Evil Minecraft is a mod in development that will eventually be a total conversion of Minecraft into a completely new experience for players. The features of the current build as well as the download link are located below, in spoilers. We're currently moving towards v0.7, which will be even more extensive!

Q: Where are the crafting recipes for Evil Minecraft? A: You can find the current list of crafting recipes on our wiki, http://wiki.evil-minecraft.net. It's not a complete list, but as a part of the community, it helps us if everyone can contribute to their finds!
Q: Why do I keep getting this error? A: If you are getting errors, it's suggested you use MCError, record the output in a text file, and report the issue on http://bugs.evil-minecraft.net but before you post another bug, please search there and you might see if someone already has your solution!
Q: Is Evil Minecraft compatible with any other mods? A: Currently, Evil Minecraft is incompatible with every other mod that edits a base file that we have edited. The ones that people confirm work are Risugami's Recipe Book
Q: Why can't I launch with MagicLauncher? A: For some reason, MagicLauncher isn't installing or launching Evil Minecraft correctly which brings us to the conclusion that MagicLauncher is incompatible.
Q: Is Evil Minecraft compatible with SMP? Or is there an SMP version? A: The answer to both of these questions is 'No.' We aren't aiming for SMP compatibility for some time so we can focus on making the features as well made as possible. Eventually we'll have an SMP version out.
Q: I have a suggestion, where can I post it? A: Currently, we have a subreddit that you can use for suggesting things for Evil Minecraft, but you can also suggest them via the bug tracker. You can post in the thread, but there's less of a chance of us seeing that!
Patches
There currently aren't many patches for Evil Minecraft and other mods, but the list of compatible mods with links to the patches will be below.

With this update we've introduced races! Each have their own pros and cons, making a new gameplay experience with each different race. Halflings are especially different, being less than a block tall and able to fit into areas of that size(half-doors coming in the future).
New Main Menu

In v0.666 of EvilMinecraft, we've introduced a new main menu! From this you can access any of the other menus, including the new race system menu by clicking on your character! The background block texture also changes when you reload the game.
New Block Breaking System

We have introduced and entirely new block break system. When you go to break a block and stop part way through, it will actually save its damage state in intervals. If you have 'fancy block renders' on in the EvilMinecraft options, it will also make this have a three-dimensional effect(along with making things such as rails and ladders and grass have new rendering as well).
New Torch System

Our new torch system incorporates a feature that Notch had planned to add, but ended up not adding in the end. Normal torches now have a limited lifespan, and must be lit using a lighter. All old normal torches are automatically converted to what are called 'lanterns'. Essentially, these are glowstone torches that don't run out. Along with the system itself, torches now emit light when you hold them(optional, as it hasn't been fully optimized yet).
Blood!

Blood! Need I say more? When the player or a mob takes damage, they shoot off little blood particles, and blood stains the ground for a short time. If in water, the blood will dissipate to surrounding water blocks, slowly making the blood fade.
Display Cases

As a small addition, we've added something people have been asking to be added to Minecraft for quite a while - display cases.
New Decorative 'Blocks'

The mod features a wide arrangement of new 'decorative' blocks, such as walls and chairs.
Locked Chests

Chests can now be locked using a key! This is quite useless at the moment, but in v0.7 it will help protect against various things such as halfling thieves that will try to steal from your precious chests.
Coin system

A fairly 'traditional' coin system has been added. Mobs now drop coins of different values(copper, silver, gold, platinum). In v0.7, this will be used in a trading system!
Improved Jungles

Having been working on jungles before Mojang, we take jungles very seriously! We made them feel more like true jungles, not a very 'safe' place. Dinosaurs, spiders, and more now lurk waiting to simply kill you.
Slime Blocks

There are now two types of slime 'blocks'. One is the full block - it's bouncy. The second is a thin layer that slows you down, which is left wherever slimes go.
New Nether & End Content

The Nether and The End have both seen a fair deal of new content - ranging from black holes and ender creepers to firestone ore and evil wizard zombie pigmen.

There are various new kinds of tools and armor - ranging from ender dragon scale to bone. As well, there are now 'hammers' that are used for 'harvesting' walls and repairing a block's damage state.

Snow biomes have received a fair deal of content in v0.666. Ranging from thin/cracked ice to icicles in trees to igloos to the 'zero' mob, there's a lot of new content to discover in the tundra/taiga biomes.

Graveyards

Spawning throughout the world, graveyards now spawn. At night, these turn into very hostile places with many zombies spawning. Each of them has four pillars, on top of which rests a pot of chance. What do they hold? Is it good? Is it bad? That's for you to find out.

Mud and quicksand now spawn in various places in the world(also as shown, there are mummies). If you get caught in quicksand, it's very dangerous as you can easily suffocate unless you get out. Mud slows you down.
Food!

Food is a very important thing. With the addition of new food drops(mutton, steaks, etc.), along with sandwiches, chocolate cake and more, you now have a much larger variety of things to satisfy your hunger meter!

Options for some features

We've included an 'Evil Minecraft' section of the options, in which you can turn some of the features on and off. In the future, this will be expanded to be many, many of the features.

Along with various other new mobs, items, blocks, systems, worldgen features, and more!
Our next update, v0.7, will be released when it's ready. It will feature a plethora of new water content(improved swimming, deeper and more 'living' oceans, possibly a playable mermaid race even!), a new dimension, a new inventory system, and much more!
The Team:
Now, you may be asking the question 'Who's making this all?' to yourself? Below is our team member list. You may not see work from someone on our team for a while, due to the fact that many of them have their own things to deal with(this project's being worked on in everyone's free time!) and some things that people are working on take a while before being able to be shown. If you wish to join the team, e-mail , we need many different skillsets!
We will not be allowing this mod into modpacks, for one main reason: Compatibility. Our team's focus isn't to make things compatible with other mods, it is to create a total conversion. We would rather spend time developing new features than making it work with other mods. To add on to that, this means that you can't distribute it in any way, shape, or form without authorization. If you are making some kind of 'update', 'patch', or any kind of file that provides a modification to our mod(for instance, a patch making it compatible with another mod), please contact us first before you release such a thing. Modloader has been packed in with the mod, with permission from Risugami.
Adventure Mode Angst? This is the CURE!! Thank you guys so much!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
People are funny. Even a five-year-old knows how to spend money, but there’s plenty of adults who don’t know how to earn it. They feel better handing over money than bowing their head and taking it. They go on and on about how the customer’s always right, always the winner but isn’t that supposed to be how the seller feels, not them? But if everyone’s spending, who’s left to provide the service? I think a society where people prefer earning to spending is a healthier one.

this looks like it is going to be good. just make sure to try to seperate from other mods more. mo creatures has boars and more creeps has giant chickens. i am not saying that u are copying, but telling you to branch out more
Your friendly neighborhood Kingpin here...
Very much looking forward to the final release. After watching the chimney vid, i was very impressed with your work. I am actually looking forward to the vines/ropes of all things. Imagine that. Just my opinion, don't listen to the Mo'fans, i sure don't. 'Keep in koding'
Woot for Fridays!
I've got some suggestions here that fit the "Evil Minecraft" theme, if you like.
1. Small creatures that latch onto the side of blocks, and are practically indistinguishable from the block itself until you hit them. When this happens, they swarm off the blocks and attack.
2. Chance of cave-ins in caves. If you look up the Minecraft rip-off Total Miner, you'll see they have a pretty cool cave-in system.
3. The Nether mobs look cool, how about adding some kind of really long and disturbing centipede?
4. A property file. I think the Giant Chicken thing is a bit stupid, but love the boars, camouflage creepers, dungeons, and vines.

It changes color on its legs too.
Gimme
They are REALLY hard to find. We're probably going to make them more common in a future update.
Next update will have them being more frequent, larger, and also with chests/spawners(or other things ).
Currently they look like this, somewhat:
