Hey guys! It has been brought to my attention that several people are suffering from the uncolored Aerwhales bug and the modders aren't sure why. I checked the dimensions of the Aerwhale and it was something that didn't make sense like 192x72 (I forgot the second number ;P) Honestly, I had this same problem with a texture pack. Minecraft doesn't allow that type of dimension. So I resized the Aerwhale dimension to the same size the other mobs were—128x64. And once I have done that, the Aerwhales got their skins! So all you have to do is bring the image into a photo editing program (NOT MSPAINT!) like GIMP or Photoshop, and scale the image to 128x64 and this should fix the problem! I don't see why it wouldn't. Hopefully the modders see this and resize it to a more reasonable value. Because 128x64 is the default 32x32 texture, and if they wanted to make it 64x64 they should've made it 256x128. Inbetween those doesn't exist, causing the white mob issue. Now, some computers could pick up that dimension but others couldn't like mine.
I'm playing the Aether since it released and I have a few things to say atm.
The bronze dungeons are working completely fine for me, the silver dungeon are very bugged, for example the wall bug or the passive valkyres (I attack them but they don't strike back). The gold dungeons, I saw two for now, were a bit bugged too. First fight: I speak to the boss normally and he begins to attack, the way I came in closes up, when I hit the boss with an icy thing he gets hurt but doesn't spawn his tiny version. When he's dead I receive the key and 2 walls open, first the entrance and second the loot room. Second fight: I speak to the boss, the entrance doesn't close up and the boss spawns his tiny version when hit. Boss is down, I receive the key but I don't see the loot room opening.
The mobs: The poison dart mobs are way overpowered, they spawn all the time and the damage is too high, the aerwhales are just spazzing in the terrain, I didn't see one damn Moa, one flying pig, two sheeps, and the whole sky is full of these snowball clouds.
The hammer of notch is too strong for a bronze dungeon reward, the vampire blade is okay, the lighting knives are very dangerous, the phoenix bow is okay, the armour all in all is okay, pig slayer and things like holy sword are useless.
Zanite is common enough, gravitite is imo too rare, ambrosium is ok, things like quicksoil too.
That's it, I hope my english doesn't hurt your feelings too much.
Mine the door where the chest is at once the boss is defeated all blocks in the dungeon are mineable. Its a glitch I have encountered for myself.
I wouldn't say any of the items are "useless" the Pigslayer can be used to farm Pigmen pork and holy sword for fighting undead creatures. All the dungeon loot has its own unique usage.
Also take a look at this guys might like it :wink.gif:
Alright, I get that the armors and stuff are color overlays. But... WHY are they color overlays? The individual items certainly exist in the mod's code; it's not like it spits out "Iron Boots" when you get something that's a recolor of that item. SO, if each of these items already exists in the mod's code, and the images are just color overlays applied to a gray sprite, why the hell didn't they just make the sprites?! It takes like 3 seconds to overlay a color in photoshop! It's not like they changed anything about the actual look of the sprite, so it's really just an overly complicated way to do things. It makes it really suck if you're trying to re-texture stuff too, because the god damn gloves don't match the rest of my armor because they're just one solid color (Eld's pack has bits of trim on stuff like gold armor, for example).
Raaaaage. How hard would it be to just change the mod so there are individual sprites? It can't be that hard; theres a ton of ridiculous accessories they managed to jam into this thing, so there's got to be space for more.

Just my experience on these:
The silver dungeon wall bug (where at some point, the rooms dead-end instead of going up/down) seems to be unfixable without a mod update, since the wall tiles are locked until the boss is defeated. As far as "passive valkyries," I've never had ANY trouble with them on Easy+ difficulty level. On Peaceful, they will spawn, but will NOT attack you, even if you whack them with a sword (the second you do, they go aggressive, and are despawned).
I haven't had any trouble with the gold dungeons so far. Your description of the two fights you had perfectly match up with the gold boss' behavior on Easy+ vs. Peaceful. You can still initiate the full boss fight on Peaceful, but the little burning minions will NOT spawn when you freeze the boss. They're considered aggressive, so can't spawn on Peaceful. Push the difficulty up to Easy+, and they'll spawn every time.
As far as the loot room is concerned, one thing that seems to be an issue with the dungeon generator is the alignment of the entrance vs. the interior walls. The treasure room is ALWAYS straight ahead from the main tunnel-entrance of the gold dungeon. However, sometimes the interior walls get turned 90 degrees, so there's no opening in the wall. When this happens, you can tell, since there will be strange "door holes" in the interior on the left and right that lead into solid rock, instead of a room. There's nothing you can do about this BEFORE you kill the boss. However, once you take out the boss, the dungeon tiles are all unlocked. Simply dig through the wall in the very back of the room (it's perfectly aligned with the "front door" tunnel), and you'll find your chest. Incidentally, I also take advantage of this when leaving the silver dungeon; once you've killed the boss, open a hole in the very bottom-middle of the large wall (opposite the "throne", and you'll be on the first floor again.
It's ok! No need to freak out. You could address the situation in a more humane way, you know.
Well, I mean, I can work around it and all. But it's such a weird way to add new armors, and it makes it unfriendly for people trying to re-skin stuff.

I understand what you mean. As a texture pack creator, it will be a tad more difficult, but still do- able

Half this stuff wouldn't be a problem if you weren't playing on peaceful.
Um i was in a bronze dungeon and i had a gravite pick and when i right clicked on the stones the floted away and they only do that with the gravite is that a bug or that supposed to happen

That is supposed to happen. It is the special ability of gravitite.
Not that I know of. But SPC will work with this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/501331-173-aether-singleplayercommands-fix/

SPC is the best! Or perhaps that's its evil mind control powers talking?
O_o. I'm scared. :unsure.gif:
