Just a small question as I've never used forge before, but will it solve my "Ran out of terrain sprites" problem? I just installed something and ran out.
Any mod that uses forge, probably also uses forge's built in infinate terrian system - mods that don't use forge don't use this system, so it will in one aspect solve terrian sprite issues, and in other not help with the issue at all. Basically i am saying if you only use forge mods you will never have that issue.
Also you've been known to post many anti-forge posts around the forum and you've never even tried it? pathetic.
Regardless if you need any further help i am here to help you

I don't post anti-forge post, I merely state that the mods I have might be broken by Forge. I may be wrong, but I just installed the latest version (3.0.0.69 I think) and the game crashed. All the mods I use don't use Forge, so I'm back to the beginning of my problem.
I need a tad bit of assistance, please. none of the minecraft forge 1.4.1's are working for me. i install one of them in my minecraft 1.2.3 and try to run it. then it gets stuck at the "UPDATING MINECRAFT" done loading dirt screen. and will not pass it. any clues as to why this is doing it? it does it with EVERY 1.4.1 version of forge. I am indeed using minecraft 1.2.3
Cheers!

OK, tried out the newest build and can't use it either. I have a lot of mods that have class conflicts with Forge and either the classes from the mods are used instead of Forges and the game crashes or Forges classes are used instead of the mods and the game crashes.
*sigh*
Hopefully, Jeb and Mojang will implement more terrain sprites in a future build.
Thanks anyway to those who have tried to help me.

Life is a Learning Curve.... Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
Sorry if sound dumb but the way this is listed in the downloads is kinda throwing me off and I just wanna make sure I am getting the right thing... I am using Minecraft 1.2.5 so that means I would want to get the one that says:

What i would like is some sort of status report on what's going on from one of the developers of forge.
With the talks on going to FML instead of modloadermp i'm getting confused on what to expect and when we can expect something.
So if someone could inform us a bit on how things are progressing and what to expect.
Because i have now a version 1.2.5 running with mlmp and forge 72 with a few mods for 1.2.5 or some that can be used from 1.2.4.
how far is this transition and will all mods need to recompile against the new fml and such? i'd like to know what's to be expected so i can exert enough patience waiting for the mods to update and refrain from bugging to much.
There is no reason whatsoever to be so rude. For persons new to minecraft, all this talk about versions can be very confusing.

I am someone that usually does not use this forum to post my opinions, but i am making an exception. I totally AGREE, there is no reason to be rude. I myself also had to look a few times and even then was a little unsure of what to download for my needs. This is coming from a mod author and someone who has been involved with Minecraft and the community for over a year now. I came to this thread looking for info on using the Forge as a prerequisite for my project. I DID read, and visit, the new site the guys are working on but i felt the need to defend a fellow Minecrafter. All he did was ask a question. Folks should not be made to feel bad for doing that.

How should I install Forge?

Try 3.0.0.70
Can you post a link. Nasty Flu I have is killing me.
NVM, found it.
Should I install it first or after all the other mods I use?

FOR MINECRAFT 1.0.0 ONLY
<MC 1.0.0> 1.2.5 Client (MediaFire link) or 1.2.5 Client (SourceForge link)
?
Thanks!
