On the server I play on the directions are shifted from the normal minecraft ones.
Like north is east etc.
Is there anyway to adjust for this?
Same here. I run vanilla client except for Rei's Minimap and when I upgraded to 3.0_01, my compass rotated 90 degrees. My north shows up as east. The sun is setting in the "north" and the clouds are moving north as well according to the minimap. The attached picture is sunset on my server.
Server: Minecraft 1.1 (Bukkit #1820 1.1-R1)
Client: Force Download and using Modloader/Rei's Minimap.
Hello,
I have minecraft (legit) v1.1 and want to download these mods:
- modloader(?)
- toomanyitems
- zombemodpack
- Improved Chat
- ReiMinimap
- MC patcher???
Which order must I download this and shall I use mc patcher and/or modloader?
I tried 2 ways but leads me to a black screen on startup.
Maybe a mod confict another one, if you know wich please say.
Thank you!
Roy
Install Modloader first, and then you want to install Improved Chat after Rei's Minimap. Then you want to install zombe's modpack before TMI.
So the ordet should be:

I have the same issue. Any way to fix it would be great. Getting confused when I try to get around the map and find myself going the wrong way. Though it does let me find new things, lol.
I cannot believe how much of a pain in the ass it is to get the radar features enabled in SMP.
I further cannot believe the flames people direct towards others struggling to get this to work.
Clearly the message that people are having trouble with this feature is not reaching home with the people presumably trying to help. Here's a tip, if people are still posting having difficulty getting it to work, its clearly still confusing and complicated. Don't jump to the conclusion that people are being lazy and not using the search feature.
How about further clarification on the usage of the color coding perhaps within the MoTD? I for one could not get the commandbook plugin ( 1.7 and 1.6 ) to run with the most recent bukkit version. So I went back to loginmessage 0.6.61 which does in fact work quite nicely. I've tried a blank motd with the command syntax above as well as my own custom message and nothing has an effect on the minimap. My MoTD's are pretty though.
I apologize if this is a duplicate, but it would be great if on the entity radar we can turn off specific monsters/animals besides just slimes and squid. For instance, I would love to only see endermen on it or cows on it. Makes for easier hunting.
Otherwise, this is a great mod and I appreciate all your hard work!
The direction on this minimap is wrong. The minimap says its "NORTH" but its pointing EAST. It looks like it needs to be rotated 90 degrees. It is very confusing when using world edit or just getting around.
Anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT: This might be a bug in worldedit.
According to Notch, the Minecraft sun and moon actually rose in the north, not in the east. This was a bug, but was left in the game. This was changed in Minecraft Beta 1.9 Pre-release 4, so the sun and moon now rise in the east.
Love the map.
It doesn't work with this latest pre-release though, does it?
Not yet. I hope it does soon, but... it seems like most people are avoiding doing mods and texture packs for the current and the previous snapshot. Wonder if it has to do with the whole "You have to make a new map" thing. ...which admitedly does bug me, but I can mcedit my stuff onto a new map. I'm just waiting for a Rei's update beforehand because I find it to be the best tool for exploration, and I need a good enough desert to place my previous map's spawn on.

Java is bulky, slow, hogs resources, passes out from exhaustion, and although it was big in the 90's is now typically only found on poorly designed websites. Much like Harry Knowles. So any time Minecraft crashes, blame Java.
I have an idea that may help for random cave spelunkers. You could maybe look into seeing if there would be a way to trace your footsteps back to the surface, or have a way that the map could search all viable exits from a cave to the surface and determine the shortest possible route, it would definitely help if you get trapped in a cave without a pickaxe!
1 I think emailing the the file would be the best solution, yes. or upload it and send them the link, that should work too.
2 DIM0 is the overworld, the normal world. DIM1 is the nether, altough Rei didn't add a file type for those in multiplayer I believe. Nothing to worry about.
3 I have no idea, to be honest. You can try using it with starting a line with either // or #, but no guarantees, sorry.
For example:
# Waypoint to Dock:
or
// Waypoint to Dock:

Del429 here i would like to ask for your permission for me to post your amazing mod for minecraft with many other mod for minecraft in the one file (bin file) on planet mincraft. Can you send me massage as soon as you can for your permission to post it. Thanks del429
Don't take this in a bad way but, are you blind? It's that or you haven't even checked the first post, 'cause the very first quote on it says:
ReiFNSK said:
Please do not modifications to forcibly enable Entities radar with SMP.
Please do not modifications to forcibly enable Cave mapping with SMP.
It is allowed to include this mini-map in your mod pack basically.
Please make a link to this topic and display the name of the ReiFNSK however.
There are no plans for publishing the source file.
I don't think the author will add such a cheat option, because it's not intended for this minimap.
For that you should better look out for other mods...

I don't know why, but after I inserted ImprovedChat a second time, it suddenly worked alongside Reis Minimap!
Haven't changed anything, but even if I overwrite this shared agq.class with the one from ImprovedChat,
I have my minimap AND the modified chat. oO
No clue why this works now, but it does for me.
I have the following Mods installed in this order:
Rei's Minimap agq.class is not used to make the minimap appear but i don't know why he change that either. Probably it is used to make the minimap appear when there's no modloader.

Too addicted with Counter-Strike: Source for some reason...
Like north is east etc.

Thanks.

Use MCPatcher if you want. If you do, you can also put the mods into it so it's installing the HD texture fix and the mods at the same time.

In the Waypoints menu, could you add a button to quickly enable/disable all the waypoints ?
And maybe the same thing while removing waypoints.

I didn't see that. But okay
