Right, that means ModLoader support for 1.9-P5 isn't out yet. Hope Rei will add this soon!
Blame Mojang for their annoying prereleases...
Modloader for 1.9.5 has been out for quite some time actually. Even with the 1.9.5 modloader, I cannot run any mods other than yours. Good thing I'm used to running multiple jar files or i'd be annoyed.

The slime chunk is not the only thing you need to know about slimes to spawn. There are a few other things you ight want to know:
- The chances of slimes spawning compared to other hostile mobs is only 5%. (Protip: light up the farm properly and light up as much caves as you can in a 32 block radius from the farm for max results). Slimes don't need a dark place to spawn, like other mobs.
- Slimes (and all other hostile mobs) spawn when you are between 24 and 64 blocks away.
- Slimes only spawn beneath Y=16 [not since RC2] and when the ceiling is 2 high. Making a ceiling 3 or 4 high will greatly improve the chance, though.
I'm not 100% sure about these facts but I think it will at least help a bit.
Yeah I have everything setup pretty good I think. I lit up as many caves as I could, I can no longer hear any other mobs. The slime pit goes down from layer 40 all the way down to around 15 or so. Since slimes were still not spawning I didn't know if they needed a "floor" to spawn. Like if one wanted to spawn on level 30 but the only floor is at level 15 it just wouldn't spawn. I don't know if that's how it works. But anyways, I made platforms 5-6 tiles high from level 15 to 40, so they should have enough space to spawn on each floor I guess. I don't know if it was a good idea or not to make the floor but they still don't seem to be spawning very much. Oh and the floor is made of glass in case that stops them from spawning or something. The one that did spawn was all the way at the bottom on normal stone and cobblestone.
The pit is 17x17 so I should be in range. Is there a time limit that has to pass before it checks to see if any slimes spawn? I don't understand the 5% spawnrate. For example a 5% chance to spawn every 5 minutes or does it work some other way?
I was just playing minecraft when a thunderstorm came and I just got the mod so it made me think, how awesome it would be if the map showed where lightning strikes real-time :biggrin.gif: you know?
Hmm, try digging to bedrock. Slimes spawn more likely under level 16.
And with that 5%, I mean the chance of a slime spawning. See, every random amount of time a (group of) mob(s) will spawn. The game engine randomly chooses between zombie/skeleton/spider/creeper/enderman/slime. Zombies, skeletons, creepers and spider have a high priority, endermen have a medium priority and slimes a very low priority. So if a skeleton and a slime could spawn at the same place, thare is only a very small chance the slime would actually spawn.
Ah okay I get it. A friend told me that mobs don't spawn on glass so I replaced all the glass with normal stone and they started spawning. I guess that was the problem. Thanks for the info though.
Hey Rei/Marik, I have a suggestion:
You know how you gave the option to change the texture to Zans Minimap?
Do you reckon that you could add more? You could add extra folders to the reifnsk -> minimap folder, and call them custom1, 2, 3 etc that could be edited by the user? They could be changed over in the "Texture" option under "Minimap Options" in the in-game menu.
The ability to name these would be cool too, but thats not a priority.
Thanks for reading this.
Can you fix the zan's minimap texture?
The compass point of zan's minimap is supposed to be outside the minimap, not inside. They a little bit z-fight too.
Thank you so much for this mod. The Minimap has actually made playing Minecraft more fun for me, because now I don't get lost in my worlds and ragequit/delete them out of frustration!
I have a couple of questions though. Anyone else getting significantly longer loading times with this mod installed? Before I installed the mod maps loaded almost instantly. After I installed the mod there is a ~5 second hang when loading maps. Is this normal?
Why are the coords off by one in SMP? Here is a screenshot.

i believe that rei's minimap give the location of the block your feet are in, where as the ingame coordinates are where the camera (char's eyes) are.
Nevermind I just got one to spawn, I think that maybe because they spawn from a higher level they're spawning in other places above where I made it ;\
