The compass directions are not broken, people need to stop asking for this to change. Notch north IS actual north. The sun rises in the east, sets in the west, just like it's freaking supposed to!!! Get over it. The direction the clouds move is not relevant.

I only asked because i think a setting would be a simple solution. I prefer actual north, unless WE changes its directions any time soon, i like it the way it is.
Very handy, esp when one can't find sugarcane to make paper to map with (idiots hacking them down to the roots in MP... does anyone understand the virtue of MODERATION anymore?). Helped save my skin after getting lost in an abandoned mine complex earlier too, and saved my gear after I got blown to pixels in the Nether the other night.

I understand that You Made the Map Match the Way Notch Fixed the Sun ect. ect. But I Am an Admin on a Server we Built Based on the old MC in 1.8.1. Our Server is based off of A Game of Thrones on HBO, and The Book Series "A Song of Ice and Fire"
We Built a "North Wall" to the 1.8.1 North Which is now West. We Want to Know if it is possible to change the class file to read west as north so when we are on the server our server's "north" shows up as north on the map.
There is no way to move anything we have built on our server map. We have put 10+ hours of work re-making the land. With a Total of 10 People.
If there is any way for us to customize the mod please let me know!
BTW Everyone on our server uses Your Mod, If they Know they can use mini-map. Cant Play Without it now! We all Send Our Thanks for making this mod!

I had no idea how much I would use waypoints until I started. Not only is it an awesome way to find your way home, the minimap makes you realize how gorgeous the landscape is.
I really do not understand the instructions on how to enable cave mapping in SMP.
Do I need to be an admin to allow it, or what? Could a person fluent in English explain?
You do need to be admin to allow it. There needs to be a line in the MOTD to enable it. Check this post to see how to do it. Keep in mind that I asked this question a while back and it had to do with sk89q's CommandBook, so it might not be the exact answer you need. The info on the original post in the spoiler is correct.

Okay, I get it. I'll have to get an admin to add the cave mapping code. I don't think they would allow the entity markers, though XD

As an admin myself, I don't do it anymore since part of the fun of Minecraft is spelunking in caves, finding new areas, dungeons, etc. Adding features like cave mapping and entity markers just makes the game get boring a lot faster.
It only happens with the round map shape. This happened when I moved some files from a computer to another computer with a flash drive, and when I used a clean .jar and reinstalled it, it still didn't work. Any help?
Guys I just get BSOD when I install this mod, and of course I deleted the META INF folder, and the 2.9 version is completely different than the version in the video, and I'm not exactly sure what to do with the reifnsk folder.
I need some written instructions on how to do this.
It is just like all other mods. I believe you will need ModLoader for starters. At any rate, take the contents of the zip file and dump them into the top level directory of the minecraft.jar file, while making sure to delete the META-INF folder in there. That's it. I recommend using WinRAR to edit .jar files (if you are on Windows, that is).
Could someone tell me how to install it? I can't watch the video because flash is unsupported for 64 bit Windows Vista. Thanks if someone does tell me! :biggrin.gif:

It's hard to come up with things to say and ways to say them properly after a long day, so how about we all just sit down and try to figure out what the hell I'm saying in an orderly fashion?
Hey, i was in a giant cave system with your mod and i heard slime-like sounds, but the minimap was'nt showing a slime in it (I only have slime radar active) then i searched a bit and found an enderman. Sometimes i found endermen and kill them, but i never got an ender pearl. I killed the enderman and it gave me an ender pearl.
Then i tought "What if the minimap could show endermen with one of the options like it can with slimes?"
Can you do it? Endermen spawn rarely and it could be cool if i could find them more often.
Oh, and can you make slimes green in minimap too?
Can someone please tell me how to install!? I would really love to try this mod!
