I fully support the aether team's decision. It seems that allot of players cheat in minecraft, And personally i dont think i would enjoy minecraft at all if i just spawned in items.
This mod, in no way, uses any code from the Aether Mod. Therefore, no one has any right to forcefully take it down, as that is the only rule I can find that would prevent this from being downloaded.
EDIT: Not to mention, even if it WAS against the rules, which it isn't...
Anyone could still write a personal mod to undo their hiding of items in TMI. I will attempt now!
Anyone who doesn't want to earn these items legit is just a lazy ****. I mean you might as well just cheat in some infinite diamond armour with TMI, then go to the boss, never die, and just kill him, but no. You guys have to take it to the next level, where you have to even cheat in items which are simple to get with infinite armour and a bit of flying around in the Aether.
So no, I don't approve, I don't want any hack to come out for the dungeon items.
That is just your opinion. TMI is a very useful tool for testing a mod and having fun. I lost interest in "legitimate" Minecraft a LONG time ago. Do you know why I still play? Multiplayer and hacking items in to build stuff and spawn a ton of mobs and fight them all with different loadouts with different mods, seeing what is best if I had played legitimately.(With regular armor in case you were wondering) or testing a mob spawning room addition I made, or making a computer, or something else I came up with that has to do with a mod I got. I still occasionally play legitimately, with mods that make legitimate fun to me again, but I lose interest within half a month. That is my opinion, you better not force YOUR OWN OPINION on me.
download removed temporarily by request of kingbdogz.
Wow, this upsets me. I was first appalled to see this mod (I thought Aether should be played without cheating), but after it has crashed on me a couple of times, and destroyed my items, I finally decided to get this.
for me...I'm glad this came up because I once had a lot of goodies from aether (took me a lot of resets to get around aether...too much lag) and then 1 fine day it portal crashed on me and I lost them all
here's what I had...previously
vampire blade
lightning sword
flaming sword
phoenix plate (chest armor)
phoenix boots
zen rings
neptune gloves
phoenix bow <- this is 1 powerful weapon
and the buggy invisible cape (if you're wondering what bug it has...well those guys shooting snowballs? they can see you. and you can't even open a chest with that equipped)
King is right in his decision... It was his hard work you are making useless. If you made something, and someone disabled it, would you be glad? Especially if you worked on it for 5 months?
He worked on disabling someone else mod for 5 months?
I believe people should have a right to use this patch. If they don't want to play the mod normally, that's up to them. I also wouldn't call this a "hack". But I can say one thing, this is kind of disrespectful to the creators of the Aether mod for someone to just purely cheat and not play the game legitimately.
I appreciate your decision to comply with the Aether-dev teams request ^^
Imho, people should be free to play however they want, HOWEVER, as well modders should be free to set the freedome-of-players limits of their mods however they want, as well.
My mods will probably never have such a hide function (as i couldn't bother wasting time to code it XD) but i fully support modders deciding some items should not be obtainable that easyly ^^
I don't appreciate the moderators' decision to suspend this mod just because the dev team's childish actions. Which ever admin, mod, etc. who made the decision to suspend this should be ashamed and possibly (unlikely) lose moderator status. Mods ARE about pushing boundaries. The aether team's decision made NO sense, and goes against what Minecraft and modding is about.
I really don't understand why you guys went out of your way to make dungeon items not accessible through TMI but made everything else work normally. "Let's make it so they can't cheat completely but they can cheat a little bit". :huh.gif:
Thats why it is suspended they worked really hard on the code to disable it in TMI but they want the people to enjoy the mod and have fun with it not just play with it until they get bored and then delete the mod
press the plus if u agree or disagree :biggrin.gif: :tongue.gif:

The moderator, I assure you, is much better at it then you would be.
Your childish claims amuse me.
Players are allowed to play and share the mods, however, the authors ARE ALLOWED TO SET THE BOUNDARIES, it is their hard work, their hard coding, and their lost hours coding a mod for the community, which NONE of it was done by the community, you only rush and nag.
Modders have a right on what they do with their mods, if you don't like it, go get another mod.

I suppose that with that kind of mentality, you think basic TMI is disrespectful to Notch because you purely "cheat" something in. (Witch is not true, especially for dev who need to test compatibility, balancing etc.) Besides, everyone has their playing style, I don't necessarily agree with everyone's playing style but they should have the right to play as they wish, especially in a sandbox game.

My childish claims? I was merely stating my honest opinion. No where in that post did I call names, or be rude or immature and never did I claim that I would be a good moderator and NEVER did I ever rush or nag someone to finish up a mod. What about this modder? Does he not get to do what he wishes with his mod? Did he not spend time developing it? If you don't like this mod then don't use it!
I say this, if you just have instant access to everything without any work what so ever?.. it would seem really dull and boring... Imagine like. those who play warcraft if u could just get al lthe best of best gear without any effort whatso ever.. wont feel very good at all.. to gain items without satisfaction of earning them yourself, and just getting bored with the whole mod in a few minutes.. or having a reason to really use the mod?
sure its your choice to decide "Do i want to download this and make myself feel i just wasted ram of my computer because i'll uninstall the whole mod in a day." or play the actual mod without access to the special items. so you can still have tmi for the basics but still have something to work forward on.
i find it more fun having some items nonaccessible via tmi. and seems better and fun. people can QQ and be like they fail at life cant even do **** without getting anything for themselves. it be known they lack the will to earn.
Modding is useful with the new items addes, new features , but still theres common curtesy to other player's mods. each modder put a really long time in making the aether, for someone to just destroy their hard work is griefing..
You made the right choice, Zapmunk. It's good that you respected the wishes of the mod creators and didn't go ahead with releasing the mod anyway. And sometimes I don't get why people want to give themselves all the good items right off the bat. That just takes away from the exploration aspect of the Aether. Want to go spelunk some cool dungeon for riches and rewards? Nope! Already gave myself the best weapon you could find. Want to go Aechor plant hunting? Don't need to! Gave myself 64 petals and a bunch of black moa eggs!
An entire aspect of the mod is essentially rendered useless.
However, I can see it being useful only if:
-you died and can't get back to find your stuff
-You've already found everything, now you're just mucking around for fun

Yes, or if your a developer or respect the freedom of modding and want let people play in there own way if they wish to do so. You don't need to agree with it, censorship is never the answer, it won't affect the developers of the Aether mod. Why do they care so much to force their way of playing on people and why is this being allowed?
Too bad it's down for a few days :tongue.gif:
At least I nabbed it before it was taken down!
(I like complete control over my games! so I cheat a lot )
The thing about it is that the Aether Modders aren't asking much They simply want you to experience the mod for what it is for a week or so... Is it really that big of a deal? Can you really not wait a week for your cheating? seriously grow up, except it, and enjoy the aether. Your lucky that the Aether Developers aren't petty because if they wanted to they could suspend the entire aether and cancel the mod because of people who make a big deal out of nothing.
I was so surprised when i first saw toomanyitems not have it all. I was dumbfounded that they did that. But then i realized one of the reasons i slowed down on playing minecraft was from cheating. So I played aether totally legit and it is WAY funner to do things legit even when you are so tempted to cheat.
EDIT: Not to mention, even if it WAS against the rules, which it isn't...
