Adds a block that creates a lightning bolt when triggered by redstone.
good for traps, adventure maps, and mad scientist lighting effects.
you can now make golden coils, which strike all NPCs within a ten block radius
Block ID, used 189, 190

warning, 1.3.1 is glitchy due to the integration of client and server, the mod works but you won't be able to see the lightning =[. Working on fix atm.

v4: can now make golden coil which hit everything in a 10 block radius except the player.
v3: now multiplayer compatible.
v2: lightning bolts now spawn in the lowest air block above the tesla coil.
Very very awesome~ an excellent addition to my complicated jumble of mods I'm using to make an adventure map. Would be even more awesome if you could get it to connect from one to another, for lighting doors or walls or something.... Though I suppose I could just cover the floor necessary with them, and tada! Lightning walls.
What is likely a simpler request: can you make it SMP compatable?
I wouldn't say this is about looks. its rather about performance. A tesla coil was made, which can cause lightning. why not have a thunderstorm boost the power of the tesla coil? that would certainly be realistic as a tesla coil can work in conjuntion with Cumulo-Nibus clouds (thunder clouds) for inceased power... i think. anyway, why not also create an EMP to fry electronics based blocks or tools ingame??
I am having a problem with the golden coil. The iron coil works fine and pulls lightening. But if I replace the iron coil with a golden coil, everything else staying the same, the golden coil does nothing on activation.
My test setup is a lever then redstone dust, across the floor, to the coil. Iron coil, works fine, golden coil, nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
The textures only come up as 2d, purples squares. this has happened with other mods before. Anyone feel like helping? Never mind. I used MCPatcher to fix it. Still, check my other comment.

This really looks good and I'd love to try it.
found out it works with more creeps and wirdos and mo creatures
/cough
I'll take two.
..Shame you can't make them sing.
No, really, singing Tesla coils. Makes for some interesting-sounding music. That still sounds like the song.
..Won't go into that now, though.. Would be amazing if you could get normal lightning to maybe attract towards them, or maybe even arc between two.
I dunno, just ideas. Perfect as-is, though. Well, almost. Perfection is impossible.. And the texture's a little meh. Other than looks, it's good!

wtf?
its compatible with almost anything if you have id resolver.
can i make a request. change the texture. make a circle looking perhaps? one that's presentable on tesla towers :biggrin.gif:
