Now that that's over with -- the OP doesn't state installation regs or where-to.
Doesn't even say to download it and that instructions might be inside either.
you didn't have to call me a douche, you could have also search on how to install mods, I was just giving an example of a reply you'll get when you ask EXTREMELY noobish questions
I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I'm not going to sift my way through 116 pages of comments / questions to find out the answer to this question. What is the conversion between meters and blocks? I want to know because I'm trying to find a spot exactly 2400 blocks away from one of my doors where a checkpoint is located.
Blocks are the basic units in Minecraft, and are essential to the gameplay. Together, they build up the in-game environment, and can be mined and utilized in various fashions.
The face of a block is 16×16 pixels, and each block is proportionately one cubic meter.[1] Most blocks are static, although Water, Lava, Portal, and Fire blocks have a shifting pattern for each face.
Thank you DarkNexxus, I am building a map that needs very precise block measurements and 2400 in one direction was needed and i didn't want to count out all 2400 blocks.
Something you can try, but you will lose any mods or addons this way. Start Minecraft. When you get to the login screen, put a checkmark in Force Update. That will reload the main minecraft files from the server.
And for that other having issues with waypoints vanishing. I fixed mine tonight. I went into my minecraft folder, then opened mods, then rei_minimap, you'll see some files like this [worldname].DIM0.points (Worldname is the name of the world you created or downloaded and lost your waypoints on. Delete the one that matches the world you're having trouble with. Re-start minecraft and go into your game. Start saving waypoints again.
This fixed mine, hopefully it'll fix yours.
I dont really mind giving up my mods. I just want my minecraft, thanks for the help!

Thank you so much for this suggestion (my careful post got buried in trolls.) I'll give it a try next time I lose my waypoints.
I did that, but modloader brings only black screen, I dont have java 1.6, i am on Mac. So, can this map run without modloader?
Mac? On that I have no idea. There is/was an alternate way of adding these mods, but use this at your own risk.
1. copy your minecraft.jar file to a backup location.
2. Open your original minecraft.jar using WinRAR or any other jar editor files. Open up Rei's minimap zip file and copy all the files inside the zip, into the jar file.
3. Close the jar and zip when the transfer is complete.
This may or may not work. And make sure you backup that minecraft.jar file in case it doesn't.

Like I said, it worked for mine. I even have a theory on why mine may have quit working. I've been building a map for my son for the last few weeks. I put up a tower, one of those high things with glow lights to mark the entrance to the underground complex and I went to the top, set waypoint. Well, that waypoint was in no mans land. Nothing could be added that high up to the structure and now I'm thinking that the minimap may have been broken because of it.
When i try and Download the Rei's Minimap file, its blocked by SmartScreen Filter. Is there anything in the zip uh, "unsafe" or a way to temporarily disable the Filter?
I really want this minimap mod...
it is the same for me. i wanna know how to disable it to. atleast 1 other persons computer is like mine. :biggrin.gif:

This is only a theory of course.
I didn't do anything remotely like that to break mine. I wish I knew how it happened so I can avoid it in the future.
You've got a lucky son! I can't get my (adult) kids interested.

the waypoints i saved on the previous version disappeared on the 1.1 update
is there anyway to get them back?

Start minecraft, checkmark force update, click enter game. That will fix your stuck screen.
Use MCpatcher (scroll back a few posts for the link) to add modloader and the minimap to the game.

This should work for all internet explorers I'd imagine.
Through Internet Options
1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
A) Click on Tools (Menu Bar or Command Bar icon button)
:cool.gif: Go to step 3.
OR
2. Open the Control Panel (Classic View).
3. Click on Internet Options.
4. Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
5. To Turn On the SmartScreen Filter
A) Check the Enable SmartScreen Filter box, and click on OK..
:cool.gif: Click on OK to confirm.
7. To Turn Off the SmartScreen Filter
A) Uncheck the Enable SmartScreen Filter box, and click on OK.
I didn't do anything remotely like that to break mine. I wish I knew how it happened so I can avoid it in the future.
