it's a really great mod but i've encountered a problem. In my aether world (even in ones that i newly create) there aren't any mobs (moa's flying pigs) spawning. But sheep zephyr's and whales do spawn. What is going on? I've already reinstalled the mod but nothing seems to be working. I spotted that in te resources file there is a mob file but that is filled with only the zephyr's and not the moa's or pigs. But nonetheless the sound file does contain moa sounds. Does anybody got an idea how I can make more moa's and pigs spawn in my aehter?
The sheep don't need a custom skin, it's the sheep with wings sewn on.
And it's just bad luck. Zephyrs/Aerwhales seem to dominate the max mob count, filling it very quickly and not leaving much room for other mobs, so most of them are rare at the moment.
For some reason once I install the mod, if i try to destroy a tree or dirt or another material that i could destroy with just my fist, once it's been broken, the object won't pop out so i can pick it up and use it. The only way I could use inventory edit is if I edited the aether.dat file, not the level.dat file. Any thing I could do? I'm pretty sure I installed the mod right since I can get into Minecraft... :/
So true... helping in this thread is good, but it can be pointless if people don't know how to search or read directions.
I spent 4 hours and close to 75 pages doing it. Towards the end I just had a notepad with 5 responses that I copy/pasted to answet 95% of all queries ^.^

It is an absolutely great mod, well more of an expansion than a mod to be exact, and I doubt that Notch himself would have made or will make the official sky realm anything as cool as that.
But i have experienced some problems with it. Besides the bugs that have been mentioned a million times before (not getting lore book in second world, aerwhales glitching, messed up spawn rates and so on) I have experienced one quite unique one, that I haven't seen mentioned before. After travelling around for quite some time, looking for a pig or a bird, my world suddenly started to get darker, as if night was coming. The thing is, that my clock still shows mid-day, I haven't killed any gold dungeon boss (not even a silver one yet), I can't see the sun, and it is not as dark as it should be at night, it looks like it should be raining, but it isn't. Will try to wait around and see what happens then.
Maps are also not working for me (don't know if they should), the land updates quite normaly, but there is no marker to show my current position. And I can say that getting around without a map or some other way to find your portal is really hard, I have died in a dungeons a few times, and only found way back to them from portal by luck. So I would suggest some other ways to navigate around.
Even though I highly doubt anyone will read this, as it is reaching 500 pages, but here is my two cents. Amazing work guys.
I'm here, and I'm reading it.
I don't think the dark is a bug. I've experienced it many times myself and thought it was a feature. That is Aether "night". Until you kill a Gold boss and get actual night to enjoy. The watch doesn't move, like in the Nether the watch just spins around. Besides, it's only slightly darker.
Also, you have my sincere, sincere thanks for reading the previous posts, saves me so much typing :smile.gif:

It's not a bug, I believe it's the raining on the surface. I've experienced the same thing, and believe that's what happened to me. Nothing to worry about though.
I've experienced the same thing, when I was playing like 10 mins ago it started to become dark, while I haven't beat any bosses so far, and I also can't seem to find the sun.
On another note: it seems that Holystone Swords still have the chance of dropping Ambrosium when you kill something in the 'normal' world, don't know if this was intended or not, just giving you a heads up.
I'm pretty sure it's just for any mob
It could well be raining. I haven't even thought of checking that. Will do next time it darkens.

Not having found it myself, I'm not sure, butI think it extends your range for fighting/mining etc.
I think he forgot Shockah API.
For the millionth time, Premium Wood isn't compatible! Use the search bar...
(The repetitiveness of the problems people are having is becoming annoying.)
Cheers :cool.gif:

Ninja edit :wink.gif:
I think it's just meant for any mob.
Purely decorative. And a pain because they eat up valuable mob count spots.
