They don't always deny fall damage. If you had read the opening post you would have known.
My theory is you have to have nearly no forward momentum.
If you want to have a reliable way to stop fall damage you need a golden feather (I think it's gold loot) or a full gravetite armour set.
Leave the aether, save and end the game.
Go into to .minecraft/stats folder and delete (or move) the files (this resets your achivements). Now reenter the aether.
If you want your achievements back, just move the old files back into the stats folder.
Edit: Also it's gold loot. You can try defeating the gold boss.

I see what you're talking about with the first post. The lore book didn't mention anything about "sometimes." Also I'm no sure momentum is the problem. I can be utterly still, and die on the one. The other protects me even if I am moving. I'll get on finding that gold feather though. Cheers.
Finally beat the bronze boss legit. But what does it mean when the markings on it turn red? Quarter health, half health? It turned red the last time I visited and the time I killed it. Anyways, got two Phoenix Bows, and I'm wondering, do these shoot special arrows, or just plain ones and the phoenix part lights them on fire? XD
i am so confused right now, i'm using the aether fix that fixes all the bugs that we are all waiting for (eg moas despawning) and i have the one that allows sleeping in the aether. so I go to sleep and suddenly I'm attacked by a fricken zombie! in the aether, a zombie spawned and killed me as I tried to sleep. WTF!
That would be because you used a patching mod that was not thought through fully. When you sleep in a bed, there is a chance for mobs to spawn if you don't build a proper house and have it lit. Well, even though its the aether, you didn't build a proper house and the zombies spawned. The guy who fixed the bed thing just made them not explode, but didn't change it so that there is no chance of mob spawn.
So, uhhh, if you like using world seeds and whatnot, try the good ol' -11 seed. When you spawn, go past the giant cave in the mountain, and go into the small cave next to it. Make an Aether portal and you'll spawn on or near an island with four or five bronze dungeon, two of which are intersecting, and with a silver dungeon right nearby.

Here's a nice little glitch for all of you having trouble with the Bronze Boss. First awaken it, then at any time during the battle, pause, save and quit to title, and then load the save again. It will stop moving, and you can kill it easily. I'm not sure what will happen if you walk into it when it's frozen, though.
U LIE D:< It didn't work. But then again, my boss wasn't in his chamber, sometime during the fight with my first one, this other one magically moved from his chamber to the area that linked the first two boss fight areas. I guess I'll try the gravitite thing after I find some gravitite, because I have no idea what he was talking about in the make the room even thingeah.
sense they dont have it listed even though i have seen some things, i wonder has anyone found white or black moa eggs in the dungeon chests (like the bronze nad silver extra chests that usually have things like darts and such) cause as i did say earlier i havnt seen wild moa untill they fix the derp whale despawning things and all i have are 2 blue moa eggs from dungeons

A wise man once said "kiblagibithigindorgian" moral of the story, don't get kicked by a horse.
Has there been an update on the new update? I'm getting really tired with the Moa bug.
The last "update on the update" has long passed by. Anytime between seconds after this is posted to the year 2199 is my guess.
My problem through all of this has been repeatedly missed self-imposed deadlines. The update could be released whenever, but it's the misinformation that sets off my accountability pet-peeve.
The developers of this mod have done fantastic work so far, but it's very frustrating to receive repeated bits of (likely unintentional) misinformation, whether they're making money off of this or not is immaterial.
i got a gold feather in a silver dungeon
it worked thanks
Oh yea, and very nice mod. XD

Moas are BOSS.
Edit: Is Mo' Creatures compatible with Aether?

You can't without SPC.
