being able to indirectly allocate extra RAM to Java when launched?
This is would be rather great addition to the mod (I think) you could be able to use custom texture packs while reducing lag! Just a thought. Great mod though! I like it a lot.
Edit: Could you possibly compile a rewrite of your mod into an Executable .Jar File for testing purposes? To run with customized Java Heap sizes? If so I'll help beta test and build a Batch launcher based on your Season Launcher

Technically, you already can. I'm not sure why nobody has caught on to this yet, but this project is COMPLETELY open source and the source is included in the download along with the compiler. The whole this is written in simple batch script for Windows and shell script for Linux. This was done to keep the complexity low so that it would be easy for users to modify to their liking. All you'd have to do is remove the line of code that calls minecraft.exe and replace it with your command parameters for the memory expansion.
To your second question, it already is a batch launcher, it's just moderately complex as far as batch scripting goes. Still, if you're fairly familiar with batch scripting, you should be able to figure it out without much difficulty. The more complicated part is the set-up where it uses script networking among multiple files, not to mention the self-destruct sequence.
As far as java is concerned, I've always hated it. It's too clumsy and there are so many more efficient languages. Not to mention I'm a self-professed shitty programmer. Minecraft is really the only case I would call an exception, and even then there is constantly a bug list a mile long. The success lies not in the prospect that java is a good programming language so much as the fact that it's such a great concept that people are generally willing to overlook the bugs. So the popular thing is to insist that everything be written in java because that's how Notch did it and he knows everything. My answer to that is a simple no.

Go here and add your vote to this problem. Nothing is getting updated until this gets fixed.

Also, follow this link and add your vote to get this new huge bug fixed so I can resume updating my mods and texture packs.
